Heres one stupid question more. Have i got it right that P4GD1 does not support lowering CPU multi?... and are there any better FSB/DRAM than 4/5? So if i run with that divider with my 760 i can do something like 250 with my ddr and 200fsb with the cpu which is 15*200 3000mhz? I just cant think of me getting that lucky to hit that high corespeeds even with my W/C.

Vcore set to 1.6 but actual is 1.54

You can adjust the multi on your desktop with a software proggie. Just boot up like normal, let's say a 760, so 15 x 133... or 140, or 150 whatever...

You load up windows and you open your EIST program, change multi to 11. Then use clcokgen, another software proggie to adjust your fsb to about 250, sync with your DDR. Depending on your ram type this should be feasible.

THEN, you're running at 11 x 250 = 2750mHz, sync with ram running 250mHz (DDR500) which is nice. I can recommend TCCD like that in MUSHKIN PC4400 to run up to about 280 on the Dothan with a P4C800. But for this board I'd recommend someting that'll run 250 at cas2.

So basically i cant boot with high fsb and are "forced" to run my rig in 24/7 use with multi 15. But if i can do like 2800mhz with low fsb its not THAT slow :p:

CHARLIE, I HAVE A QUESTION.
I CAN BE STABLE ON 2.5G 208*12 RAM 4:5
I CAN BE STABLE IN WINXP USING CLOCKGEN AND EIST ON 10*250
BUT I CAN NOT BOOT BY 10*250, WHEN SETTING LIKE THIS IN COMS
THE SYSTEM CAN NOT PAST.
AND WHAT'S MORE, WHEN I SET IN WINXP AT 10*250, THE MAX FPS IN
GAME LOWER DOWN.
FOR EXAMPLE, IF IT IS BY 208*12, THE MAX FPS IS 99
BUT IF SET IN WINXP 10*250, THE MAX FPS IS 83
I DO NOT KNOW WHY.
I TRIED 201*12 BOOT,THEN SET AT 10*250, NOTHING CHANGED.
I TRIED 201*10 BOOT, SAME RESULT.
WHY IS THAT? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMS SETTING AND

Correct there seems to be a bios limitation on how high a FSB you can boot with at the moment. You do have to boot above 200MHz though to make the AGP/PCI lock work.

As you can see from my score further up, it seems that the Dothan really like thight timings as my SuperPi score is the same with the low FSB and good timings as it is with a high FSB and relaxed timings. I'm not done experimenting yet but I think I will stick to the low FSB.

For everyday use it's also way to much work imo having to lower multiplier and raise FSB with software after you turn on your computer. I want my computer to be ready to use when I turn it on.

Both of these programs can be run as batch programs automatically when Windows starts which results in a small lag. How to do it is described on page 5 of this thread.

The only difference is that i have p-m 760 and 15 multi... so with 200 fsb on boot i would have 3ghz. And i think in P4GD1 the locks DONT work whatever you do?

I boot at a multi of 9 x 210 then in the StartUp I run SetFSB to set the FSB to 280mhz.

You do not even notice it (hardly ...).

What timings are you running your RAM at?
What is your SuperPi 1M score?

I have Corsair PC3200XL running at 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.85v. I sure it can go higher!

Super PI is 28.2 sec
3DMark2001 is 32K with ATI x800xt @ 540Core/560Mem

This is much faster than my 2.4a @ 3.9
PI was 34sec, 3DMark2001 was 24K

The computer "feels" faster and more responsive. :) :banana:

Just wish I could hit 2.7 like everyone else. I have a poor CPU, I believe. :(

Went through four of em, only two could pass 2.7 gigs. :-/ 2.8 is totally a pipedream.

Plenty of ppl have managed 2.7 or 2.8 on better cooling

I am planning on testing a Zalman 7000cu and the Zalman Resonator with both passive and active cooling.

I could also dig out my Mach1 for some testing ..... I guess (PITA)

Maybe with the Resonator, I can get to 2.7g??

i think i have got my 740 stable (passes occt) at 2777 @1.49v (252x11) - zalman 7000 cooled

using a P4C800 (non 'E' ) deluxe - needed soldered volt mod because i could not go over 1.4v even with pin mod.

also tried the bios from an 'E' deluxe gave me opportunity to change multi, but Vcore was still the same.

I also emailed Asus to see when they would bring out a bios to 'officially' support CT479

I dont know if someone else has already asked this but...

Why doesnt my P4GD1 and CT-479 with 760 doesnt even post? :(

All powerconnectors are connected. And the MB led is on. And there are no beeps or so to give me some clue what is wrong with that set.
