Well all of those(especially fx parts) were great chips,but didn't offer asmuch in terms of OCing and tweaking as K10.5(thanks to much better process and added L3) . I'm not sure if 9600 phenom you have is BlackEd. or regular,but it might hit 2.8+Ghz depending on cooling and board.
Oh don't get my post too serious, it was under " " ;). I myself never ran a CPU at default :D,apart from initial assembly/boot process.You can see why my OCing standards are a bit over the top :).

BE rocks,never got a Brisbane BE,just upped the Mhz to 250 and drop the multi to 12 or 13,set and forget.But Im loving the multi clocking.Never really used multis before even on the mobiles,except to check max cpu,like 202x13 on the Xp2600M.Really thinking about dropping the extra on the Deneb BE.the X3 BEs were a steal,but the Deneb BE will be a little steep for me.Buut the 16x+up multis are REALLY hard to resist once I got the taste.

Nice boost :| realy impressive. I did not know that you would get that kind of boost. Cant wait to start clocking one of these :P. Phenom overclocking is more fun than intel OC. My Brother has a 9850 BE i have a Q9450 and a Tripple core 8450. But the unlocked BE's are a lot of fun with that nb multi.

Is it just me or is the page numbering borked?:shrug: I see a page 30,31,32 and 33, but I can't get any further then 31, clicking on the 32 or 33 get's me back here. Bummer, thought/hoped there was a lot to read :-(

Going to test everything at stock, 3.6GHz and max OC for the Phenom-II as well.

And an i7 in for good measure. This is more than twice the price of the Phenom-II chip but it's a comparrison so whatever. Going to run 4GB dual-channel to keep things almost identical, but will do triple channel as well if I have time (more likely tomorrow) with 6GB.

That's 4ghz air with the pII 920 with like 287 htt which means were gonna be seeing some wicked clocks even on the lower multiplier models.

yea its pretty crazy it looks like the 920 is going to be equal to the 940 almost. just slightly lower overclocks. sorta like how it is now with the 9850 and 9950 they are pretty much the same.

Agreed. Hell I may get a cheaper 920 then get a high end AM3 later since I plan on dropping Denebs in all my AMD systems(3).

Agreed. He was the 1st person ever that I wanted to see banned from here. I like it here in the AMD section. Aside from the occasional Intel troll, I really enjoy the info and enthusiast in here. :up: Now, anyone know how much the 920's are going for? :shrug:

Well seeing the hack job that THG did with OC'ing the Phenom II I'm going to take their negative opinion lightly

We all need to look at a broad range of benchmarks from different sources to really see what we have on our hands here. Just the fact that it is considerably better than Phenom I, looks like it OC's like intel chips finally, and is reasonably priced, is enough for me to pick one up. :up:

well so far i see i7 with = to lower OC's but they have a much higher clocking qpi/ht and NB. why is this? is i7 native quad or did they just move the nb on chip?
i am askin here for obvious reasons. :)

most here understand its the total system bandwidth and platform. not just what you can do with your cpu in superpi. LOL
