Supafish, Have you tried higher qpi voltage? Also put ram on 1.65 and pll on the first notch=1.81 above you said you had qpiv set at 1.35, maybe try 1.4 or so I think this is the key to your oc, unless as T-flight says you have a bad cpu.

Hay, I got this board last week and I just finally built it up yestrday and it powered on and it seems as though the hard drive was doing sumthing and also when it powered on only one of my cd drives light up and then my floppy just staying light up.. while my other drive just didnt flash.
But aneway it didnt post nothing on the screen and Im using the 1800 Corsair Dominator Memory (4 gig) (Dual). I actually havent got time to buy the tri set memory yet.
I'm using the 920 cpu with the thermalright 120 eXtreme 1366 Cooler inside the Silverstone Tj09 Case.
Has aneone have a clue what might be going wrong and why it wont post up the bios on the screen.
At First i thought it was the cold boot issue and I did waited and I did use one slot of ram inside but it still wont post nothing on the screen. What do u think it could be. Do you think the old bios wont detect the 1800 dominator memory until I update it to the lattest bios?
Aneway please give me ur ideas of what may cause of the problem. I actually gave it to gamedudes (thats where i brought the stuff) but now they ask for my powersupply cables and the disk that came with the board and also the LCD poster thing (Even though, I dont plan on leaving it in for this build though cause its in the way). But i would like to speed things up to help them up so i can use my board and re put my games n stuff... and of course.. To overclock it.
Any ideas. I be much appreciated. :)
In most cases if the floppy light stays up, you may have connected the floppy cable the wrong way. For not POSTing, remove everything but the Video card, one stick of memory and the CPU and try turning it on again to see if it would POST.
unplug all your drives, just have 1 stick ram/psu/cpu+hs and video card installed on the board to see if you can post to bios. also really you need to post your full set up/components used. btw what does the lcd poster say? does it say 'locked' or is it halting somewhere else?

Oh yeah when i first build it up it did let me power it down when i Hold on the power button but since I reset the cmos on the back it seems it wont power down when i hold the power button and i dont kno if this is normal but when I turn the power supply swtich off the board beep twice n then it powered off.
Oh yeah When i place the LCD post in, it says welcome and then it goes how long its been posted and doesnt show like memory or cpu int and that type of thing.
i need 21x200 cpu vtt 1.55 get it 3dmark06 stable and i have vcore 1.53 i just put it near to max i lower that later if i can this is very cpu vtt hungry after 3.8ghz i can run 3.8ghz 19x200 ht on 1.3vcore and 1.35 cpu vttQuote:

A no POST could also be due to the default 1.5v the BIOS defaults to from the factory and when the CMOS is reset. The memory he has may not POST at that since it's rated for higher voltage. What do you guys think? Think the RAM might keep it from POST'ing?
There were some Mem support issues with the older BIOS revisions too.
Yeah I was just thinking maybe its my memory again. Like prolly had to get them put an 1333 ddr3 memory or the previous models b4 the 1800 just for it to get it posting. But that would mean thay wuld have to update the bios. Oh well. I just hope it will post when it does though. But it did say it will in the QVL memory list for the board though.
I will let them know when I go to them tommorrow, to hand in the powersupply box, lcd poster and motherboard disk (like really, why would they need my power connections like everything is in the tower, all connections are there unless sumthing isnt right like the floppy connection is bad or sumthing n had to replace it with the other ones thats in the powersupply box)
Also you have 2x video cards in there just try one. I allways keep a old pci video card for troubleshooting issues like this.
The two beeps from your galaxy psu [I use one] that some kind of safety warning. these psus have had issues running certain video cards. for instance I had a problem with a 3870 x2 and that psu, I returned the psu and enermax sent me a newer revision version that has had no issues.
If you can try a different psu. but I do think T-flight could be right, depends when you got the board, mine had 0705 bios installed as default I think.
I dont think your board is dead izzy, just keep trying different things, ram voltage may be an issue but I would have thought 'det ram' would show on the lcd and hang maybe.
not sure but your psu might be the issue [incompatible] with something possibly.

replaced the neoprene tubes and now running some leak test
one thing i wonder.. arent this metal barbs only usable once??
cause its damn hard to remove . replaced it with plastic ones.
It's a good idea to flash both bios's when you get the board. Not just flash one and wait for something to screw up. I switched to my second one and put the latest official on it.

But i agree though. I been very careful and gentle placing that motherboard in so theres no way it could be dead though.
But i bet gamedudes may consider its faulty n then prolly replace me another one and when they do that i have to wait like a week or more to get my board back.
But aneway I already sent them an email enquiry bout the memory bit and I will re tell them when i go there as well just incase they havent decided to try it out.
It could be my memory since its not labeled in the user manual and its is in the new QVL memory list so it could be possble it would work if the bios is up to date.
Its worth a shot though.
I think there is a problem with this board and fast memory, I cant get my kingston 2000 hz ram to run at spec, 1866 is fine.

This is the required Mfg specs to run Ram at this speed. If you do not increase QPI Vtt than you'll never run at High Frequencies.
Though Intel specs say 1.35v is the Max. I've been running 1.60 QPI VTT around the clock now and all is well.
Do you mean the crimps (metal rings that tighten around the neoprene tube)? I would think most crimps can be reused. At least in real life plumbing they can. I did not try doing any mods to the system however, so I am not sure about these specific ones. Maybe eventually I will swap out the pump and add a double or triple rad in the loop, but not for now...Quote:

this barbs are way different cause they crushed the top part manually by machine i think..

I tried increasing voltage on everything individually but nothing seems to get me into Vista. Not sure if its the memory seeing how they are running under spec and cooling isn't an issue (66*C max LinX).
Any ideas on how to get past 19x wall fellas?

Thay just rang me up and asked me if my memory is dual or tripple set and basically its only dual set at the least since it only came out as dual sets when i got it for my striker II extreme and he just told me that the board will run on dual but the cpu mainly meant for tripple set and i explained to him that i wont get a tripple set for like 2 months or so since i had to build my money up again since i spent it on the speakers Logitech 5.1 5500 Z and the Rampage II and the cpu and the cpu cooler that kinda brought my money down and unable to afford the memory at this current time.
But he goes nah its ok the board will run dual set as well just thort u may need to know so he says that it posted and he has to reasemble the board back in the case and that again and give me a call so it should be ane time now for it to be picked up..
But i also need to be sure to get my powersupply cables n stuff back and make sure nothing is missing and of course the LCD poster.. I hope its not been plugged in the board or else it be hanging around when u carry the case out and it be in the way of things if its set on the table.
Now if its able to post when i get it the first thing i gotta do is check if its the lattest bios if its not i hope theres no harm updating it once i put vista in.
Ahh these new boards do have a big twitch to it.
