LOL. At first, I bought 5 of these cpus. Tested 3of5, and all have had the same overclockability - exactly the same. Every single one needs 1.4875V LLC 0% to reach 4GHz milestone as unlocked.
I sure am not complaining. Funny 86euro chips these are. <3 Here's about 7hours of LargeFFT priming.
FAN1 = Phobya DC12-260 pump (funny reading, makes no sound at all, not sure about the real rpm of the pump. At least it is NOT 2000 lol.) Nexxxos 360 rad, almost passive. WC HK 3.0
FAN2 = Scythe Slipstream 1600rpm which is slowered to ~1k rpm to make it silent. Cooling mobo PWM, NB and ram a little.
On air, Mugen2, with fan around 900rpm temps were around ~57 after 3hours of prime.

Nice! How is CPU-NB on all 5? All exactly the same also?
New cpu came in today and judging by the numbers it looks promising:

Wasn't week 1 chew*'s favourite?
0016 looks nice too.
Will put it to the test this Sunday. :)
hope its good for ya,,, 955's make my 965 jealous :p:
I got yesterday 955 1001APMW, it seems to be the best of my 4 C3's :) I haven't tested it good yet, but it will happen when I change my loop. It's running now at 4.2GHz 1.55V and makes 4.1 with 1.475 - 1.485V. The CPU-NB is also good.
Good luck with yours!
whau, is here someone with 3000MHz stable NB? (air only) Or someone with 3100MHz NB for benchmarks? I tested, i can booted at 2940MHz NB, nothink more. My max NB for superpi is about 3040 MHz and max NB idle was 3080 Mhz :)
Initial testing of my new 955BE C3 made clear this cpu is good but not special.
Here's 4.1GHz Prime blend for half an hour with 64 bit OS:

CPU-NB on this cpu is quite strong, i tested with 3d mark06 cpu test to see how far i could push it:

Not too bad considering it's a 64bit OS and ambient temps were 21ºC. This was with 1.38V on the CPU-NB, pretty sure 3GHz+ on the CPU-NB will be possible. :)
ASUS 4A89GTD Pro/USB3 with 550 C3 4 cores unlocked @ 4500MHz. Just mounted up my SS for a quick run. Will do proper testing along with other benches in the next few days.

555 unlocked 3rd. core on air

Hey guys,
I bought the AsusM4a89GTD-Pro 890GX
but was comparing it to the Gigabyte 890GX and couldn't deiced which one I really wanted.
It seemed that the Asus got better FPS but the Gigabyte got better benchmarks
Plus the gigabyte was prettier(had a light blue) and those 90degree sata ports were really what stood out along with the color.
Was going to run 965 Phenom II X4 125w
Both seem to be excellent/easy to overclock.
Just wanted to know which one is faster.
Regards,
my humble attempt... :)

result is bad coz i think the timing is not tight enough... :(
So is 2600mhz considered a low NB clock on these new c3's? Its kinda pissing me off. it take 1.35v to make it stable at that. and the stupid 14 nb multi wont even post. If I set it to that I have to clear cmos. So far all im getting stable is 3800mhz on core with 1.42v, 2600 nb with 1.35v. Any suggestions? I can get 3900mhz stable but it takes alot more voltage and alot more heat to get it, doesnt seem worth the heat and Voltage for 100mhz.
2600MHz CPU-NB is not fantastic for a Phenom II. My old 940 BE and 955BE C2 both did 2.8GHz easy, my 965BE C3 has trouble reaching 2.7GHz stable but this current 955BE C3 i have does 2.8GHz+ easy.
It could be your mainboard, some boards just clock better than others.
yeah im thinking that too, does it need more nb voltage(not cpu-nb) or ht or south bridge to stable it out or should it just be cpu-nb voltage and multi to work.
It felt like this 555BE chip was taking 4GHz so easy as a quadcore, so I decided to try 4200 with 1.55V
http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/9551/5554200quad.png
No, it was not stable, tested up to 1.6V VCore. :F
But again, I can't complain. 1.45V 201x20 = 4020 x4 priming... :) Let's see if it's rock solid.
Still cooled with single stage. The CPU seems to have a bit more left in it yet.

maggari what's your NB at?
No word on this chip yet Zeus?
I have to admit, I'm more a believer of the luck of the draw thing....
But a week 1 with a serial number of 0016!
If someone did believe in all that stuff, that chip should be the Golden Ticket... :D
Have you tested it yet man. or did I miss it?
Hey Dave,
I guess you missed it, look at post 811. ;)
The chip is good but nothing special, did 3d mark 06 at 4444MHz and 3GHz+ CPU-NB with 3ºC ambient but rebooted from time to time, pretty unpredictable.
This is what i got:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ark0626569.png
compare:http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=13598427
Vcore was 1.57V, 1.375V CPU-NB, anything over those values made it even more instable.
So in the end i would say the cores are about as good as my 965 but the CPU-NB is lots better.
Gonna need ice-water for 27K though. :)
