Okay, so I'm back...just placed an order for the newest Z68 version of this mobo. We'll see how it goes...again.
When I first boot my PC the vga and boot led's light red.
Should I be worried?
Thanks.
Hi again, two more issues....:p:
Firstly, which version of turbo evo is best for mive? Because the one that is included at ai suite pack ive donwload from asus site, it show the bckl freq as 4,2mhz...
The other and more important problem, is happening when every day i open the pc...It stacks at windows load bar and a blue screen appears with code "page fault in
non paged area". I have to flash the bios or set manually the vdram..then boots and all day working stable without problems.
The memories pass all stability tests. The only strange ive noticed, is the psu 3.3v that in bios it seems to be a little down at 3.050v-3.100v...
Anybody having issues using SATA controllers on PCIex16 slots?
@ Raja@ASUS
Is it OK to run the ram with 1.65V for 24*7 or could it damage the CPU (SandyBridge)?
Normally Intels Spec say max 1.55V...
Everybody is saying something different...
Maybe you could help me.
I have here are problems with the USB
1,2,3, and 4
Sometimes even leave work, but know what it is
I have the 1409 bios if anyone can help.
I have been playing around with this mb.
One thing that I would like to know, how much would affect if I use instead of bclk 100, bclk 100.3 like it is set as stock when I used for the first time the mb??
And another thing, does someone of you uses one of the thermal sensors that comes with the mb accesories?
I would like to attach one of them to the vrms, in order to change T. PROBE to EXTREME. What you think?
I don't really understand, affect what? You can use any BCLK as long as your rig boots.
Those sensors are useful and working fine. I used them on R3E, but now I don't, as this board is too cool.
BTW, I played a bit last night with my Hypers, as it's too hot for anything else.

With affect I refer to stability. Or decrease life spam or as far as I know, bclk is related to the vga isn't it? If so... may be could affect the vga too.
That was the meaning of affect.
And another thing that was spoken many times, which would you recommend as maximun vcore for 24/7.
I read about the maximun is 1.35.
And I have mine at 4.5ghz with 1.304/1.312vcore
Oh, that... Stability wise, you go as far as you can go while keeping it stable. I have seen no data corruption while testing for max BCLK. Using SSD on Intel's controller.
About graphic cards, I ran NVidias at 125MHz PCI-E clock on NForce chipsets, and at 115MHz at Intel's chipsets. No problems there. I don't really know about Radeons.
Hehehe... Max vCore... My favorite. :D
I run my 2600K at 1.5V 24/7, so it's under Intel's max recommended voltage. Ran 980X/990X at 1.475V, over max. I would run 2600K up to 1.6 24/7 if I could cool it, but high frequency make much heat.
Just for those disproving my voltages:
Intel Q6xxx series max voltage is 1.55V - they took much abuse with few killed ones.
Q9xxx series max voltage is 1.4V - many dead.
i7 9xx (Bloomfields) max voltage is 1.55V - took so much abuse, few killed.
i7 980X/990X (Gulftowns) max voltage is 1.4V - many, many dead.
i7 2xxx (SandyBridge) max voltage is 1.52V - some dead already, but IMO caused by different reasons (Air cooling on high frequency, high VccIO, VccSA, etc...)
You get my point?
People get used to one generation that can take the punishment, then continue punishing next one, until ending up with dead CPU.
Ahaha okey, good to know.
I'm running mine with the stock 100,3. I had it previously with 100. Thats is barely nothing but I will leave it that way.
So intel's maximun recommended voltage is more than 1.5?
I thought it was 1.35.
And then about your clarification about others cpus, you have tested all of them and have many of them dead, isn't it?
So refering to your experience you found the maximun vcore for each generation, after many dead ones... kill one save a thousen(?) :yepp:
What I couldn't understand is your last comment, what do you mean with "then continue punishing next one, until ending up with dead cpu"?
Sorry
Thanks for your reply!
I'm playing with this...

Apart from being stable or not.
Which to you seem to be a high value and which is a lower one?
There are many options that I don't fully understand what they do, but judging from others settings I end up with what you see on the picture.
What I ealready achieved is 4.5ghz but with 1.290vcore and I think it is a little bit high, isn't it?
Thanks!
For a local OC Contest we ran 32M at 40x multi and 1600 divider locked. Rocksolid board

No, I didn't kill them all. I would need to be filthy rich to do that. :D
I just read Intel's datasheets and pay attention what is happening around the net.
My last comment was about people getting used to high voltage CPU that can take the punishment, and then killing low voltage CPU's when using high voltage like used to do.
It's not so bad, don't worry. There are better CPU's out there, but yours is not bad. It looks similar to mine.
You could try lowering VccIO, if running RAM at 1600MHz. No need for increased voltage at such speeds.
of course, thanks for the reminder.
jaja yes for sure you should have a wallet plenty of money.
Ahah now I get it whay you tryied to say. Yes you are right, not all the cpus are exactly the same. But well... everyone has its own ideas.
Ok well I will not worry that much, is all I can promise :(
I will lower the VccIO so, and there is something else that could be lowered?
Would be great if you could post your bios settings if you cpu is similar to mine, may be I can try some of your settings if you don't bother.
Thanks!
PD: Before I forget I add your account to my messenger, if you use it often we can talk there too.
Thanks for your help again.
this is my result for 2600k + Maximus 4 Extreme + 2x2GB 2133Mhz RipjawsX
