Prepare Thyselves
:sofa:
He had the interviewer laughing with "Ultra Low K dielectrics":p:
I did also, and am very excited about Turbo Core. I myself don't usually have my rig OC'd 24/7. I like the conservative route. This will be nice for normal use. Though I do have my 965 crunching @ 4ghz for the WCG challange. I Still will try and push the chip though, and am wanting to see how the OCing and Turbo work together.....
then you will love tubro core, no doubt :) if you get the 1090T, then you can play with the multi and HTT to estimate a desired turbo clock speed, which is really great
this will be interesting.. :yepp:
Gigabyte is a hit an miss, not stable at all and hardly ever post. I have tried all Bios to date. The MSI, well I still cannot believe with all the extreme peeps being on here that there is no way to recover this board from a bad flash. I still can't find a connector or a cable that I can plug into the boards JSPI1 connector. I should be able to fix it with my working PC connected to this spot on the MSI (see image below). I found one on Newegg open box for 95.00 I might by it if it doesn't disappear.

Wow.... This is cool Simon! :D
I hope I have a shot at earning a 1090T!
My GBT 890GX died a horrible death and I almost bought a Crosshair IV Formula today.
I've saved enough $$$ for one new part.
Supposedly ProVantage has them ready to ship. I called them on the phone and they said I could have one by Friday but it required 2 Day shipping charges and I had to pay Ohio Sales Tax even though it was coming from Calif... :(
The cost would be ~$270.

It sucks, but I'm probably going to have to choose one or the other.
Right now, I'm leaning toward the new Mobo. I have a decent 965...
Bring on the challenges man, I'm willing to work for the cause! :ROTF:
I too enjoyed listening to the interview. It was nice to hear your voice Simon.
Now, if only you would give interviews with the same drama and flair that you apply to the challenges here!
THAT would be entertaining to hear!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. I've been lurking while you've all played with your motherboards, and enjoying your efforts.:toast:
Too bad you couldn't say "no motherboards were harmed in achieving these results". Looks like your van HTPC might have to wait for another day charged. But it sounds like you all had fun and learned a lot.
A fair deal of info here, if you haven't seen it already: http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=133578.0
You could probably use some old front panel connectors to hook it up :)
I taught the asus a few new tricks, beat our old ln2 result by 9 points with only air on IGP.
Ln2 soon ;)

chew: wtf, your NB ?! How do u set 3400 MHz for benchmarks:eek: ?
maybe cpu on phase, igp on air?
heres a 3dm06 run i had before i ran all the benches for simon :) 1150mhz core 1700mhz sideport on air  this was pretty fun, for 700mhz default core these things oc pretty good :p:

xtremely impressive HD4290 clocks!

dont know...for phase he dont need 1.53V at 4270MHz, or maybe yes?:) Or watter? he like most LN2 and than watter and dice :P
phase on cpu on my worst chip actually.....If you keep cpu speed low you can usually crank NB.
