Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, Pretty good start

guys, anyone here with e6300 and ds4 /ds3.. can u guys let me know what voltage r u using @ 2.7ghz? i'm already set the vcore at 1.4, vmch +0.2, vdimm 2.2v but still cant make it stable.. the temp is ok.. full load @ max 45c..

max bootable fsb 460!

max primestable @ def. VCore (and Speedstep work fine, 413FSB x 6 @ 1.16v :p: )

2.7 stock volts still for me on air. In fact at 480+ I'm still on stock vcore with E6300 ES step 5

I'm wondering whether I should get OCZ 2GB Kit DDR2-800 Gold Gamer XTC Edition for 157$ after MIR on ZZF it has CL 5-5-5-12 timings, or G.SKILL 2GB kit DDR2-800 on neweg with 4-4-4-12 timings for $178 intel only.

I have the DS3 board, Ultra X-2 550W PSU, and 7900GT KO. I dont want to spend more than 200$ on RAM but want the best 2GB Kit...what you think guys? Thanks.

and maybe that is why step 5 is better than step 6. Or issit my ram that holds my oc back? How to test whether it's ram or cpu?

my ram limits my B1 to 2.3GHz until monday :)

drop the multi to 6x and test your RAM clocks first

I hope so! Aiming for 450x8 E6400 on air. Would a Scythe Ninja be good or should I use stock HSF and wait for the Tuniq to get back in stock before buying?

irenic do you have a stepping 5 or 6? your sig says stepping 5 b2? stepping 5's are b1.

eh my bad. mine is stepping 6. :D

if you have not yet flashed to f3 bios, try that, maybe that will help.

yeah, it is already in retail here at malaysia but i guess conroe still not arrive in aussie since my family is in sydney as well..

first : FSB (max or boot) depends of the cpu you got.
My 6600 can actually boot at 400X9 without a little problem

But it can't not do as my 6300 do : 475 boot no pb.

Even with 7X it can't boot over 420 directly (from 266 to 420 without stepp) but sometimes it's ok :D.
