those temps are way too good for stock heat sink with a clawhammer, my XP-120 gives me higher temps than those at that voltage and speed, but I can't get it prime stable at that speed, can you?Quote:

mostly lol!. When I'm trying to OC my system to the limit I remove the
computer side panel, I open the computer room window and use a house fan
to blow fresh air into the room. That day the exterior temp was low around
8C to 10C. The Tambient of 22C is not exact, it was the temp in the house
not in the computer room, it must of been around 18C-19C.
I used the same settings today, just for you  and the exterior temp
is warmer today, around 16C. My system is nowhere near stable, it just that I
was excited to hit 300FSB for the first time.

Sorry wasn't implying that you're lying, thought maybe ur sensors were messed or something, right now this is what I'm running..Quote:

my idle is 41C and load is 54C, this is inside a closed case in a warm room, I was expecting lower temps with that vcore though, maybe I need to reseat my heatsink and reapply some AS5..
but I guess 2700 isn't reachable with this processor, for some reason I was so sure that I'll reach it with ease :(
I hope I won't have trouble selling it in order to get a venice/san diego..
My temps don't really seem to increase when overclocking 20%. Their is a slight increase of around 5c overclocking at peak cpu output. Now I believe that my cpu temps are being reported to low. Shows ~34c, 2 degrees lower than my system temps. Where the hell are these probes located anyway! I tell you what, you can touch the leading edge of the xp-90 base and it doesn't even feel lukewarm??!! Feels like touching your table at room temp. Odd. Put on ac5 4 days ago. Was showing 54c idle then. 2 days ago the temp probe bounces down a few degrees lower than the stock hsf to the now 34c. I wish there was a cheap ribbon temp sensor i could stick between the cpu and heatsink safely.
Oke, I can pick a Amd 3500+ Clawhammer with one of these codes CAA2C 0504GPMW, CAA2C 0506BPMW, CAA2C 0505DPMW.
Which one should i take?
my CAA2C 0504GPMW does 2.8ghz at 1.65voltsQuote:

got 3 of these at a local retailer, the 1st ive tried to oc is doing extremly well
250X11@2750 1.6v Stock HS w.tornado attached, 55-56C at 100%load after about 12 hours. atm my ram is the problem, doesnt go past 250 very well at all. Hopefully ill be picking something a little better up pretty quicky =)
Going to test my mate's config that he just ordered.
Amd 3500+ Caa2c (boxed)
MSI K8N SLI
2*512MB Gskill 4400
MSI x850xt
7700Cu didn't arrive at time so I have to do it with boxcooling.
Will be testing saterday and I hope the config does 260*10 at stock voltage or 1.55V. Then we are satisfied for running this config 24/7.
If I got more time I'll try to see how far this proc goes.
:slap:
I don't want to see that!!!Quote:

isn't it too late to buy clawhammer now? some stores already have venice in stock..
I ordered my Hammer last Friday. I couldn't wait anymore and wanted to get my system built. I had it sitting for a months waiting to get everything together and I saw that Monarch kept pushing the date back on the 3500+ Venice so I decided to get the Hammer instead.
lets hope u got a good one, mine wouldn't do 2.7 stable on air so I'm already thinking of replacing it with a venice/san diego..
2.7 (300 x 9) is all I'm asking for
I probably would have waited for Venice if I had known that the Egg was going to start selling them the day I get my chip and that my PSU is on backorder so I had to wait anyway :(. Oh well, I'll probably end up going with a Diego this summer, for the extra cache at the minimum, and play around with my Hammer for now. It's going to be WCed so hopefully I get better results.
alright get this one. I have a Caa2C 0506FPMW. I am running 255x11 at 1.66v With my SLI-DR and good watercooling I am at 40°c idle and hit's over 65°c load! I have seated and re seated my waterblock about 7 times and the temps don't change. Now I went from my winny at 245x11 at 1.66v doing 28°c idle and 38°c load. My temps can't go up that much from winny to CH? When I had my 3200+ S754 CH it wasn't that hot.
So an ideas except getting phase change?
try lowering volts, you may still be stable on lower volts.
I tried lowering down to stock and it was only a diff of 1-2°c. Just to experiment I stuck my winny back in and I dropped 10°c at idle and 20-25°c at load. This CH is fricken hot, but does real pretty well. It's just the temps that seem to be holding me back. Once it get's over 60°c is where I start to get unstable. Looks like I may have to put away my 2.8ghz 24/7 goal again. I need to be able to game. Guess this may be going to the FS section and find a home with someone with phase change.
with some tweaking i got mine running 2.85ghz air now =)
i can do 2.9 but not very stable :( although i have a feeling my ram is the problem the cpu is @ 56C full load
mmmh! yeah your Claw is getting dang hot. I will go water next week, I hopeQuote:

that my temp won't limit my OC. What water cooling system are you using?
yup, these are the hottest running A64's, even with low volts u'll still get crazy high temps, look at my post above (if you haven't already)
yeah they are very hot. I just wish I could get 2.8ghz stable then I wouldn't care about temps.
Kosmic I have a swiftec 6002 WB, AquaXtreme 50z pump, BIX radiator, Delta 85cfm 30db 120mm fan.
I am going to try and load this claw up again and have a go at it. High temps within reason aren't a big deal if you are stable, and my winny is only stable at 1.65 while the CH is stable at almost 2.8ghz I still might just sell it though as I'll prolly get more for the CH than the winny, then I'll just pick up a venice.
Well, I have a CAA2C APMW... I have it under water (cool by corsair), at 2700@1.6v, I'm getting around 47-48c under load, 24 hours prime stable. 1msuperpi@31s 5m46s@8m superpi, I'll try to get some pics up, as I've only seen one other person reference the APMW. Can't wait for the San Diego I ordered!!!!
