I would try a bit more NB voltage.

how much higher do you guys think i can push this at these temps.I have cpu vid@1.4 pll@1.56 fsb@1.26 dram@2.0 nb@1.26 in bios
About ACHI Mode:
"With Serial ATA, AHCI also makes it possible to operate other devices as hard drives, such as DVD drives. Serial ATA hot-plugging is also available with only AHCI. Windows XP has supported AHCI since Service Pack 2, but there still are some issues. Windows Vista supports AHCI without any difficulty."
Read all about it here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ON,1594-3.html
To enable ACHI if you have installed Vista already .... cool option ... the driver must be enabled before you can go into bios and change the MODE.
This issue occurs if the AHCI driver (Msahci.sys) in Windows Vista is disabled. This driver must be enabled before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive.

hi I just sold my qx9650 for £400 quite a poor overclocker so nowi have a tuff choice to make to go for the e8600 or q9650. As farcry and crysis 2 are both out soon very demanding games so which 1 would benifit more a quad because this might come into play with these games or the duel for slightly higher clocks. Does any1 have any views on this and which would clock and scale better where talking high end game. And body got any of these 2 with there max clock speeds for the p5q dlx. Because I'm stuck with which way to go.
It will be watercooled looped with my 9800gx2
Thanks in advanced David
Hi I always got cold boot problems except with bios 506. Pc and fans turn on and stay on somtimes keyboard comes on but graphics card didn't want to start. So kept resetting till it booted and aswell my pc take about 30+ seconds to even post. All the time it did this. So your not alone but l want to try and find out why this happens
Not for me. It could be a bios issue, or you may not be fully stable. Try increasing vcore, vNB and vdimm one notch each.
Further than that hopefully if you have a nice cpu. Just keep testing it, your max temps are under 50*C so theyre fine, just watch the vcore. That is already over my personal max so see what you can do leaving the vcore there.
I'd prefer a dual for gaming, 4GHz should be easily done. However these boards clock 45nm quads pretty well too, 450+ FSB is easily done, if I were you I'd grab an e8600, unless other things you do with the pc make a quad a better choice.
Ok so i enabled ACHI now for the fun of it as NCQ is supported only if ACHI is enabled.
And now it is switched over from IDE to ACHI now and i no longer see in device manager the letters ATA beside the drive (but i had to install the) INTEL MATRIX STORAGE MANAGER for this not to see ATA and now under IDE/ATA controllers in device manager its now states Intel(R) ICH10R SATA ACHI CONTROLLER .... yeahhh hawww.
Now i have NCQ on which there is no where to show you if it is or not .... But NCQ is turned on by default by most manuafcturers now, but can't be used unless the controller supports it ... so before it was on, but not being used.
Now i ran a HDtach to see if any difference was made and NO it is still 97.2 MB transfer read and 246 Burst rate. .. so not any worse or not any better.
But ...... ACHI has the hot swapping advanatge and NCQ will be a lessor wear and tear on the drive..... basically it is a FASTER way the controller obtains the data to read an transfer = FAST support, but not faster in tranfer times ... well in larger files .. it will help.
Heres my two posts prior about this option... and AGAIN only VISTA can support doing this After OS was installed .... not XP.

I have a request for those who know a lot about memory and timings.
Can someone please relate the memory timings in BIOS (I have 1201) to the timings shown in memset? BIOS doesn't show things like tRWD or tRP or tRFC so it's hard to look at a screenshot of memset and change my BIOS settings to mimic it.
Specifically, I have the same RAM from this thread and I'm trying to run the 5-4-3-12 timings at 2.0v at ~950MHz.
Thanks a ton to anyone who helps out. :)
@Pntgrd and BeastNotro: Thanks for the info guys! :) i'll try the F6 with XP.. i like having it as a dualboot with Vista
Currently overclocking this E8200.. not showing much promise above 3.5-3.6ghz tho.. still needs lots of tweaking.. anyone else running E8200 with P5Q-E/Deluxe??
I have same memory.
I am running just now 1066 in Bios at strap 266 and manually set memory to.
5
5
5
15
50
Leave all the rest to AUTO.
Also i am using Performance Level 10 .. you have to enable AI Transaction Tweaker and set all pull ins Enabled and set performance level to 10.
I also have DRAM static read Disabled.
I just ran a quick everest test at 1066 ..... oh by the way i am at 1.96v in bios.... this is about 630mb more read then running at 901mhz and latency at 901 is around 71-74 .. where as now its at 64ns ... woot woot.
This is good, but i have not tested STABILITY i only did this for fun of it for now to help ppl out. I awaiting my E8600 to arrive tommorow i hope and then i will try for best memory speeds.
i on Bios 1306 MODDED bios made by KET.
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...6speedtest.jpg
time to tweak mate as I have no idea why the write is so slow... this is with PL 8 and static read control enabled for the rest auto...and bios 0803
http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/425-1066.JPG
Leeghoofd well could it be your at 4.0ghz and at PL8? ... I have static read off, maybe i try with it on .... BUT i just did a 1100mhz everest test now (below) is the results ....... but i dropped the multi down to 6x and FSB is around 412-413... now the thing interesting here the sticks hit 1100mhz ...... great ... but GHZ and FSB suffered .... also if you notice it is about 400mb bandwidth shy of my 1066 test results previously ON this very threads page.
Also on this test latency of course is slower, but faster then at 901mhz.
What OS are you running?
And OH i am still at 1.96v in BIOS.
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...erest_test.jpg
So i take it no one is playing around with E8200 :(
I just got it to start memtest @ 475x7 1.28v.. i know im pumping it with a bit more voltage than required at that clockspeed but looking to see where i hit the wall with this vcore before getting down to skews..
One question, do GTL settings affect C2D OCs as much as it helps C2Q?
Leeghoofd
Here is the test 1066 with static read enabled and PL8, but again write and copy are lower then your 3.4ghz test .. only thing i can think of is you have a 2 x 500gb RAID setup and i am still at 1.96v in bios === Kets Modded 1306.

Hey all.
I am looking at picking up this board to replace my current Asus P5K Deluxe which is a complete POS. Can't even run RAID config on it using Vista, as it just dies during install. It's fine when using an array controller but I moved that to my server thinking onboard RAID will work fine with Vista... wrong.
Anyway enough of that. Is this a STABLE board without any overclocking? I'll be using:
Q6600
OCZ Platinum 2x2GB
2x320 GB SATAII Seagates (7200.10)
Onboard RAID 1
ATI X850XT Platinum
I just want a stable workstation board without the headaches this P5K has caused me. I don't overclock.
Thanks

Thks for PM about this and you don't have RAID --- thks .. now we have to figure out why the difference and i think it is XP64 drivers in the way it control the data through the memory maybe better then Vista 64-bit (with SP1)..... werid as it is .. I have XP64-bit maybe i try it out in 4-6 weeks to test that theory out.
Just a quick post to post to say I am still 24/7 stable at 3.6 with ket's 803 - although I have left the RAM all as auto so in effect its running as if it were asus 803
I have not had any issues at all, rock stable
So whether margin enhancement on newer bioses was a red herring or not (maybe it was just a bad flash), I'm sticking with 803 until theres a reason to upgrade bios
Acronis True Image 11 works great for backup / restore - I have ACHI mode done with the regedit method, and have the express gate disabled for acronis loader to work properly
(got system restore switched off, just use acronis)
Spent too much time trying to get drive expert and then intel raid1 to work, sticking to Acronis as I know its working and the system flies doing backups
NBF
Thks ... as that would make better sense i was talking to a buddy who has a Q9450 and he stated the samething it has to be the 45nm vs 65nm and tommorow i hope my E8600 will arrive and we shall 100% be positive at higher GHZ.... :)
Jaym3
Many ppl are running raid on this mobo without issues and i will be doing so in the evry near future i hope in 2-3 weeks when payday arrives again.
hey guys...I have a newbie question about Crossfire...
Just my CFX setup in P5Q-D not working
I bought 2x HD 4850 and try to setup a CFX
However I can't find any CFX related options in this board's BIOS
Is it will automatically detect and attempt to use CFX mode?
I've tried all available drivers and CCC versions and none of them work:
There are no CFX options...it just disappeared.
Two graphic cards are detected and function normally in device manager (and they both work in single card)
but only one card's DVI slot can show display screen...
If I change the display adapter mode from [PEG/PCI] to [PCI/PEG] it just switch the primary adapter to the PCI_16_2 black one...I'm confused..
Please help ; ;
BTW: Those cards didn't come with a CF interconnect bridge cable. I just bought it from other people who have ATI cards with that cable but not consider to setup CFX so they sell the cable to me...I don't know if older version cables with this card will have capability issues...anyone have any clues? Please...
Youn need a CF interconnect (its a Internal connect for the cards) for CF mode to be shown up in the Control Panel and then you check the box off for it and POOF CF is enabled. .. now i recommend when you check it off ..... reboot always to get the system to fully run proper .. only do so when going in or out of CF mode.
As for the [PEG/PCI] to [PCI/PEG] i would leave it what was the default ..... but i not know if it has to be changed as i not have CF mode, but will one day next month i hope.
This here: (BELOW) you only need one for two cards.

http://www.shopati.ca/product.asp?sku=3186855
http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=3186855
OR you may need the (CrossFire X) one and not the Crossfire one.

Thanks for your help...
And yes I have two Interconnect Cables connected to two cards (But they're not associated with these cards during purchase, I bought it from other users). The MB detect there are two cards so both run at PCI-E 2.0 8x. However there are no CrossfireX Options in CCC and I wonder why...The CCC only attach one of the graphic cards and it shown in GPU-Z. While everest detect one of the cards as 3D Accelerator rather then "Graphics Adapter"...Guys please help:(

Whats slots you have the cards in?
1 should be in the Blue Slot and 1 in the Next slot down = Black Slot .... not the LAST slot.
Also i can't remember right now, but i thought not all CrossFire Bridge Interconnect are the same ..... i mean do you have ATI ones or some other brands?
Anyway .... install like i said and install 8.7 drivers as the 8.8 SUCK ... well they OK, but lower performance and then go into CCC and Crossfire should be there to Check Off the Crossfire Mode and if so . then do it and reboot.
My setup was 1 in blue slot 1 in black slot (last slot was empty, black one again). You mean not all Interconnects are the same? But their appearance are just the same to me...for the brands...I don't know which brand for the cable...I just buy it from other people who bought ATI cards associated with this cable and they don't use it that's all
I've tried 8.6, 8.7, 8.8 and none of them show up CFX option in CCC...sigh
Something is really werid as it should be working ... i don't know why they would be not. and 8.5, 8.6, 8.7 and 8.8 drivers all work for these cards.
I mean't brands as did you buy Nvidia SLI ones and not ATI crossfire ones .. and yes no matter what brand of ATI they are .... they are the same.
EDIT:
It could be 1 interconect is not working properly or not fully connected.
Or
your PSU is not up to POWER to power both cards fully.
I am just guessing and only stating.
Nah I don't think it's a PSU issue. I tried pulling out one 6 pin power connector and the machine failed to POST...also there are cases of successful crossfire with 550W PSU...therefore I don't think so...is it likely to be a montherboard issue? I'mma gonna switch to DFI-UT-X48-T3R...
Its not the motherboard, I have CF 4870 running here no problem, and the CF control is driver based from catalyst
Everest should show ATI crossfire under GPU and GPUz should show CF enabled, but you say your not even seeing option in catalyst
Just sounds like a software issue. Try uninstalling cat and reinstall. I have 2 bridges connected but its not necessary although ATI said 2 can help with bandwidth - see guruof3d forum
This was early build picture but shows slots, its basically same setup except 4870s are double slot width
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...490800x600.jpg
*You can also check each card individually in both slots before running both in CF. When I was messing with the sata ports underneath the lower 4870 and had one card out CCC recognised the card out and then back in and I didnt need to reload it
Hm....I have a few questions here...Does that mean I don't need to configure anything in BIOS to enable CFX mode?
Yes, I checked both cards individually and they both worked perfectly.
What version if CCC you're using btw?
What I'm suspected is that 4850s are not come with CFX bridge cables but does that mean those 4850s are not CFX ready?...I bought the cables from other users that they don't use CFX while they bought single ATI cards...
I've also done some hardcore google searching and seems some people got their CFX worked by using Vista...that's wierd isn't it? (Although they're not 4850s...)
You don't have to do anything in the bios, so if you think you have , just reset it to default values.
I'm running vistax64 and catalyst 8,8 and also had ran 8.7
Maybe your bridges are broken, but seems unlikely both to be broken. If single cards work in each slot then would say motherboard is okay. Recheck manual for which slots, but think you've done that
Here's some good links to ask 4850 cf users something specific, as far as I know they are all based on ATI spec design to be able to be CF'd
You can't mix 3 series and 4 series or 4850 to 4870, has to be apples to apples - your sure both are same?
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html
http://forums.guru3d.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19
http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=87
Yes I'm sure even the brand are the same...BIOS version are the same...everything. However I don't have any confidence on this crappy brand of 4850 at all to be honest (Called Colamax and I'm sure you guys seldom heard of it)
Simply when I first bought these 2 cards, one of them have wierd display when rendering 3D Graphics and another one even don't have any screen projected to the monitor. I got it RMAed and they're checked that both are working right now. The question is, will a CFX cable associated with 2600XT being capable to use at 4850 crossfire??
Thanks for all your help anyways...
NO ....... the CABLES that were used on the OLDER cards will not work as the older cards 1 GPU had a second CHIP on it for the cables to work.
Now your confusing me when you say Cables .... are you meaning WIRE CABLES ..... OR interconnect Bridge Cards like the ones in the pictures?
If your refering to the Bridge Cards .... please use that reference and not Cables and they are not Cables ... thks.
For the cables I mean "CrossfireX Interconnect Bridge Cable" sorry if I confused you...
There are sales in eBay post they sell those cables and he claimed that they're 4800 series capable. But what I saw in the screenshot is they're REV.C cables.
And I know they're from 2600 / 2900 Series cards...I wonder
For the second chip part, I think you're talkin about the Master / Slave card mode in order to activate CFX?
(Oh man sorry it's a little bit off-topic-ed...)
EDIT:
I have both REV.C and REV.D cables (REV.D should be newer revision)
I have also tried plugging in one cable at a time and still not working (no CFX tab in CCC)
Its a reference ATI design, so should be comparable to other brands, I see on the link its CF designed
http://www.colamax.com/contact.aspx
Probably best to find out from them what kind of bridge you need for these GPUs, or maybe find users on the ATI forums. Does sound like the bridge though and if so its the cheapest part of the whole setup, thats the good news.
Good luck
Hi has no one got a q9650 yet. I just would like to know it overclocks on this board. Or if any1 knows if it clocks over 4ghz then that would make me happy enuff to buy 1 instread of the e8600. From what I have read they both clock pretty much the same thanks David
Guys, if someone is far way from their multimeter, what are they to trust? :p
My multimeter is at home, and im at UNI.. not going home for another month or so.. i set 1.28V (cpu vcore) in bios and DISABLED LLC.. and CPU-Z shows it as
1.23-24 fluctuating between the values =/ i thot the board overvolted and not under?
using the latest 1306 bios btw
Also, is it normal for coretemp to show the two cores as having different temps? (48C and 42C) in my case (tjmax = 105C)
Edit: Seems like my board doesnt like x7 ratio =/ =/ currently @ 425x8 @ 1.28vCore (bios) 1.24vCore (CPUZ)
Turn LLC to enabled (not AUTO) as then it won't be so much Vdroop.
Coretemp and realtemp will show temps as they fluctuate on the cores and yes you will see one core higher by a few degrees then the other and that is normal .. what is not is 10C difference showing as then you got an issue.
Other voltages (vPLL, vNB, vFSB,) overvolt by a small amount when set to the second lowest value available for each (auto and the lowest available value overvolt a lot, especially when overclocking), vDIMM overvolts about 0.07 - 0.09v. Vcore however undervolts from bios set value. What cpu-z is showing you can be taken as correct.
If you have a 45nm wolfdale, yes it is common that the temp sensors show different temps, as the wolfdales have dodgey sensors. They only really work and become accurate-ish when very close to the tjmax (100*C) and are nowhere near accurate at normal operating temps.
i want to try 533 or 555 fsb but which settings to i use need help i try some setting but system don't boot
i have a quick question,is it better to drop my multi-down and go for higher fsb on my e8500,or is that just for getting a better overclock on my ram.
@ s1Lv3r - What have you tried?
1.52vPLL/1.12vFSB/1.26vNB/1.32v Vcore/2.14v vdimm
1:1 FSB : DRAM ratio
That allows me to hit 590 FSB & bench at 580 FSB no problems.
Thanks for the input guys!
If on this P5Q-D the bios undervolts.. then is it safe to set 1.3-1.35vCore in the bios with these 45nm Wolfdale chips?
I run 1.38125v bios and I get 1.36v idle/1.32v load with LLC disabled.
Thanks! Will give it a shot..

1.24v vFSB is too high IMHO, it above intel's rated maximum of 1.15v. I don't need to increase it at all 1.12v is fine. The vPLL should also be OK at 1.52v I have not needed to increase mine at all but I do realize each cpu is different. I feel he should increase vcore a notch or two to attempt to stabilize it, as at least the vcore has more safe adjustment left in it. I agree with the rest of it though.
Trying out those settings now, Thanks! :) and no i didnt try Small FFTs only Blend
BTW, i left the vCore as it was.. 1.8125
Now IDLE cpuZ is showing 1.264V and LOAD vCore is 1.232V =/ =/
Started small FFTs now to see if it works.. but why the opposite affect with vCore? shall i enable LLC?
i try your setting and run wprime 1024mb with 8.5 multi and 1.325 vcore temperature near 69 72 C i must change my big typhoon:mad: now i try this setting with 1.3 v core
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/5935/50757638xu6.jpg
im still having those cold boot issues. NB Voltage or Vcore bumps didnt help at all. Its completely stable otherwise so I dont know that the deal is. I guess I'll give the modded 1306 bios a try tonight.
After getting a stable OC, I went back to check on lowering voltages etc. Ends up I was .005 off on my 0/2 gtl setting, tho I needed to bump my vcore 1 notch, which gives me 1.272v Load I also got my VTT down to 1.26v Stable from 1.30v. Nice tradeoff I would say.
Funny thing is looking back at my notes, I had tried 0.670 for that gtl in the past, but my other settings must have been way off at the time.
Larry
OK so priming small FFTs was fine for about 8 hours and then i stopped and it changed the FSB to 450 and upped the vCore from 1.28125 to 1.3
Then two things happened:
1) Enabling LLC allowed to run Prime95 for exactly 1 minute before Core 2 failed.
2) Disabling LLC hanged XP when starting Prime95 torture test and rebooted the system =/
What you reckon i should tweak now?
thanks :)
Edit: Oh and CPUZ 1.47 shows it as 450x6 =/ but validation shows up as 450x8.. wtf?
Edit #2: When Prime95 starts, the ratio in CPUZ goes from 6 to 8.. and a few seconds later core 2 fails small ffts =/
Edit #3: Disabling C1E support, stopped that ratio fluctuation and i booted into windows @ 460x8.. but again core 2 in prime 95 failed both small FFT and blend within 45 seconds =/
Well at 3.4ghz i wanted to see what i can do with my ram .... :)
I tried 1152mhz, but it rebooted at windows scroll bar = more volts or timings adjusted, but i never went for it ... instead i wanted to see what i can do at 1.96v = Mobo Overvolts to 1.98-2.00v, but i set to 2.0v = Overvolts to 2.04 and i error out ... thats weird man.. :)
Here is where it leveled off at 1133mhz ant the volts i am running at 24/7.
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/malox/my1133.jpg
OK figured out the prime crashing problem!
Turned OFF LLC and kept FSB @ 460 and dropped the ratio down to 7.5.. its been Prime stable for 8 hours (small FFTs) going to let it blend while i attend classes =D and then will bump the FSB once i get back .. oh and this is with a few voltages lowered!
Me thinks Iz liking 1306 =D
Edit: Prime95 Blend failed after 8 minutes, i left a loop of 3Dmark and the GPU hung, and VPU recovery recovered the device. Could it be the OC (CPU, GPU/MEM are at stock), or the fact that the PWMs (correct term?) on the 4850 arent covered since im using an Accelero S1 Rev2 with ramsinks on the rams only =/
Well that was when i was trying 3.6ghz and set in Bios to 2.0v = Overvolted on other bios 1103 and 1201 to 2.04-2.06 and i would error out in linpack 4-5 right, dropped it to 1.96v = (1.98-2.00v Overvolted) in bios and all was fine... weird eh? . and ram was only around 900mhz then.
Could have been a bios issue, but i have not since tried that again and now that i am on Kets Modded 1306 bios which has the added premium memory tables, maybe it will work .... but i am not going to try it now as i am awaiting for my E8600 to arrive (it better be today .. :) )
So i will play around then or in a day or so after getting it as who knows it maybe a bad E8600 in temp wise and so forth.
Hey, guys can someone review my settings again. For some reason I was getting random video driver crash only in vista 64 before I updated bios. Any reason why you guys stopped recommending pcie freq. @ 101, I see posts with pcie@ 100 now?
-24hrs prime stable, 100 passes of linpack stable burn test, 12hrs hci memtest/memtest86+ stable.
-Haven't had the video crash since I updated bios, but I'm not sure if it's still there. The crash would happen with pcie @ 100 or 101 with c1e off or on and with performance level manual or auto..

Perhaps your kit just didn't like high voltage? I had an old corsair 6400 kit with quimonda IC's and they refused to boot when at 2.1v or higher.
Bi Lar's kit may just be a little more tolerant to voltage than yours. Strange though, it would be worth re-testing.
Your settings look ok, nothing stands out as possibly causing 3D crashing.
So this crashing only happens with Vista 64, not 32 or in XP? How long does it take to crash out of a game usually? Is it any particular game that does it? Is your video card overclocked? What drivers are you running? Are you overclocking your video card? What happens when you run the system/card stock?
I would just wait and see if it happens again, if it seems stable since the bios update, just keep testing it and report back if it happens again.
I run PCI-E at 100, always have. 101 was recommended by some guys as a preventative measure as I believe on older boards it stopped some problems people were having, but I don't believe it is necessary on these boards.
Update: 480x7.5 (3.6Ghz @ 1.31 LLC Enabled) booted fine into windows .. And Prime95 Blend failed in 8 minutes, small FFTs lasted 2hr 56 minutes (failed on core 2, core one was going strong)
Settings below:
Also, at my previous setting of 460x7.5, small FFTs were stable.. but blend failed after 8 minutes.. and i left 3dmark on loop, came back and saw VPU Recovery had recovered the GPU which had stop responding.. some D3D Devicelost error =/ (XP32, CAT 8.8)Code:AI Overclock tuner: MANUAL

Dont you reckon those are a bit on the high side, mate?
+ Am running 3Dmark06 Bench Loops (3 for each test) and im seeing a bit of artifacting.. this is with the system AT STOCK, i set the bios at SYSTEM DEFAULTS (saved my OC profile before of course)
The GPU/MEM arent OCed.. BUT.. they are cooled with the Accelero S1 Rev2.. and i have nothing on the power regulators except for the puny turbo module on the S1 blowing whatever air it can muster, at it.. shall i swap it with something else like:
a) side case fan?
b) stock ATi cooler?
Edit: it artifacted a bit, but it completed 3 loops of 3dmark bench =/ what to do?
CryptiK
Yeah some of these kits when released back in DEC last year is when i bought mine did not like high voltage even though the rated MAX is 2.1v .. so many could use 1.96-1.98v in Bios and OC to 1100mhz np's and be stable, some lucky ones 1150 was doable and manybe this set i have may do that as well in which i tried 1152 for the heck of it at 1.96v still and it rebooted at the windows scroll bar, which means moe volts needed or maybe loosen timings a little, but i will try again when i get my new CPU which is on truck for delivery today... :)
The thing is i normally don't try any OC on any CPU for a week, but ya know what .. there is the old saying if it can't OC now first day, then it may never do so later on and i have proven that to be true in many of past OC's .. i was a AMD fan ever since i learned to use a PC .. so this is my first Intel Chip and the E8600 will be my second ever.
I just hope my E8600 is a good one with no sensor issues and so forth.
I just got a E8500 E0 and have no problems w/ temps. However my previous E8500 CO had all kinds of different temps. Currently runnning @ 4.5 idle/load 39/67 at 1.35v. It can do 490x9.5 or 4.65Ghz w/ only 1.4v but I need to tweak my ram. Windows load at 500x9.5 w/ same 1.4v but I didn't want to push more since I'm on air. AS5 didn't break in so it will get better in a couple of days. FPO Batch is 822A451 Pack date: 08/07/08 Vid:1.250. Got it in my local Fry's. Great chip:up:
thanks for the reply cryptik. It hasn't happened since I upgraded the bios, only been 4 days though. Yea only in vista 64, never ever happened in vista 32. I even did another fresh install of vista 64 with of course latest drivers for everything. And yes I tried the obvious answer of switching to older video drivers, I used drivercleaner, and it happened with any driver I tried. Video card isn't oc'ed and I've run it on my old s939 system for almost a year with no problems. Whats weirder is it never happened in games only in the desktop at random times, no way to reproduce it. Fortunately it's day 4 with the new bios and so far so good.
BeastNotro ? Kets Modded 1306 bios ? is it ok
Well it is OK and stable.
I wnet back to 1201 for now as i got new CPU E8600 and i wanted to try an official good stable bios i new was good .. so in my Signature it is 1201 Official now and thats is what i am running for now.
1306 Modded Bios all Ket has done is added the premium QVL ram tables and some little tweaks is all and if you never had any issues with your ram on any other BIOS then it will be the same as the Official 1306 as what the Modded ones will be.
So is Kets a better bios = YES as it has the extra Tables in it and that means many will be better off running that Bios for certain modules.
I may go back to it if i feel i need to, but as of right now i am playing with 1202 official again.
1306 still farks my system royally. Had to reset jumper and go back to 803
(I got bored and decided to try 1306 again. Man will I ever learn)
I get loss of speed step, then bios corruption warning then resets to 6xx bios
Need to clear the jumper before installing 803 or it will refuse to speed step with the same AI settings I always use
I never use Speed step always disable all thats in CPU configuration except the multiplyer of course.

Martin.v.r >>>> What batch number is your CPU and what Volts you using?
Most of all what NB, PLL and FSB-T are you using?
Any GTL settings too?
Nice OC by the way now is it 24/7 stable... :)
I finally beat 3.6 Ghz out of my setup
http://justoverclockit.com/3.6sprimesq6600.png
LLC works wonders
Before I could not reach 3.6 because of the temps, not the P5Q Deluxe.
I'm happy I bought this board.
How I cool it
What is the MAX or recommended VOLTS for these below and settings for GTL if needed.. for the E8600 cpu on the P5Q Deluxe?
PLL
FSB-T
CPU GTL 0/1
CPU GTL 2/3

Ok thks but what batch number is your CPU?
Also is this SAFE for 24/7 4.2ghz, i know your running a lot higher volts then me, but what about CPU degradation and such and intels VTT (FSB volts) spec is only MAX of 1.15 on these chips.
cpu 1.336
GLT auto
PLL 1.52v
fsb 1.26v or 1.28 (i forget right now)
Mem 2.00v
NB 1.26v

but what about CPU degradation ? 0%:) watercooling :yepp:
Ok great thks and thats a good one for sure .... now what about my volts i am using and intels specs and such?
if jo got watercoolig is 1,5v  ok temp max 62load :)
I air cooling and yeah i know what yeah mean if temps are OK then it should be fine, but the VOLTS is waht scare me as many have either killed CPU or the CPU has degraded in 2-4 weeks time is to high VTT.
I want water cooling, but i don't know what to buy in which is a really good setup for say $300.00 and will it lower temps 20C ... :)
