BUt you missed that he said the DFI was better...and at the suggested price, the DFI is cheaper too. So why would you buy it? you are gonna spend extra on an inferior board? :stick:

If you read the whole thing you would see that I said I was going to get the DFI instead
I did miss that. :slap:
if the DFi is a big of a beast as bigtoe says I think everyone here might think about upgrading...
i doubt it will be that much of an upgraded compared to the DFi NF4 boards. If the ATI version is that much better, who's gonna buy the Nvidia boards?
no-one...that is Ati's plan i guess...DFI don't care if it's there Nvidia or Ati boards that are bought, as long as they get bought.
Not all of the new boards are gonna be crossfire, are they?
And another thanks to bigtoe for all the work and info. :toast:
Now that is about as truthful as it gets. Note: I am only filliing in while BT is out relaxing and he deserves it or his wife one. Hehehehe. I am only trying to check and make sure the thoughts do not fade too far off into left field while BT is away.Quote:
An insider near DFI reported that the company is working on an ATI Crossfire board, which will be based on the reference design. The board name, although unofficial, is DFI CF-BT where CF stands for Crossfire and BT is supposedly the abbreviation of an industry consultant Tony Leech who’s been working with DFI for the past four years and is on DFI’s "advisory board" for research and development. According to an insider, he’s been assisting DFI with research and development aspects of the board, and DFI is supposedly honoring Leech by naming a board after him. With that said, DFI USA and DFI Taiwan are still discussing the board name.
Those of you that have followed this thread SINCE it started need to remember what BT has said as the times went by. There were updates to what he said. Things moved and progressed. What he mentioned; before leaving, about DFI making an ATI CF-BT board is reality. It likely bears no resemblance to the first things BT talked about. This is a current board and likely a good deal removed from all you have seen leaked/tipped up until now.
At this time I have not seen the board to be built. I have taken 'for myself' and photo-shopped the board along the lines of what is being proposed and am blown away. Their are many ancillary items already to go as nearly as I can tell and the whole proposition really is mind-boggling at least to me. So much is proposed that I have even contemplated a totally see-thru case and that for me who does not even care about lights.
Even today and certainly before BT left we have held out for nothing but the best as we understand it and NO real variance from the standard. That means I have no clue how close it will come but the board I hear being proposed is a giant step for DFI. A monster step for a company that I affectionately say already builds some ROCKET MONSTERS. IMO so you don't miss me saying 'affectionately'.
So all I can really say is that the 'thread' that has wound rather tightly thru all this since May and the beginning of thread > must needs be considered. That gentlemen is the board I am hoping and waiting for. If that appears > well I will be more than pleased from all I am able to understand.
So I have chosen to not speculate passed the point of wanting and hoping and coercing for nothing but the best. And I will know when I see hopefully one of the pre-pro boards in a few weeks. Just remember the silver thread that has been set forth by BT and you will know why I too got excited. And thank you all for your continued show of interst.
RGone...
this looks like a pretty straight forward statement...Quote:

dosn't have to compare to anything, just talk down one side, and i can't believe ppl still resource themQuote:

I pray for no onboard graphics, good caps, excellent voltage options, 4 sata2 ports, and dual x16 support but I will settle for dual x8.. Put two graphics cards in there just so that I can game with 4 monitors....
Now that would sweet...
well if you don't want onboard gfx and it have it,just disable it in bios ^^
^^^ Yeah, but nn step would still have to fork over a little more of his hard earned money for something he/she would probably never use.
Due to DFI's past experience in OC friendly boards that DO perform and with the HUGE bonus of ppl like Osker Wu and BT writing/optimising bios's on an ongoing basis plus IMO proven quality,........... when it finally comes time to make a choice between DFI and Sapphire and actually put your money on the table ---- Who are you going to trust ?
ITS A NO BRAINER :) :fact:
Not DFI right now. It only killed 6gb worth of memory so far for me...
I hope DFI wont be using the ATI southbridge for the CF-BT like they are with the UT RDX200.
Will the Sapphire Grouper come in blue or in white, how on the pictures?
^sapphire grouper will look like every the many picture of sapphire grouper in this thread, or in the many reviews its had.
ouch that's one bad run of luck there :(Quote:

Maybe you don't leave them in there long enough for damage to be done :p:Quote:

It doesn't even hold a candle to a 9200 let alone two 7800gtxs (provided the R520 doesn't show up by mid oct)
