i doubt that u can change the dividers on a lappy, maybe adjusting agp frequency to 75 mhz might engage the next divider though? how is battery life when oced?
I think the best way to answer your question is like this: (check wattage)

All the pictures were taken at idle load
@ andrenoites
can you give me a address to the program?
wow so it barely changed? what about loaded.?
The link to the software is http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/
I´m at work now, later i will post more pics at full load ;)
hey adrenoites! HOW did you overclock the laptop!? I have Wortmann Terra Aura 8300 with dothan 740 (533FSB and 1.73Ghz Clock) and alviso chipset (i915 series), it comes with 512mb dual chanel DDR2 PC4300, which I guess runs at 133MHz (266DDR), according to the tests.
Has anyone any clockgen which would work with this chipset??!! or any other software. the mobo in this laptop is ASUS M7V, and it has PCI-E Nvidia Go 6600 with 128 mb of videoram at 250/500.
Guys please jelp, I cannot find any software to twaek the laptop upwards...
and then how does it show a wattage for you? It does not show for me... :(
already showing, sorry... did not show earlier...... my fault
Ok guys, in the next picture we can compare wattage in full load (running prime95)

hey what did you use to verclock this laptop?
your 31,25watt@ 1600mhz
is for your laptop not for only dothan because my laptop 2,0@2,2 dothan have 37watt at bench 01 3d!!
here my laptop
adrenoites do you have a cam so you can post a pic inside your lappy? wat a beast... wat gpu does it have?
My laptop have an ati 9700 mobility and in 2d mode its only at 75mhz gpu. Maybe thats the reason because its wattage is less compared to other laptops. In 3d mode the gpu raises to 550mhz witch is more 100mhz than stock speed
the sheer size of the thread scares me ;)
What's the verdict on the new Aopen 915gMe board??????
C
I believe vegeta has this board, but didn't have a processor to use in it.Quote:

I'm interested in picking up a 2.1GHz Dothan. Two questions:
1. What board would you guys recommend?
2. What board would you guys recommend in conjunction with the Asus CT479?
Sorry for the n00b questions. I'm an AMD kinda guy. :p:
i would goto newegg and grab a referb P4C800-E Delux for 100 bucks or if you want you can pick up the retail P4C but its 180 bucks :(
your gana need a p4 or know someone with a p4 so you can flah the bios tho :( that gose for any board useing the CT-479 for the P4C800-E Delux you want the 1021 bios
Those are 8X AGP, right? Am I correct assuming that there are no PCIe boards for this CPU?
ya there AGP and i edit my post above as well :)

EDIT #2: i have never seen a PCI-E S478 board and they would have to make a different adapter for the LGA775
Aw, shucks. All of my peers are on AMD rigs. Hahaha. Maybe I can get charlie or FUGGER to flash it for me.
now there are cheaper boards but i say the P4C is gana be the best clocker how ever you can use the P4P800 SE and the P4P800-VM for micro ATX you will still need to flash the bios with a normal P4 but like i said i think the P4C is gana be the best clocker
Thanks for sharing your views with me, Fzero. I truly appreciate it and will consider what you have told me. :toast:
I seem to remember people getting better FSB overclocks with the P4Ps than the P4Cs.....
However, super high(270+) FSB probably isn't a concern with a P-M setup.
Jay
well the reason i see the P4C doing so well is that was the board used to get the 21s world record here a couple days back all the reviews on the CT most were useing P4P and didnt see any really high clocks i say wait let some more results pop up and go from there :) thats what im doing
