Interesting info on that temp. sensor placement. Well at least I know now that as long as the mobo temp is under 60, I'm not going to worry about it. And hopefully these lower temps with the new bios are accurate. :)

I have a quick question for you eva2000 -
Given the stellar performance of this motherboard on P35, do you think it's possible that an X38 motherboard could offer better performance with the same components (DDR2, C2D)?
Disregarding SLI and price, is there any reason to hold out for the X38? This board has amazing reviews all over and I am wondering if the PCIE2.0, upgraded memory controller, etc., are really going to be better than Asus's work on this piece of hardware.
I'm waiting to see what x38 brings to the table. I'm not interested in sli/xfire either. But, if x38 can deliver 9000+ mbps and <50ns at 500 1:1, I'm all over it
new steppings some are good and some are duds so don't be fooled by the early hype yet.. no E6850 but got something close.. it's little brother

new thread for those cpu adventures with P5K Deluxe :yepp: :D
fan over that area dropped my board temps by 2-5C :)
yeah from what i read X38 is going to offer better performance...
I might be getting an Asus P5K Premium P35 board meant to be higher model of the P5K Deluxe but not sure of the differences yet so beats me heh
You are the man, EVA!...like your style!
I noticed on Asus' site that they listed the 404 (haha ironic name) bios.
Aside from the bios there are a couple chipset driver updates -
- Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager Driver V7.5.0.1017
- Intel ICH9 RAID Driver Disk Version 7.5.0.1017
The drivers have been out there for a while but I haven't updated. Do you folks get your chipset drivers here, at Intel site or elsewhere?
I'm surprise you didn't point out that 0404 is a beta BIOS.

I'm not under any NDA, as long as I don't disclose my source. I've lapped the top flat anyway. I haven't made any screenies or anything. So far I'm pretty happy with it since I've wanted a Q, but they were running too hot and didn't overclock as high as I would have liked comming from an X6800. That seems to have changed with these new g0 ones. Combined with the P5K=dlx I have been able to run memory as much as the high 600's. I've scalled that back for now at 487/560ish? if my memory is correct.
This is my stable overclock using a pair of Ocz alpha 1000vx2 dimms. With 2.25vdimm set in bios. My question is for eva2000. Do u think i could join the 700 club with these sticks and how much volts do u think i would need? Oh and also... would they survive? lol
650 at 2.25? Those are some impressive sticks!
Hey guys , I got my 8800GTS connected @ the Blue pci-e slot, I want actually to move it up to the black slot. Not sure but I heared something that the black onces doesnt run pci-e 16x? And how can i see if it is pci-e 16x? Any help appreciated
use CPUz program to show you what the PCIe peg link speed is set...you will find that on the "mainboard" tab at the bottom.
aight thnx, but do u know if the black slots will give u the same speed as the blue?
*edit Any one would be so kind to give me the newest Marvel Yukon Lan drivers and the newest Intel chipset drivers?
Had to boot at lower fsb and change ratio cus of my x6800 fsb wall at 530 but got this at 2.25vdimm
set in bios. Booted at 400fsb and used setfsb. I wonder what these sticks can do at there rated 2.3v? I would like to try it but my first 2 setts died at 2.3
not hard getting 9000+ MB/s in everest
@8x493FSB at 1.6375v bios set

Unlucky eva you nearly got the 10k memory read MB/s in everest.
Nice going though:D
Someone could put SS with 400FSB@DDR1200 orthos blend.
Thanks
