if I get it right, you get FF on all settings including auto. Have you tried raising cpu/cpu-nb vid?

Beyond what beta said above, have you confirmed that your CPU is indeed unlockable in another board, Bioshock? Its possible that your specific CPU isn't unlockable.
Stable at lower voltage than stock x2 550 vid of 1.35 :ROTF: This is 1.325v idle vdroop 0.005

ive even tried it on all stock settings with the voltages raised
yes i have unlocked it on a gigabyte board
heres some screens of my bios settings, id actually like some help regarding overclocking more than unlocking the 4th core because it seems like msis bios is too buggy for now to even bother with it
but id like to get my system to push out each ounce of performance as possible
NOTICE: i do have the multiplier dropped one notch to run at 3618 right now, i usually keep it at 3718 but it seems my cpu voltage is a bit high compared to what other people report settings theres to to achieve the same overclock
so what can i tweak to get this thing running at its max, one thing is my ram, this crap WONT overclock beyond 1608. its 1600 stock btw ocz flex ex series 7-6-6-24 timings
heres a pic and link to the modules on ocz website:

you will notice in my voltages pic below i have the ram running @ 1.85 volts, itll do 1600 at 1.8v too, but i just keep it at 1.85, but even at 1.95 it wont overclock and be stable above 1608..................the blue screens im getting im almost positive are related to my ram overheating. these things get so hot you cant even touch them for a split second while playing games or benching and ill just get random blue screens ...and it only happens during gaming or benching. but my cpu is prime stable on cpu only tests even at 3718 with the settings you see in the bios pics below. but id like to figure out how to run this thing with lower voltages to the cpu,, possibly by raising the cpu-pll or other settings im not too in touch with at the moment. so some help form you guys would be much appreciated.
720be cpu btw

edit: i forgot to mention, regarding ACC.............even with EC set to normal, if i enable ACC i get FF on boot. i know this is a bug in the bios because the early revisions (specifically 1.3 final i recall) didnt do that
I guess you can't fault ocz as they run rated speed and timings, but you can't go over 1608 even with looser timings 8-8-8-24?
Hey there guys, just to let you know, CPU-Z 1.52 is out.
Here: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
nope, they wont budge ive tried the timings as loose as possible allowed by the bios, no good
man i lost count how many times ive tried flashing the bios. ive used every release since 1.0. ive had the board since it was released
i just found out the other day about this bug when i enabled acc by accedent and realized what i had done as soon as i restarted and was stumped as to why i got a ff then realized i enabled acc
I went back to the 1.4b4 bios and now every time I change the speeds to 1600 it says bad bios checksum. I am now running at 1333 6-6-6-20. I hope somone from OCZ can help, but there has been no reply on their forums since Sunday.
Did you clear the cmos after the flash?
Lover your hht speed to 2400 and set your ddr vref voltage to follow the ddr voltage and set the cpu ddr phy voltage to times up and try again
thanks for the pointer, this version has a new tab labeled Graphics, and shows some additional information about the cpu cache on the main tab. good stuff!
not sure if this was directed towards my posts or not, but ill reply anywhoo
my ht speed is 2211 if i remember correctly , i read over at ocz's forums having your ht speed at stock 2000mhz is faster in performance benchmarks as opposed to raising it.....doesnt make much sense to me, but is this true? lower = better on ht??? hmmmm
as for ddr vref voltage, what exactly is that used for? same for cpu-pll, what is that for and whats a safe voltage for the 720? whats the benefits of over-volting it? will it help with higher overclocks?
id really appreciate it if someone could explain the cpu-pll and ddr vref for me. thanks in advance to all who help out here in this thread. you guys rock
I was looking at picking up this board along with a 955 and 8GB of: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231259
Any better RAM options that I should be looking at?
Or not since Newegg is out of 955s. WTF!
Hey guys what drivers do you install for the mobo chipset ? I just installed the South Bridge drivers from AMD Game website, do i need anything else ? Like northbridge drivers, no right ? If i am not using RAID, i don't need those, correct ?
BioShock. Did you use a camera to take snapshots of your Bios settings? Fraps? How did you do it. Thanks.
TurboDiv. I think you have it all. If you are up to date with MSI's and other updates you should be there.
Good Luck.
I did some testing and found my best with HT in 2200's and CPU-NB in the 2400's, anybody else try this? Several hundred points higher than other combo's for me, and you?

LOL 1.53...
2000 HT solved... so far so good :P
I posted it here :) Enjoy

Can anyone confirm that 1.5b3 is good, or is it still buggy like the rest? Need to try unlocking my uber bad clocker 720BE, if it fails at that it's time for a new CPU :D
Ever since 1.51, I believe unlocking cores is fixed. You just needed to run HT/NB at 1600/2000 thats all. If you've never unlocked your 720BE before, then no one can really tell you for sure if you have a good 720 or if its because you set something wrong in the bios.
In my case I had unlocked my 720 on another brand mobo before, so I knew for sure the 1.4x bios were the culprit and not my processor. With 1.51 I am on 4 cores at 3.4ghz stable 24/7.
