Not under NDA, just not retail yet. It should be out some time in the October-November time frame.

max of cpu on air cooling

Since the be board isn't under nda.
What kind of heatsink setup do you guys think there will be?
I've seen 2 diff styles so far for that board.
I'm hoping it's a practical type, the style used on the majority of pics out there of the board turn me off a bit (doesn't look like it cools very well).
I'm gonna buy the board anyways regardless but still.
I'm really hoping its a hybrid water air heatsink, that would be awesome.
But then again we cant expect something like that, but I can still hope.
Anyways what are you guy's impression of the board so far?, for you guys that have the board already.
BBSE...Only have one decent kit left
Latest bios is awesome, thanks Shammy:up:

Can one of you guys check ivb-e with some hynix bfr?
I'm trying to decide if I should keep the bfr I have and look for another pair or go for some cfr or maybe samsung.
Guys, I see the ones that are lucky enough to have Black Editions are showing awesome results but what about the guys with R4E? My 4930K has poor physics in 3D11 and needs heaps of volts for any decent clock, such as 1.45v+ for only 4500... Not impressed so far ...
:(
@ aussie-revhead
Would you mind then posting your stepping in the other thread I made?
The more info we have about these steppings the better.
Running R4E with a 4930k. Needs 1.30v for 4.5Ghz (auto on the load line) : http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...20LCC/run2.jpg
Same run I posted in l0ud's 3DM11 LCC. Batch 3330B484
Hey here's one ? that's bugging me to those that have tested the black edition already.
Does the board have vga hotwire / vga tweakers paradise?
I found out you can use them for the msi lightning cards if just hook them up just right.
I checked and the rive has 2 of them all together, for 2 gpus.
I tried looking at pics of the rive-be and I can't see the 2x 6 pins for that particular feature.
Can someone at least verify that there is or isn't vga hotwire connectors?
I know it's to early for review time, I just found out that I could actually use it though lol.
It's bugging me, dejavu too lol.
R4E clocks Ivy-E CPUs fine. Ran CPUs at 6Gs (ln2) here on it no probs. Did all my binning on that board, too. Your CPU is well below average. I found only one CPU out of 45 that would do 4.8G at 1.40V. The average was 4.6G with 1.40V. There was one in 45 that did only 4.4G at 1.40V. Sounds like your CPU is like that latter one.
So, my borrowed 4.7 GHz 1.4V OCCT stable was better than average Raja?:)
I did not test at that VID unfortunately, but I suppose 1.35V for 4.5G should be about right (the 4.6G 1.40V CPUs should be in that ballpark).
Where did all these cpus go raja? I wouldn't mind one ....
:)
They were ES and back to Intel :)
Anyone know about the availability of the Rampage IV Black edition board, I saw some information about it being released but cannot find if for sale. Is it a low number limited edition or available from a certain retailer only?
The rive black was a limited edition.
Its the same board as the normal rive just a diff color scheme.
The "black edition" is a board that "supposedly" comes out on oct 29th.
The same time amd releases there cards supposedly, bf4 and some other game comes out that day too.
The black edition is a new board.
I wish I knew if it had vga hotwire though :\.
I know how to hook up my card's sensors to it, I'm not gonna be using it to over volt my cards though, I just wanna monitor them so I don't have to hook up my dmm, or open my case.

@Raja@Asus: n00b question. Will the OC Panel work with the current R4E? Sorry if this was asked already...
That's a major bummer
Ohwell though, its not that big of a deal I guess.
I looked up r3e vs r3be, checking the diff bios ver's and such (didn't find much).
Then comparing the r4e and be boards by glance.
I think I'm gonna wait it out for the be to come out, seems like it's a slightly better design.
It's not just the mem pwm design (seems to have an extra cap for every 2 channels), but the nuvoton chip location.
On the be it's close to the south bridge which should be perfect for bclk's and the like.
I really wanted that vga sensor stuff though so I could read them back in hwmonitor and the like.
I can see the oc panel has those things, but can the board read them after its hooked up, or do you have to rely on the panel its self for a readout... ?
Ohwell, whatever.
The main issue with th oc panel is that I've only got 4x 5&1/4 bays, drive on top, 120mm fan in the bottom 3.
I could always use an 80mm fan instead to cool my bdr drive, but I'm not so convince the oc panel is that useful to me lol.
I like to set and forget if you know what I mean (rather use the bios).
But anyways, 3 more weeks supposedly :D.
:cheer2:
Sorry for the double post, figured it was better then making a new topic for a simple ?.
I've got about 1,800 gigs of data in raid 0 on my 790fx board, an amd.
Do have to back all this data up before moving to the intel x79 platform?
Or will it recognize the raid 0 array?
It's just 2x 1tb drives in raid 0, stripe size is 64k.
On my current amd board it recognizes the array regardless of which drive is plugged in 1st.
I'm worried though that the intel wont see the array and I'll have to back up all my data, clear the drives and build a new array on the intel.
I figure someone here would have the experience to tell me...
:)
Main prob is all Ive got is 50 bdr disks, which is ruffly 1.25 tb max.
The only other drive I've got off hand is that is a reasonable size is a 400 gig ide drive lol.
Which I have no possible way of hooking up to my amd board.
Maybe I should buy a drive to use for transferring this data for temp storage from one array to the next?
I gotta buy a drive anyways for my brother, he's getting this amd board and cpu.
Ltns Praz :).
Thanks for the heads up, I was afraid of that.
I'm looking at a western digital 2tb red, I'll have to do some research 1st but I think it might be the easiest way out of this mess I'm getting into :).
It's only $100, looks like a good value as long as it doesn't park it's heads every 5 secs or so.
That's pretty much all I needed to know, thanks man .
