another 3 weeks aren't going to kill you...
no matter how BD is going to turn out i'm sure that we'll see at least some price drops on sandy bridge after launch ;)

Yeah you've lasted that long with that E6600 another few weeks is nothing, lol.
I had an E6600 once. I really enjoyed that chip. It was first-run silicon and I could get the system to POST at 4.4 GHz on the DFI ICFX3200-T2R/G I had. It wasn't stable or anything, but just being able to even get to the Windows loading screen on a 2006 CPU at that frequency is pretty impressive. It could even run low-intensity software like CPUID off of Ultimate Boot CD and such. Fond memories.
So when is the actual BD release date and when is SB-E coming out? also whats the difference with SB and SB-E?
AMD does not need to release any info. Those who make AMD money by buying 1000s of chips everytime, they already know what bd can do. Those other 5 people in all forums saying they need benchmarks early does not bother AMD much. There is no benefits of releasing benches early.
Won't be long now folks,be patient. 3 weeks or so and the wait is over.
You forgot some later suckage comments that might be posted:
When we do finally get a non-fake benchmark Leak which looks good for BD: "The xyz benchmark looks great for BD. But what benchmark will it suck at?"
Later if we get an entire review showing good results for BD: "This review looks good for BD. But the reviewer sucks so BD must also."
When we get a review from a "trusted" reviewer (if it doesn't show BD sucking): "So it seems BD looks pretty good at this time. I wonder how bad it will suck after IB is released."
And Hypothetically if everything and everyone in the world shows it performing slightly better then the similarly priced Intel chip: "It's AMD so it sucks that it costs that much."
Those people that are waiting for it need to take their mind off it or those 3 weeks will feel like a year lol.
another way to think about it is that intel 2500k is really, really, really good, like best cpu overall ever.
so even if bulldozer is REALLY good too, it won't be that much better, and half these guys will end up getting sandy bridge anyway. all that wait for a $20 price drop. my oh my
The best place to hear how totally awesome an Intel part is: Any AMD post in the news section. Double time if the original post was positive about AMD in anyway, that is just asking for trouble.
Don't hate because intel has a better chip.its sad that the second intel gets brought up you see the amd fan boys say something.I would bet anything that if bd clocked to 6ghz on air that you guys would have a field day on the forums.
Fact is right now sandys are better and they clock to 5ghz
the 200$ 2500K is easily the best current gaming cpu for the price, but this is only because of how few games care about having more than 3 cores
with amd the cpus might not clock as high or have as good as IPC, so thuban with more cores is a great well rounded cpu for an incredible price (a 1055T overclocked past 4ghz shouldnt lag behind in many games at all)
if you have ONE need, then you can find the PERFECT cpu,
if you have MULTIPLE needs, then chances are there is NO PERFECT cpu.
Makes what horrible? The fact that no one can bring up sandy bridges performance without being called a fanboy?bd is going up against sandy and im sorry but we are going to compare them and bring up sandy strong points.
That is fine in a thread about comparing the two, the problem is when someone dumps a boat load of "Fact is right now sandys are better and they clock to 5ghz" in a thread that has nothing to do with Intel parts. Hence the term thread dumping, it instantly turns the thread into a shouting match and it never needed to happen. This is how you tell the fanboys from the fans. I don't hate Intel, I own an i7, but seeing the same jerks try to rip apart every AMD thread they can gets really old.
You read the title of this thread ?
Does it say "Alternatives to bulldozer" ?
Or maybe "Bulldozer vs Sandybridge" ?
This thread should be about news about bulldozer, not statements like "2500k is awesome" .
2500k sucks.There you have it.
It makes as much sense as intel fanboys statements about 2500k being great, because we DONT HAVE ANY CREDIBLE INFO ABOUT BD YET, so how are you comparing them ?
Anyhow thats irrelevant as this thread aint about how 2500k smacks 1100T around(we dont have BD numbers ,so thats what they must be rambling on).
I bet mods are reading this.Am i wrong mods ?
Its always Intel fanboys going the distance to amd threads here and in amd section just to tell us how bad are amd cpus and how great are intel cpus.Ive never posted in intel section, cause i dont have any intel cpu.And i dont post about AMD cpus in the intel news ...
I expect the 8core parts to go head to head with (if not pass) the 990x in highly threaded workloads. Although I am a gamer there are many other things that can and will leverage the computational potential of more threads and that won't change any time soon. Rendering, encoding, folding, workstation multitasking ect. Its down to work load.
From a pure games only perspective having more threads ( than the norm today ) at your disposle isn't going to be overly benificial until we are dealing with engines that are designed for it. Now faster threads are where games will benifit today.
The dual core to quad core adoption rate was quite slow but despite this, multithreaded console hardware created a gradual influx of highly threaded game engines where the benifits can be seen on quad core hardware today (this wasn't the case when they launched). The same will apply to 6 and 8 + core processors but not until the bottleneck in software ( the game engine ) is removed and thats not going to happen until the next consoles release and even then not overnight. My point here is more cores will do little gaming wise today, but I'd be crazy to say I don't use my system for other things and that the status quo won't change in a few years time.
I havnt posted in the amd section in over 5 years.what I ment was sandy is out now and we know it clocks well and nobody knows how high a bd will clock.
If it comes out to be a monster I will get it but I hate the fact that this board is so sensitive when someone brings up intels chips.the thread dosnt have to be about the directly as bd is ment to go head to head with sandy.
