Quigs: Seeing your temps, etiher you have poor case airflow or something but your temps do seem high. I hit 48C stock volts and a slight OC on the core/mem, then again even at stock the temps didn't change at all. You might want to reconsider resetting the heatsink on the GPU and seeing if you used to little or to much paste. What paste are you using?

Astennu: So when you going to try the 5.12's :) I'm guesssing you won't see much if any score increase but hopfully a better OC will come from it, since this release is more for us DC people.

Oh ya I can't hear my fan @ max volts. Then again I do have a 120mm covering that area blowing air tward the card so that might help dampen the sound.

I have had a DC but id only did 2.6 ghz. So i need a ADV stepping 4400+ those can hit 3.0.

I will try them tomorrow. Then i will have some spare time.

I realy hear my fan. I even lowered it with a zalman regulator. But then again i got 80mm silent fans running @ 5v so like 1000 RPM ( @ 12v 1800 ) and my cpu fan douse not spin if cpu is under 40c. And its 35c idle ( passive ). So the zalman cooler was making the most noice in my pc. so its on 7v now.

But i will keep u posted on the 5.12's.

Cool, well my DC just was able to hit 2.65Ghz after I unplugged my floppy and molex connector from the mobo. Otherwise it was 2.6Ghz for me also.

I am using Arctic Silver Ceramique. I followed the instructions on the website when I took off the old. Used q-tips and alcohol to clean it off until it was nice and mirror like. Then applied a drop of the Arctic stuff on the center and put the fan on. I don't mind re-trying it again.

Any suggestions on something that can show me the GPU fan speed? I use MBM monitor for CPU temps. Guess I just need to find which fan plug I am using and try to read that one on the DFI board. As for the air flow in the case, I only have 1 80MM fan in the bottom front feeding in air. Maybe that is one of the problem. It is a one of those chieftec cases with the clear side.

Try it again, took me 2 times to get it right. Eventually it dropped 5C total with the good apply over my first go at it. Oh ya and vodka is great for cleaning the GPU/Heatsink, besides its good to drink it cleans very well hehe.

As for GPU fan speed, guess as long as its plugged into the 12V line (black) it should be fine. Don't know if its safe or not but u could plug it into the header on the graphics card, that at least you'll have fan control at your hands, but I don't think it has the RPM sensor on it.

As for cooling ya that 80mm fan is hurting ya. Is there any spots on the back to put another fan to suck air out? Or more in the front to suck into the case too? There has to be a way to suck air out of that case, besides going through the PSU. If you want to get creative you could start modifitying the case to accept 120mm fans and such if its possible. Running with the side of teh case off might actually be benificial to you. But if theres enough cooling, running with the case side on you'll see a temp decease, thats when you know you got some nice cooling.

I would say its great for XL core from 500 Mhz to 710 Mhz :clap:

I got my Sapphire X1800XL some days ago and it died after first hours of gaming, strange card, need to RMA it, but it will take a long time to do it :slapass: Hate Sapphire f-ing products now and their servise too! :nono:

Mem 660Mhz, would be good to have watercooling on them too :-) 710 need 1.375V, thats alot, so i use 690 and 1.3V (maybe lower is enough, but just to be sure) and temp is at 51C max under load, not that bad :)
other voltage is 2.150V and 1.8V I/O (when i set I/O higher, it hangs with 690+Mhz GPU)

funny is when im playing world of warcraft (of course it hangs when i overclock GPU more then 570Mhz) but when playing on stock clocks it never goes more then 38C :D no wonder, its not similar engine to FEAR :D

deathman20 - took your suggestion and redid the fan setup. Seemed to help a little. Using your settings (615/730 1.2/2.2/2.0) temps ranged from 42 - 61 with environment 31-40 (case door open). System seems to idle around 41. Loads get to upper 50's maybe low 60's so far. With your setting and the new 5.12's I scored 9379 in 3D05. I will give the arctic ceramique some time to settle in.

On the other hand the 9500 on the CPU is amazing. My idle temp is 30 and load never breaks 40.

Excellent glad to hear :) Ya gotta try for my upping my ram more since I seem to get 630 with 1.225V right now on the core. I want my 9.6k now hehe.

Got cat 5.12 on my system now. But still 1.125 max :\. 1.15 still locks up. I will try omega's now but i don't expect anything more. My card is the most @#@#%@#% card i have seen :D

Are you using ATI tool at all? Or just OC... because even though OC overclocks the ram, its slows it down much more then it actually is at stock, loosing up timings and such.

I ran a test at 1.225 with 630/730 - got 6550. I then did 631/751 1.245/2.25/2.0 and got 9668. Temps seem to be in the 50's during the core of the tests. There are 2 logs of low 60's (within the same minute). Other than that things look good. Running at these speeds is stable in 3d05 - ran the tests a couple of times.

I am going to see where I can get with pushing the CPU a little more.

Very nice. Is that long term stability? I know when I bumped my voltage on the memory over 2.2 it started to give bad effects over time basically like white blotchs on the screen :( Really even 2.2V gave that over time, but it ran cool :)

630/711 right now with mine 1.225/2.154/2.004. Its working well so far many games and stability tests over night seems to be working well im happy :)
