UK Conroe Consumers Look Here

I'm gonna be pushing mine to the max for a while that it's not in the case. Then I will start benching inside the case (unless I get some mad results in which case i will continue to see where it goes).

I'm gonna be benching inside the case to see what us 24/7 users can get. I still may never get the highest scores fomr inside the case, but there's just no point competing for the glory and get anywhere near Coolaler's / Sierra Bound's marks. I'll be gaming on the thing too and I'm modding my P180 for ÃœBER airflow.

I've just finished putting together my Asus P5W-DH and E6700 ES, and despite completely wiping the CMOS (removed battery and switched jumper for 1 min) I can't see anywhere in the BIOS where I can change the multiplier? The only reference to the multiplier at all (10) is on a page where the general CPU information is provided - cache size, make & model, etc - and its greyed out like the rest of the info.

Any thoughts?

For the last week they're telling me they can't ship because Royal Mail gave them the wrong labels WTF??:nono:

Can anyone recommend a retailer who have e6600 in stock and can ship to an irate consumer in Ireland?

My E6600 has now shipped from Dabs. £207 delivered as they has a £20 off special when i ordered it woot.... what a steal :)

When that arrives i can decide on the E6700 OEM that does 3.77 for benchmarks / 3.6 stable or the new Retail Boxed E6600

EDIT: 75!?!?!?! I paid £44 shipped from Germany!!

It's not £75. ƒuck me. Why you say that? - YOU HAVE TO PUT A PRICE. I WAS GETTING STUPID OFFERS FROM PEOPLE SO USED THAT AS A GUIDE.

Thankfully people actually read the post and offered.

I never expected £75. I put that and wrote all offers listened to. And that's what I got... people offering! - As long as I didn't lose out on what I paid shipped included from Japan I wasn't bothered.

It's now at £49 and i think I'm gonna let it go by end of play tonight....

@Timko - The fact is. You can say "if it was available here... if it was available there" well if it's not, it's not. But one is available from me. Even if I sold it for £23 or £150. I have one available right now. Some people want that. Obvious by the people who have spent £20+ more on a Conroe as they were in stock. Just take a look back in the thread and you'll see that.

To be fair...i'm still surpised as yours is the first retail E6600 that i've seen anywhere near 3.7 and well above the supposed fsb wall at 360+...even if it does take 1.55v to get there.

Care to provide a bit more information? bios version? other voltages? etc.

This is encouraging for retail cpus as so far they've failed to live up to the ES's.

I'd keep the one stable at 3.6Ghz with the lowest voltage. Btw what did that need for 3.77 and what were the temps?

Looks like it should fit. Would be good on 975, think maybe I could replace the the mosfet cooler with lots of vram heatsinks too.Would transfer the heat much better and make better contact so probably an improvement even with less heatsink surface area.

Yes it does fit. I'm tossed up between that and the TT E-Spirit II (link here)

The TT120 is sold now. and no. not for £75. Will have to sell this other spare one now....

To be fair to lawry if I saw something being sold for £75, even if it said "Offers around £75" I certainly wouldn't expect you to be considering offers that were nearly half that amount.

New ATI cards are not far off now so we expect to see some price drops i guess. Still very good price.
