Didn't go out today, getting sick of the heat........nearly 3 months without a drop of rain and in the mid 30'sC here everyday so I did a reflection of me :D

feeling like a bird in a cage due to the terrible weather and no interesting landscapes around the past 2 1/2 weeks, got so bored, that I decided to do some silly shooting in the car going to a business meeting :D

Thanks BZ, I'll keep that in mind, I learned a little :eek: the evening I took the birdy shots re what my current 18-140 f/3.5-5.6 lens is capable of and how it performs in low light, I'll try again using my 35mm f/1.8G next time, being the only other lens I own ATMQuote:

All done with Canon 600D + Canon 50mm f/1.8, 1/160, f/5.6, ISO 200
See, the Nikon cameras have a slightly larger sensor, so my crop factor is closer to 1.5x. Which means a 50 is only 75mm. It works, but it is just barely adequate for portraits. Better would be 60, which would be like a 90mm lens. Even still, some portrait photographers insist 105mm is more flattering.Quote:

Btw, does 500pix require a different optimization before uploading than let's say Flickr?
Even if I've uploaded a 3000px at the long end w/ 240ppi, max quality .jpg, it would still result in a pixelated and blotchy images.
On another website it can be solved by using a .png file which I can't do the same for 500pix.
I think I've tried everything; adhered to 500pix's guideline in uploading, tried using all 3 colorspace, etc.
...I'm starting to think my ISP is compressing images from 500pix. Your thoughts?
