Glitch:
Mine is caa2c 0508APMW FYI. It will do a 2650 overclock running games fine.

Likwidkewl: There is no way your temps are accurate with that watercooled system. Your sensor is wrong like mine was. Let your system cool down overnight. Turn it on, immediately go into bios and check your system and power mgmt test against your cpu temps. Your cpu temps should only be a few degrees higher than the other 2. If All three read anything above 27c immediate then you know the probe is messed up. This way you can rule that out. If your cpu temps is more than 5c higher than the other 2 then: your reading is still not accurate. I get a 2-3c higher reading on the cpu at first boot:

system 23c
power 23c
cpu 26 c

after 5 minutes cpu is @ 31c
you can even downclock to 1000mhz to give it the benefit of the doubt. Try reflashing your bios with an older version and see if that corrects it. If not relash back to the new bios and check again. I found out my initial reading of 80c throttle with a warm stock cpu was at least some 20c higher than actual.

played with my caa2c some more. 1.52vcore and stock HSF, it does 2640mhz all day long. Found out my gig of BH-5 doesnt like to run above 245fsb yet :stick: so i threw in a divider, and the cpu will run up to 2755mhz. Have a Xp-120/panaflo on the way to test more :banana:

just did a quick test on my friends caa2c 0503MPMW.
Did 2.6ghz@1.55V and load temps were 42°C on a 7700CU so the temps here are good.
Didn't try higher

My CAAZC 0442 does 2.75Ghz stable. I cant seem to go above 250Mhz though which is a pity.

so it looks to me like these clawhammer's aren't as good as they were supposed to be.
the clocks are similar to mine with th oldcastle on s754! an this chip is about 1 year old......

well......nice clocks anyway.

I'd like to know just how accurate my temps are. Does anyone have experinence in making one of those thermisters that you can build from radio shack parts? Where would they be plugged into on the MB? I've been downloading some 25 files on winmx and defragging and playing a small portion of games all night and MB monitor shows my high was 50c and is now running at 46c. Ambient is 26.
Would the power supply always be above the rest?
Readings now:
PWM 52c
CPU 46c
Case 41c

Highs were:
PWM 55c
CPU 52c
Case 42c

MB monitor does not show support for an Abit Av8 or any of the new motherboards, even with an online update??? I had to select Some other abit motherboard.

Well, I'm at 260x10 @ 1.472v, 24/7 and gaming stable with AMD HSF. I think that it's an excellent processor.

I think that PWM or PWMIC on my DFI is for the mosfets temp!!

ha that's the exactly same v-core i need to archieve 2,6ghz!

I just love this processor, but wait for Venice/SanDiego.
I will test it with water first and maybe put it for sale to get a 3700+

I have a plan on check the accuracy of my cpu temps:

What I plan on doing is obtaining a pure copper metal sheeting/shim such as:

other possibilities are:
CuAg alloy (copper 28% + Silver~78%, Ive found very little about this alloy and from what i've read it has better thermal characteristic than pure silver)
Sterling Silver (but I havn't found what the thermal properties of this are yet)
Pure Silver

I will dremmel a 7mm x 2mm cut-out from the edge of a 2 sq inch sheet of the above. The thickness of the sheet/shim will be ~0.5mm. The sheet is placed on top of the cpu with ac5, thermistor added, and heat sink above it.

The thermister will only extend ~7mm into the cpu. Based on memory I think this would be about 1/4 into the core area.

The only problem I see is the sheet/shim not being finely sanded enough and the correct height of the shim.

Hopefully this way, the cpu temps will read more accurately and reduce constantly swinging misreads.

up to 2805mhz (255x11) 3d01 and SPi 8M stable with 2-2-2-6 timings. :banana: i have reached my goal and now just have to burn this stuff in to make it 32M stable. 1.63vcore and 3.61vdimm FWIW.

I've got mine running at 260 x 10 atm with stock voltage (1.456v cpuz) prime
stable, SPi 32M 3DMark03,05 and my temp is pretty high Idle: 43C load: 53C
ambient: 19C, stock HSF.

I tought that temp was directly proportonal with voltage. It seams that temp
goes up with faster speed even tho the voltage is at stock. can someone
give me more info this? thanks

Working on my CAA2C 0509CPMW. Had it running at 2.4GHz (300MHz x 8.0) at 1.367V (1.40V BIOS). Right now testing at 2.7GHz at 1.48V (1.50V BIOS). Thinks are looking good. Will post bench pics as soon as I get to my final speed and certify it stable.

Late to the party as usual but I just got a hold of one today as I'm upgrading my brother's rig for him...

Changing from 3.2"C"/IC7-Max3 to 3500+/K8N Neo2 for him so I get the chance to test this baby out on either the DFI or MSI boards to see which one OC's better...

Maybe my luck will change & I'll get past 2.5GHz...

Good thing is, whichever is the better OCer I get to keep as my brother's a bit boring.... Likes to run things at stock unless I OC it for him...

Back with some good results hopefully...
