88F in my house when I got up...Got it down to 82F now..:D

It's 84F outside... but my 2 GPUs are at 180F... so that's why it's hot in my room. I don't know what temperature it is in my room but I bet it's around 110F+.
I hate heat. I need to move to the arctic circle... :D
Lulz. Last summer, it was so hot in my room, I was feeling cold. :D
I say we all visit some Best Buy, Office Max, Micro Center, Staples, BJs, Costco, and Same Club stores (did I miss any?) with a USB drive containing top secret programs and documents (BOINC, script and weak key) and do some damage!
OK, I'm just kidding (or am I). But that would be fun!

So by everyone taking their GPUs to other projects, XS WCG is now suffering from lack of CPU cores???
It may be a case of having no PV backlog. If they were running only HCC-GPU and then switched over to CPU WUs when HCC stopped it's going to take a few days for them to become trusted hosts and the PVs to validate.

Aah, I thought we were doing around 15-20mil before GPU arrived. We'll it was fun while it lasted and I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here just waiting for another WCG GPU Project to arrive :)

What's up with that!
This is, I think, the result of people running app_config files that prevent CPUs from running regular WCG tasks as well as a few people taking their bat and ball and running home to mommy in tears because there's no more GPU work. The first is an honest mistake.
It's possible that your right but I prefer to think maybe the former. On the latter I'm as sorry as everyone else that gpu work is over for at least now
but like life, someone else makes the rules of the game we play in and no use being upset about what you can't control.
It's like whe my hair started going. I didn't like it but what the hell could I do about it?
Figured there were better things in life to worry about..:D
Still awaiting parts for a replacement rig here.
I have both of my machines fired up running 12 cores on HPF2. I downclocked my A6-3650 to 1.5 GHz so it consumes less power and I get longer runtime/WU. I reduced my 2700k to stock speeds to ease up on the AC bill. It's already toasty in here as is!
What we need is a motivational event. Must be time for SC week :yepp:
I'm perfectly happy to believe the former and give everyone the chance to play it that way (as in come back and just say "Whoops! App-config messed me up. My bad.") ... but there have been one or two people demonstrate the latter. No need to name people, they know who they are. Their character has been tested (and not very hard at that), and they have been found wanting.
Ehm, this is bad.. After HCC I switched a part of my CPUs to run Einstein CPU tasks, but now I'm switching back all CPUs to WCG.
Don't forget the "Allow research to run on my CPU?" setting under "Processor Usage" in the WCG Device Profile, plus some people may not have selected WCG projects other than HCC deliberately or otherwise.
I think lots of people at XS were only in it for HCC in fact.
Hope they come back & crunch.
Me? I joined WCG to do FAAH. I had crunched very few HCC WUs if any until I read the story of the late loonym http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...asic/tears.gif
Reading that makes you want to crunch every thing you can. I have run my GPU's on his account for the last month. Thought that was the appropriate thing to do.
My only rig that doesn't have a GPU to crunch with has been crunching all projects. And now the others are back on my account doing that too.
A SCW sounds like a good thing to get the numbers up. As is a "hardware give away". That could see a few new rig being finished/build.
Got to thinking about what might have caused the drop so I compared participation last may to this may. Current members have increased but the number returning work has dropped.
