Nice find...but im a bit of noob when it comes to these things. :confused:Quote:

We all know that the mem is recommended speed rating is 700mhz...but for it to run at that speed it needs to have more volts. ATi obviuosly only gave it enough volts to run at 500mhz.
Not a single white dash.Quote:

Spajdr saw the white dashes too, they are pretty hard to see and im starting to think they are heat/voltage related.Quote:

My GPU idles anywhere from 36-41C. Yesterday it took a while for me to get normal max load temps, but it was sitting at 50C most of the night, till after I played quake which got up finally to 54C.
50C Idle sounds warm, quiet warm actually.
Whats the air temp where u stay? Or is your room airconded?Quote:

Thanx
U help is appreciated ;)
Room temp is around 21-23C normally for me, at least I try to keep it around that temp during the winter. During the summer it can get up to 25-30C easily, but by that time I usually have the A/C on so I don't have to worry about that.Quote:

That could account for the temp difference between our idle temps.Quote:

Today I took my asus X1800XL and what a surprise :nono: Memory is 2 nsec
samsung BUT BC20 it means 2 nsek . In the first moment i want ti kill asussss then i try overclocking without no mercy I want to kill the card BUT,
core successfully 710 and memory 900 it means 1800Mhz .
I am surpised is it possible 2 nsec memory 1800Mhz ,
tomorrow I will take picture to prove myself.
Ised overclocker software 708 core -1,325 volt amd 900mem -2,2 (max volt)
What a mistery????:slobber:
One of these or a 7800GT?
Dont be biased ;)

Use ATITool to overclock it. Just be warned your memory will not get as high as it is now, but it will be faster overall since ATITool doesn't loosen the memory timings.Quote:

Finally I bought my Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 cooler too today:) My overclock record raised to 658/1251 MHz (ATiTool 0.25 beta10) with 1.285/1.965/1.945V (shown by ATiTool, I know that the GPU is +0.025V).
3DMark05 --> 9083:)
only to test 3D 2K5 but NO artefactsQuote:

Besides .. i got back card from RMA, they didnt got same problems as me in FEAR or some tests in 3D Mark 03/05, but dude who owns computer shop give it to another man and so far he using it few days and didnt report any problems (not sure what he really playing, since some games was just fine).
Hmmm bad slot on the mobo? Or some bad power is causing the issues. Let alone from a reinstall, or driver issues but think you guys have covered that already making sure your on the latest drivers and such.Quote:

Sounds EXACTLY like my XL. Very strange, but some things were mint others were not. All 3Dmark and aquamark as well as quake 4 played without a problem or artifact however FEAR had little black squares on the screen. I could not figure out why some things would work and others not. I have already sold my card and the buyer told me thanks! The card works great? No clue what to make of it but something is up with some of these XL cores for sure.Quote:
