This ALBATRON board looks sweet !

The company said that an Intel Pentium 4 3.40GHz processor can be overclocked up to 4250MHz using air cooling on the new Albatron PX975X mainboard, whereas the same chip on a typical platform runs hot at about 3910MHz when overclocked
Quote:
Two 24-pin EPS12V connectors, which enable delivery of up to 450 Watts on motherboard alone, just for your overclocking pleasure. If CrossFire or SLI - via that leaked ULi patch - are used, the consumption of the power grows to unbelievable levels, we were told.
These features should help alot in OC. Good job ALBATRON who would have thought. :clap:Quote:
In order to be able to support two PSU's, company waved goodbye to old way of regulation power, so the PLL circuitry is gone for good. Digital clock regulates every rail of power.
I hope someone gets this board in XS too see the real POWA of Conroe...
Dual power supplies? Will we all need new cases?
Try 1Gx2 RAM :D
Only if you buy that board and don't have a server case with room for 2 PSUs. Rest assured, that won't be a "standard" for Conroe boards, but certainly could be handy for using 2 smaller/cheaper PSUs to OC a big system with top end CF cards :)Quote:

If it supports Conroe, they will surely have a major problem with XS members and the lifetime warranty :D
I've just finished reading this thread from beggining.... one word VW... AMAZING!!!
can't wait fall 2006 :D
must save my money. how about some pcmark 05 for some crazy mutitasking benching.
The first Coolermaster Stacker supports two PSU's and is BTX compatible so if you're considering this mobo for a future Conroe purchase maybe that would suit you well, its got very good air flow and loads of room.Quote:

And yes, I am biased after being stung badly by albatron in the past, their tech support was nothing short of laughable
Just wondering. Howcome my A64 3000 Venice does better WinRar than Conroe?

It's because your processor is heavily OCed.
All Conroe benchies by VW so far have been at stock speed.
*The Multithreaded score of the Conroe is way way better than yours btw
nice thread crap, noob.Quote:

Thats a little harsh, its a valid question and perhaps worth investigating what are the main influences in that particular benchmark to help understand how it performs on the different platforms.Quote:

As for the Venice getting higher single threaded results, I'd guess its going to come down to the higher CPU clock, FSB and tight memory timings due to overclocking, I'm not familiar with the test so don't know what its most dependant on.
Some Cinebench 9.5 and WinRAR comparation with a X2 (mine ;) ) @2.4ghz and @2.6ghz :
Cinebench 9.5:
Conroe 2.4ghz 738
X2 @2.4ghz: 669
X2 @2.6ghz: 727
WinRAR 3.6:
Conroe 2.4ghz: 1120
X2 @2.4ghz: 1168
X2 @2.6ghz: 1253
About ScienceMark, I haven't the unofficial binaries used lately by VW. So, with the official ScienceMark 2.0, this is the comparation:
Conroe 2.4ghz: 1308.9
X2 @2.4ghz: 1322.99
VW, can you run 7-zip v4.32 built-in benchmark?
7-zip download here if you haven't it http://www.7-zip.org
look :Quote:

like I said, that lately SM result is with some unofficial binaries (I haven't them, and I don't know if they are available for download, at least, I've not found them). With the official ScienceMark 2.0 (the available version in www.sciencemark.org), it's 1308.9 for Conroe ;)
LOOK, still no match for Conroe clock for clock though :)Quote:

I love that Molecular Dynamics Score!:D Conroe is definitely a must. God Willing.

Fellas, why don't we just wait and see (from 2.4ghz) Conroe @ 3.0ghz+ and see how well the annihilation goes?
Now, let's just look at a Pentium D 920 overclocked to 4.02ghz which is common for this CPU to reach that speed and a Pentium D 955XE overclocked to 4.37ghz which is also common againts an X2 3800+ overclocked at 2.59ghz and the FX60 overclocked at 2.90ghz....shall well? Well, let's see it!.
Amazing that Conroe is scoring all that in a semi-buggy board. Can't wait to see what ASUS will pull......
Victor, that Tuniq Tower 120 will be my choice for when overclocking my future Conore, I'm cheap so I won't be buying the Swiftech WC kit after all, look: Ambient temp is 35f. :D

Just like to know how the heck I can control the Vc, it's all over the place even though I have it set to 1.4500.
Forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered, but has the April 4 BIOS release (908) been tested with a Conroe on a current D975XBX?
hey nasgul, how did you get that manufactured and supported by thing? :toast:
I don't think the testers have this board , maybe Fugger could get one easily but he is very absent these days.Quote:
