Same here retail 175 from Newegg coming next week and while I was at it I couldn't resist GSkill 2x1gb HZ and a Sapphire X1800XT.:woot:Quote:

DFI eXpert mobo
Stable at 2.4Ghz with 1.35v (just above stock). Idle's at 24-26C, load is 38C. Prime stable (forget how long) and game stable. If it doesn't go higher, I at least have a 4800+ so I'm content. Once I get a better case fan, I think I can take this one to 2.6 if not higher.
Only hint I have for people having issues -- check your LDT/FSB ratio (HTT Multiplier) ... Auto has not worked for me at all ... I've had to manually set it to get it working.
Later this week I'll go higher and post screens with my highest stable.
nloding-put 1.45v into it and see what happens
I've put up to 1.53v into it, but before I manually set the LDT/FSB Ratio, the thing was never stable and ran quite hot (53C under load with the PWM at almost 63C).Quote:

I know this is unlikely, but if someone picked up a 165 early on for cheap and got a couple extra I would happily take one off your hands. :P
Heh, I ordered a set of G.Skill 2x1gb HZ as well, although I'm perfectly content with my 7800GTX for now. I got the OEM version though - the retail didn't seem worth the extra $50, especially since I will be putting the chip under my WC loop anyway. Don't make me regret my purchase! ;)Quote:

For more everyday stuff I drop it to 215 mhz, 12x, 1.35v, yields 2.58 ghz, and around 39C board, 41C CPU idle, 45C board, 54-56C CPU loaded. Since I don't load both cores to max all day, it's really not that big an issue for me to have it idling in the 40s w/ occasional jumps to 50s. Your 24-26/38C temps are well beyond okay, if you ask me.
As far as case, I use the aluminum Lian Li 7077 w/ TT Venus 12 w/ fan flipped and blowhole fan in the back also flipped (the other way resulted in board temps that were 2-3C higher while CPU remains around the same either way). I'll probably be going to water eventually as I live next to the ocean and have two windows in front of me that let cool coastal air in which would go nicely with some form of radiator.
I should probably add, and some may not agree, but as long as it does not become unstable, I don't really mind much that it's running in mid 50s fully loaded. It gets things done.
Well I just ordered another 170. I got a retail box this time, so if I don't like the stepping I can just sell it on ebay unopened or return it.
I got it from DigitalHotBuy, only place I could find with the 170s Retail in stock, and damn good prices to boot.
170 Retail $402.45
170 OEM $377.79
Lets hope for a better stepping than my 0536. Im really hoping for an 0543.
I might keep my other 170, get a cheap ass AGP motherboard for it and run it as an DvDShrink/Divx Encoder box. Gotta get all my movies converted to Divx for when I finally find an Xbox 360 to use as a media center extender :P
Any suggestions on a cheap AGP Mobo that would run the 939 Optys?
Almost an oxymoron there, 939 + AGP MB.. I'm sure they exist, but they surely don't really go hand in hand.
Just sell the other, simplify, less crap around :).
It's funny people want 0543 now. Last week it was all about the 053x steps.
Heres an Asrock board that would do the job, AGP plus PCI-E http://www.asrock.com/product/product_939Dual-SATA2.htmQuote:

Well... my abacus pwns you all.
alpha, pretty sweet.
I think my memory is holding me back from getting any higher w/ typical approaches. This is a 0543 O180, it shouldn't have an issue w/ 3 ghz. Although I really haven't gotten too hard core about it as the cooling isn't up to snuff for it anyways. 2.76 ghz dual-core is ridiculously fast as it is.
I have a hard time selling PC Parts, much to my wifes dismay. The reason I wanted and AGP motherboard is I have several AGP video cards that I could use with it that aren't that old. (X850 pro, 6800GT)Quote:

*Note*
This is a brand new CPU. Memory has not been tweaked. Still trying to find the CPU max. Also VCore reported by CPUz is wrong. I set 1.45 x 104% in the BIOS. It should read 1.508 V. Sorry for the huge SS. I hope your browser can resize it.

Sweet bro. Feels good to have some new stuff eh? :)
