Ket any chance of some SPI32M runs with the P5Q-Pro with ram at 620 - 650 MHz?
Any plans to acquire a wolfdale so you can really push the board FSB wise? I'm yet to see any real benching with that board model (everest & SPI 1M doesn't count).

There is indeed plans for a Wolfie and to see how much further I can push the RAM. Will probably happen in January when a lot of places will be desperate for money and 60-70% off sales. I intend to take full advantage of their plight :D Plans for the Wolfie had to sadly take another back seat, I've been wanting one for a good few months now. This E4400 has served me well, but it just doesn't have enough grunt in it anymore. Even one of my HD3870s are bottlenecked by it, I know with the clocks on my 3870s 3DM06 scores should be around 13.5k, maybe higher, but the best I can get with this chip crippling things is 12k.
How high can you get the ram SPI32M stable on it now?
Haven't bothered with SPI32MB, but everything is rock solid @ 1200 gaming, vid editing, dvds, etc etc. Around 1300 is the top speed for these sticks, just never bothered seeing if I could get them stable at that.
Hey Ket am i to assume the biostar I45 is a piece of junk, and not to buy it, was considering it for a benching board, but i read your bios thread, and have come to the conclusion not a good board.
Its a good board, but the Biostar has problems which I'm rounding the troops up for to try and do something about.
Good stuff
- Stonkingly good OCer, easily capable of some WRs.
Bad stuff
- All voltage granularity options are piss-poor (CPU, memory, chipset, etc)
- PSB800 is bugged, board will not POST with this setting (oddly, when using a 800 CPU such as a E4400 and the setting is left on auto, it works fine)
- Memory compatibility sucks
- Very few fan headers on the board (3, and that includes the CPU fan header!)
- Many reports of crap memory OCs on sticks other boards take into space
Thats just what I can think of off the top of my head. General feeling from a lot of users is that they overpaid for a budget board. To really add insult to injury Biostar have not released any updated BIOS for the board, despite the fact they made A LOT of money with the TPower. I know of some people who tried asking Biostar about updated BIOS code and listed various issues. Biostars responce was basically "Don't like it? We don't care.".
Thanks Ket, you have said enough for me to stay far away from this board, i see on there sight hasnt been a bios update in a long while, im out on this board, heard some good things about it, but now with all those issues, forget it. Looking at the foxconn blackopps, dont know if you know anything about that board or not. Im finding alot of threads and reviews here on boards, that leave you guessing how good they are, they seem to just die out.
Given the recent TPower talks and discussions I've had with some other XS members in the recent past, you may find this thread useful http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=210045
Best cas4 i have managed so far... still burning in the IC's between 2.4 and 2.6v for benching..shooting for 600mhz cas4.

*no 32mil yet :o
CL3P20
Well done, mate
Was up late last night trying to crack 11k, just cant get there, this is the max on my gigabyte, very frustrating.
@CL3P20
Nice work
I'v hit 600MHz CL4 before :D

I think i used just over 2.65v. BTW that was on my Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 ver 1.2, that are now dead :(.
@ WaterFlex - TY..I have been working on 'feeling out' these IC's, I will be using them in my 780iDICE build I am currently working on..and needed to see what they were capable of somewhat.
..I am sorry for your loss :D. *Mine are rev 1.1 ..I might have to try PL8 to stick 600mhz, PL7 is giving issues once latency goes below 50ns on this X48. Either way, Im not giving up yet.Quote:

i was finally able to run 500fsb 1:1 pl8 on my UD3P.http://i37.tinypic.com/30a46ci.jpg
also 506 fsb pl8. and 518 fsb pl8 10k across the board. http://i35.tinypic.com/2yows3b.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/2rra3c1.jpg
Careful, an E8500 like that.. I might nick it :p:
i have a brand new e8400 EO that im willing to sell cheap.ive used it for about 1 week total.went back to my e8500 cause the e8400 runs hotter than the e8500. the e8400 has a lower vid 1.23.batch #Q828A691.oh and i lapped it cause it wasnt flat.it clocks great. if your interested pm me. otherwise it just sits in its box. not looking to make back my money, just dont need it,so it will be cheap!
How "hot" does the E8400 run? I may take you up on that offer, we shall have to see what mr. bank account says next tuesday :D
its about 10c hotter than my e8500.
Good Job Rajda, nice scores, that ud3p board seems nice.
Don't say the board seems nice.. have you seen Gigabytes colouring on their boards? It looks like they get a 3 year old with crayons to decide their board colours :p:
neo mike, thanks. heres a couple more quick bandwidth test at pl8 1:1

Trying running 12:10, or 16:12 10:8 your score will go up. Yes Ket they do have 5 year old color the boards with crayons :D, they do a pretty good job at it.
neo mike, yea i know. im just trying to see how far i can go pl8 1:1
