well it sounds like maybe you have a bad ram or something. I would try to do some memtesting and see if it reports errors at stock... put maximum voltage ram is rated for and if it doesnt pass memtest, try each stick individually.

some data about my Bad Axe 2 FSB.
Max FSB on unmodded mobo was up to 470MHz (E6300ES)
This is with default cooling+ 80mm vent@2000rpm, and of course
I've changed thermal pad to AS5 :)
After Vmch mod with same cooling 3D stable:
1,75V Vmch- 450MHz
1,85V Vmch- 470MHz
1,90V Vmch- 480MHz
2,05V Vmch- 490MHz- screen:
http://www.oc.pri.ee/BadAxe/BX2/i975@490MHz.png
I'm choose to stop for now- 2V for aircooled chipset is enough I think :)
For 500+ FSB I have to choose something cooler- ln2 for instance :D
PS. With QX6700ES max FSB was only 390MHz :(
does this board support a total of 8 SATA drives? (i.e. can i plug an internal drive into the red connector?)Quote:

Sorry if I missed this but I can't find anyone posting about VRM temps in this thread.
Anyone have any temps on the board that are watercooling? Is it even a factor?
Got a few more BSODs
I ran a set of quick memtests.
super talent ddr2 800 at 4-4-3-8
on the default settings it ran fine for one round.
one the 10th test it ran fine with nothing for one round.
With all bios selected I let it run for 2 tests and was up past 1 million errors so I stopped it. I am not sure what testing is best to find out if my ram is crap but I will run a long run of standard and see.
Is this saying the bios is bad for super talent? I hope there isn't a bad factor between the board and the ram.
I tried to put a fan on my NB but I have a Tuniq Tower HS and it doesnt leave enough room. :(Quote:

I went throught all these things too with my gskill pc4000... gskill rep also told me that memtest was good test, but memtest from hci desing is better for testing stability. Its a win32 application.
you might want to post your setting..are you overclockedQuote:

it has been said over and over cpu speed is key not the ram latencies
As soon as I find a Commando, ill buy and compare :)
I had my Infinity facing so the wide side was facing the PSU, not the exhaust, so it didn't partially cover the NB.Quote:

Ran memtest overnight and it ran with no errors. Orthos at 6 hours also ran fine. Maybe you got some bad sticks or are overclocking too much which in turn is bumping your mem speeds up and it can't handle it? A coworker also uses the same board and ram as me and he has had no problems with it.Quote:

I had one and unless you plan on running sub zero on a 3060, don't get it. Overall the board just didn't work well for me. BAD vdroop. Plus xbx2 is faster since it's 975.Quote:

I'm waiting for my new XBX2. -_-
I've been getting those 2 letter codes (bottom right corner of screen) since I first posted, and every time thereafter.Quote:

My RAM (see sig) has performed pretty poorly under intense OCing-- I can get my FSB to 400, giving 3.6GHz, and with 1.425v I was orthos stable for 5+ hours. But after trying to use the PC with anything but orthos I got a BSOD and instant restart. Upon memtesting I saw that, even with tame timings, the RAM was failing miserably, giving errors all over the place.
Is this bad RAM, or a peculiar OC wall I'm experiencing?
Here's what I have going on right now, memtest, orthos, and general-tested stable.

vdimm ?
ignore me when i posted that. They are just diagnostic notesQuote:

2395 BIOS is a crap chute. Avoid it.

Still not prog to overclock in Windows ?
