More shaders and your there...until I pour a little juice tonight :D
Why show the mainboard tab just to hide the mainboard tab ;) :D:D:D

I'm deadly tired, I'll do something stupid if I stay awake now so this is my final result:
24, 678
Clocks were:
700/1400/531 - car
736/1472/531 - dragothic
752/1504/535 - lobby & nature.
Vgpu = 2.05V
Vmem = 2.2V
Air cooled with HR-03 and three 3000rpm Deltas.
Core and shaders have more headroom but I'm too tired right now to figure all voltage/freq combinations. It wouldn't pass car at 750MHz no matter what voltage, but nature passes just fine.
As my first foray into competitive benching I consider this result not-so-bad, especially with such skilled competitors. I learned a lot, thank you all for motivation
don't you like our Team.AU logo :p: :D
i need those shaders to beat you guys at '03
looks like they gain a lot :D
fingers crossed i have time to do it all tonight again with ln2 ....... and the card is still alive
11K next i reckon :D
and 29-29.5K for '01
Time to head out for the night! My results blow chunks, there was a reason why I preferred benching my other cards this month, this thing sucks to work with. Final stable clocks were 839/1860/422 which it would run through every test fine. 864/1890/424 was stable for only a few tests. LOD was set to 3.6 and not adjusted, once again ran out of time. CPU/memory was left at my 24/7 settings, I doubt it would have gained me much. Card has a 2200uF low ESR cap in parralel with the cap feeding the core and a 10k pot to adjust the voltage. Voltage was set at 2.25v, anything more and the card crashed, 61C all through the tests with a TTBT strapped to the GPU. Memory was crap, voltage didn't help, cooling didn't help, timings didn't help, utter crap. Next time, 128-bit cards, and I'll spend more time modding the cards. Proud of this card though, first hardware v-mod I've done in my life and I nearly killed it :yepp: Now the card is going into my server, underclocked and undervolted
3D01 - 21788
3D03 - 8107
edit: added 3D03 compare URL.
Hope im still elligble, after the GF taking my time last night im about to hit -50C finally this morning for some 3V action.
OK, well it seems the max i can bench Nature was 2.5V which had small stuttering but ran fine (see below)
AT 2.6V it froze half way thru and had more glitches but the card survived well.

I then decided to put all those volts to good use, and took the new 8400GS WR for benchable GPU/Shader in Nature @ 2.4V.
Didnt want to waste LN2 (QX9770 testing this arvo) so stopped at that with a perfectly fine card.

Fired up this ancient mousepot, didn't have a lot of time so jumped straight up to 2.41V.

Only took 2.4V to blow a FET on this card.

Last update before it fried...card still on air for this one.

I thought 3v was too much, but i am glad 2.4-5 was gained with one pass and one fail. Nice work GHZ ( who seems to be called Mark in real life which is a very appropriate name considering) and T_M for the last runs.
We have our winners ..the competion is over
ANYTHING GOES WINNER 2001 = JOHNNY BRAVO
ANYTHING GOES WINNER 03 = JOHNNY BRAVO
AIR COOLED WINNER 2001 = G H Z
AIR COOLED WINNER 03 = SPIKEP
Congratulations to those guys, everyone who blew their card up gets a  and for everyone who competed and struggled with crappy memory :D
It's the first competition I've run like this and I am pleased I could get away with so few rules and everyone acted "like right and proper gentlemen" as Diick van Dyke would say in Mary Poppins.
I'll update the final scores later when I get time.
Regards
Andy
it was a great contest to watch! to bad i couldnt take part in it, because of my comming final exams. (last year in german gymnasium)
congrats to alle the winners :toast:
It was fun and it opened up a whole new segment of benching for me. Now I need to search out more 3D tweaks and get some pots for my GPUs. Great times lie in the future :p:
edit: in my rush to leave lastnight I forgot to power down the PC. The poor 8400GS has been sitting here for ~10 hours with 2.2v pushing through the core, still working though. Hardy GPUs, very impressive.
 great job to the winners, i had problems finishing my benching rig, but it's up and running now. So i hope in hte future to be a part of these fun challenges.
again, i it was great to see everyone work together but still against a card that gave no quarter.
+1:up:
This was great fun, taught me a lot about benching 2k1 :D
I reckon most of the fun was in modding the cards
Awesome work all of you, this looked like a ton of fun and I wish I coulda played.
T_M: Sick clocks
Andy - Wrong Johny lol ;)
I missed out on this one... let's do one for march. ATI this time.
March too soon, lets target April
Yes March is too soon, even April maybe, I dunno what the interest is like for one so soon. STEvil had an interesting idea he might like to tell you about.
Regards
Andy
March is too soon, April might be but I'd say May.
STEvil please tell us!
april gives time to pick a card then. ideas? all i care is that we try to pick a uber low budget card.
great comp guys
I suggest for the next competition the X1550 if it doesn't have any overclocking issues. I'd prefer a HD3650 contest but I think it's a bit too expensive for a 128-bit card. The X1550 is ~$40 and 128-bit. Anyone have any experience with it? I forget if it was the ATI card we talked about earlier that had huge GPU clock walls.
Thanks zakelwe,
For running a most enjoyable and friendly competition
And well done to all the winners.
