No PCI-X slot, it may be planned or might need suggesting. I see the need for raid controllers on this board.
It does have a PCMCIA support.
No news on any upcoming mainboards/bios updates for working AGP/PCI lock? Still waiting for the Soltek 855GEI, seems nobody has gotten it yet...
I badly need a new system that doesn't crash every third day (faulty hardware; BP6 r1.1), but sadly none of the available Socket 479 mainboards seem to have a non-broken bus lock.. *sigh*
wait for CT-479 and get some decent 875P board :) you know how we love adapter in our BP6 world :)
This locks!Quote:

Old news but It still seems to be the best. Now if Intel would update the Sc-478? With ICH-6/7 or etc...Quote:

Yes, but look at when this thread was started? Back in Dec-04, folks were still talking about Intel not having anything to ship. Some were even saying Intel wouldn't do Dual Core Dothans. The rumor has that Intel will moving to Dual Core Sc-771 Dothan/yo-yos up to the 3rd-Q. Like April Fool's day, Intel also loves Halloween for 4th quarter launches.Quote:

As Asus has already shown, if there's a will, there's a way! i875 is still very viable.

wahts nice is that the adapter will also work in one of asus's (and surely others, unoffically) i915 (and maybe higher) motherboards, so both platforms are available
I was running Dothan in July 2004 and they have been available.
Dual core dothan called Yonah .065nm is done. It is socket 480 and there is a dual processor version. It is done.
Intel has moved everything up
Are they planning on releasing the dual core dothan's this year, 3Q? Dual Core dothan sounds pretty nice for my next desktop :slobber: , but I wonder how long it will take to desktop boards offered for it....
I'm still waiting for this Aopen or DFI i915gm boards to come out in the US. I've seen the Aopen on more priceguide sites in other countries, too bad I can't understand any of it.
Yes, but remember when I speculated that Intel Killed Tejas and Canned P4 because they had something planned? That's not an Expert opinion, just what I've seen Intel do since 1988. They never kill something without anything else to fall back on.Quote:

how different is socket 480 from 479 and 478. it seems like intel may be making incompatibilities on purpose almost, probably for no gain, sort of how they switched to lga775. i hope an andapter comes out.
Two dual-core CPU, i.e., a total of four cores?Quote:

did anyone read the thg article on the s480 dual core p-m? they downed the article before i had a chance to read it.
btw, i dont mean to be flaming in my previous post, but the number of sockets intel has right now is a little crazy, s478, 479, 480, 775, 603?, whatever itanium is. i wish these dammned chip companies stuck to one socket (both amd and intel, no reason for s754 other than marketing)

What about putting a Dothan 755 under a R404/CO2 cascade ? :D

CpuZ 1.28 validation :

What is the current WR ?
The Aopen i915Gmm-HFS is out in Germany
It Costs 239€ + transport. Much better than the 350$ Japan ones.
Someone interested?
Heya guys, just want to check if my Dothan hits WR on air for 200FSB on native i85x motherboard. I keep seeing many not passing 170FSB or something like that, and the 220FSB was on an Asus mobo with converter =)...
Here's a validation link: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=11072
This system is on-loan, so if I hit WR, maybe I can extend playing with the baby :):):)
btw, on stock cooling, non-modded mobo, stock vCore and vDimm..
what agp/pci divider are you using?Quote:

that is pretty impressive, i think a couple people in this thread were saying the integrated video pretty much limited the fsb a lot lower than it did with a vid card.
yep, and I am using 2x256Mb unlike most i've seen that tried to run them at 1x256Mb ;)....
so anyone knows if I hit the WR here? please advise, i just want to play with this baby longer until someone can lend me a good AGP card for some benching...

are you running 1:1, 3:4, or 3:5?
edit: nm saw that you were running 1:1
with 1:1 i can hold a screenshot up to 190, but nowhere stable.
No worries ;)...btw, am benching at 200FSB now. i run an Aquamarc benchmark: http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_vie...run=1898178648
The CPU score is just awesome, at 2Ghz, it score 9k+ on the CPU...too bad, graphics is 486 *lol*. It takes awfully slow to complete *lol*, I run p95 and it's stable for about an hour or so. But I stopped it since I ran AQ3 and it will only further slowdown the benching. Here's '01 my score *lol*...http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8523743
The 3D benching scores are nothing to brag about, but at least it helps remove suspicion of a cheat =)...
