4.10's are the funnest things ever to come to mustangs lol.
4.30's are even better :)

i noticed less than a 2mpg drop going from stock 3.08's to 4.10's
3.27's ... i think is what came in the 94-04's
i got a 2 or 3 mpg drop in city, but like 5 or 6 freeway. im tempted to go to the 3.08's or possibly 2.90's just for pure milage, and the fact that when im finally done with my car i'll be able to shift fast enough ^^
i mean mine came stock with 3.08's and i hardly noticed a difference in MPG.
I think I have 2.93, I might go to 3.55...should be a little quicker through the gears but won't kill highway. But I really need to change it because I nearly don't use 5th atm, I can do 65 in 4th @2250.

Right now it's an automatic and stock motor. Not much as far as performance goes. Lowered on tokico blues and sitting on some generic 18" wheels. Full 3" catback and hi-flow cat. Plans for it include dropping in the built SR20DET I've been working on for a while:

And a bunch of other goodies. Hopefully get the suspension replaced with some megan racing coilovers early next spring.
My stang came with the factory option for 3.55's and lsd. However that still puts my 5th gear out of use under about 65mph simply because 4th yields about 65mph @ around 2600rpm. My engine does not like being under 2krpm simply because accelerating dumps massive amounts of fuel and yield acceleration slower than a turtle. I only cruise in 5th when doing long trips, most of the time I don't see over 4th.
I think you could re-gear the 5speed to give you that ultra high mpg your looking for, you just better be producing allot of torque down low in the rpm.
