yeah.. and i hope it's not possible. Hopefully gigabyte wont miss the chance to be the best overclocking board for both rich n poor guys like me :D
anyone elses ds3 report the wrong cpu temp is bios (but not in windows)? I'm running my shtty celeron at stock volts and its listed as an incorrect 70c in bios. Windows however lists the correct voltage.
Yes, but now the gigabyte program doesnt work at all for me anymore, just comes up with the windows thing saying its had to close. :(Quote:

i havent installed a probe yet simply because a probe on a 775 cpu isnt very easy. not only that a probe on a cpu with the IHS still attached isnt very accurate.
from what i can tell its reporting the temps right on the money or awefully damn close.
not if you compare it to coretemp ;)Quote:

you pretty much have to install it when the system is not overclocked.
then it will run fine even when overclocked.
the gigabyte utility is pretty useless, i wouldnt even bother with it.
just use FSBSet for 965.
well using gigabyte easytune5, my idle temp now is 32c (on wc) but using the software "CoreTemp beta 0.9.0.91" my temp now is 50C..

you cant use math to calculate realtime realworld temps thats a straight up fact
ya, easytune and mbm list it as 34c idle or so and the in bios system temp lists it at 75c idle sometimes... something is wrong :)

but everything that i knew of it, and this comings from some of the senior guys here was that it uses math to calculate things.
maybe it is tapping the probe, its not a hard thing to do.
but, my reason for siding against coretemp is that i have too many trusted voices that are saying not to use it thats it is innaccurate.
but either way fellas. i truly believe the gigabyte baord is nailing the temps right on the head.
it's funny how you feel strongly about something without anything to back it up with except your "intuition". I find it hard to believe particularly after your little incorrect theory about the fan over RAM and chipsetQuote:

well i always try to believe the one that shows higher temp bcoz it's not bad too believe the worse thing since it will make i become more careful instead of believe the one that make me think i'm safe and good :D
but when i was running dual prime, the temp in coretemp was 52-53C but when i put my hand around the processor area, i couldnt feel any heat around that area. I'm really sure i'm suppose to at least feel a bit hot at that area since this is the same wc setup with my previous opty 170 rig and i could felt the heat around the waterblock when it was at full load (temp around 42C)
you can calculate your temps within a few degrees based on parameters you already have available............but then again if i was to post the formulae maybe Lestat might be put off with math and all :p:
Well the math is pretty simple:Quote:

Delta_Temp is reported in another MSR and is written by the diode thermal probe inside the processor.
So if you say that this prog is not accurate, then you're saying that the thermal diode inside the CPU is not accurate.
Why do you need to be rich to get better RAM? My TEAM DDR2-667 3-4-4-8 was under $200 shipped and will go to DDR2-900+. It's sold out, but I'm sure other opportunities like that will come around.Quote:

btw i'm still a student.. :D
After looking at your sig, I'm a little perplexed why you have ValueRAM in the first place. DS4 instead of a DS3, X1900XTX instead of an XT, Watercooling, etc. etc and ValueRAM? I think your predicament could have been avoided. Good luck though.
because some of them are from my previous rig..
ds4 and ds3 just differ around $100 (my currency) here and i need that firewire. this watercooling is a combo with my previous casing (3d aurora)..
x1900xtx instead of x1900xt is because at that time there were only 5 xt and 5 xtx came to my place.. all xt were reserved so i had no choice.
I hope i make myself clear hehe..
by the way i just check the ram u mentioned, and price after converting + shipping is $1200 (my currency);)
anyone running a ultra-90 or ultra-120 on this board? I am thinking about getting one of them but not sure if it will clear the big ugly nb heatsink.
i am aimin E6400 8 x 480 ( some where close to that )
i see no reason to get E6600
Can you touch circled areas at load?
I can't keep finger for more than 1 second there, so be warned!
If they are not hot try increasing vcore to 1.5-1.55V and run prime or any other stress test.

all you need is a TT Big Typhoon and that's it.......you're done with cooling......you can bend the fins to cool MCH on a side as wellQuote:
