Lol, I pm'd you as well :D
Could you please let me know as soon as you try it because they are really hard to get hold of in the UK, thing is though, I haven't got a clue what to get if they don't fit - have to make do with a Ninja.
Thanks man

I like this board alot too even without mods! I'd really like some however, mainly vcore :D :toast:Quote:

with a X6800, it could happen more easily.
Edit: but the vMCH & vdimm was really sick.....
What are the suggested memory brand/models for this board? WIll be matched with a E6600.
Thank you.
Would this apply to people that doesn't do mods? Or does it only apply to the very few that could handle a soldering iron?Quote:

P.S. 400*9 with C1E & EIST ON.
That's my 24/7 setting on air, 3.6 GHz @ 1.4v with power management active. I like it. 2.4GHz idle and 3.6GHz load.Quote:

"Above you see the problem I encountered with the board when mounting the Noctua NH-12 cooler. This is something that you might encounter with any cooler that comes with a metallic mounting backplate - there were long strips of solder on the back of the board, that might get shorted out by the backplate. The paint on the Noctua's black paint would probably have kept it from shorting, but I was not going to take any chances... so black electrical tape to the rescue!"
i had the issue also it slowly got worse and worse and i lost my raid. Now i am back to 1.2 bios non raided=( too lazy to raidQuote:

Here's the max FSB I got:

It should be noted that I have removed the northbridge heatsink and replaced it with the thermaltake extreme spirit chipset cooler. I also removed the thermal pad under the southbridge and replaced it with ceramique. I was also benching without a case and in an airconditioned room with ambients of 24C (though you'd call that hot right Bachus?)
one more thing,
why Abit uses ALC882-M instead of ALC885 or ALC888 for the AudioMax module??
Because ALC882 is better than ALC888 and ALC885 is too new and not much better than ALC882.Quote:

if anyone wants to know vcore mod for this board, it's published in this thread

THANKS HIPRO!!!
Hi everyone!
I am having problems running a pair of Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 modules at the factory default settings on the Aw9d-max. It should run @ 800mhz and at 4-4-4-12 timings but it fails to post if i set it manually to those timings/speed. Now i am running at 800mhz (2:3) with 5-5-5-15 timings. I have the 1.2 bios installed on the mobo.
Anyone had the same problem?
I think someone was having the same issue with those modules on the max board and he even posted it in this thread but i cant find it so i would muchos apretiate it if someone would help me out with this.
check your vdimmQuote:

I mean...cmon. I feel so dumb atm. The vdim was 1.80V, sure it wouldnt run at CL4 since the modules require 2.1V. Me so newbish. Thanks kenofstephen for refreshing my memory.Quote:
