I am using a HSF, Zalman 9700 LED, on my E8400.
Will Prime95 do as a stress test??
yes
How do these look?
NBK
While Lin-pack does cause your cpu run much hotter during stress testing, the trade off is that it will tell you far sooner if your system is stable. Minutes vs up to hours that it would take with Prime 95.
I don't have first hand knowledge with the 45nm C2D, but 1.3v+ seems high for 3.6 with your stated cpu.
Did you adjust your performance level down to 5 instead of 8 like i suggested for that boost in memory performance?
Intel voltage range for E8400 0.8500V-1.3625V from their website.
I will give them a call too.

Hi,
Is there anyway not to overclock your RAM when you overclock your processor?
NBK
Here are some more screen shots.
NBK
Here it is! I hope...
:confused:If i set Performance Level 5, i get an error message.
Overclocking FAiled! Please enter setup to reconfigure your system.
If i set Performance Level to 6, i get various BSoDs. How do you get it to 5?
NBK
I'm running at 6. But last I seen your specs your NB Voltage seemed low.
I'm running a Q6700
Everest Report on my system.

Also I have a small 60mm fan under my sound card blowing on the NB to hell keep it cool.
Hi ShawnTRD,
I upped the North Bridge Voltage to 1.49V and i can now run Command Performance Level of 6. Cannot do 5 yet or at all...
Other specs that i changed:
CPU Voltage 1.28125V
DRAM Voltage 2.00V
DRAM Frequency DDR2-961[I would like for it to stay at 1066]
Thanks

I wonder what failed my RAM???
CPU temps did not go over 58C!

I wouldn't worry to much about Command Performance Level below 7. You'll get more out of a higher FSB. Go back to Command Performance Level of 7 or 8 and lower you DRAM Frequency so that you don't go past 1066. If you have the same G.Skill I do (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166) no one gets them much past 1066. See if you can get your self to 450 x 9. You also using memtest86? http://www.memtest.org/
Hi ShawnTRD,
I have moved the Command Performance Level back to 7.
We have the same G.Skill RAM. The DRAM Frequency has always been set to DDR2-961. Is there anyway i can get DDR2-1066 back?
I will run Prime95 overnight. I will run memtest86 in the morning.
Thanks
NBK
Hi,
Will memtest check 2 dimms at a time or do i need to take one out?
thanks
NBK
Hi,
I ran Prime95 for several hours without error...

memtest+ 4.10 found no errors

Hi all,
Is there a reliable way to monitor NorthBridge and SouthBridge temperatures in Windows XP SP3? ASUS probe II just does not work...
thanks,
