975XBX maybe??
Uhm... anyone had problem with your soundcard? My computer crashed, and windows would not start again today, then i flashed bios to the latest one and tryed, no luck.
Then i installed Windows XP x64, worked nice, until i installed the soundcard drivers, then the computer is stuck at the same place.
What should i do?
I've used the drivers that is on the CD that came with my MB.

On a more serious note, have you tried disabling the onboard audio in the BIOS? Perhaps, the onboard audio isn't the root problem, but conflicting with something else. See if you system is stable without the onboard audio enabled.

it's stable if i dont install the drivers!
It was stable in safe mode to, no sound in safemode.
maybe new drivers? but why did it happen so suddnly?
I've used the computer and the onboard audio for 1-2 weeks with no problem @ all. Now running stock speed.
Not install drivers v.s disable in bios is almost the same!
no it isnt...not installing drivers will still make it get an IRQ e.g. ....
yes, i know, but it works...
were in bios do i disable the onboard soundcard?
can´t find it

Any oddities when running G.Skill pc2-6400 "bh" memory on it? man.. I was so ready for my crossfire rig to work last night.. I hoping for better success tonight. :)
1305 is fine. 1401 is better. Look back one page for the link...Quote:

so I take it I need 0614 if I have the deluxe/wifi edition? that's the only version of the board I could get my hands on.. I also saw some peeps with the same memory I have.. I have the 2gbhz stuff.. looks like it works well on this board. :)
EDIT: NM! I am an idiot.. lol. that was for the p5b.. anyways.. 1401 it is! :)
Is there a working windows flashing utility that works okay on this board, or do you have to use afudos/bios ?
RTFM Springs to mind :slap:Quote:

Goto the Asus website under downloads select the MB type you have and you will find all downloads there. Its called AsusUpdate for Windows.
Just to be safe, have a boot disk with your backup bios on and make sure you bios scans the floppy drive first, or USB device if using 1.
Hm, upon cosideration I think I'll just use afudos and a floppy. Probably the safest way.
I just gotta say, yay for topboy's avatar! :D
Thanks man.....just wish she was my girl so she would :slapass: to keep me striaght when needed ;)Quote:

edit: lol.. my cpu is idling at 16c! not too shabby. :)
I am try to get my Audigy 2 ZS sound card to work on this board. It just doesn't work. I have disabled the onboard audio and tried slots 1,2 and 3 without success. From posts i have read, some people have managed to do this and others not. Is there a trick to it?
My board came with Intel chipset drivers 7.2.2. I see there is a V8 out now. Has anyone tried them yet? I'm going to solve the board overheating issue by using a Cooler Master CMStacker 830 case (great excuse to get one, it's enormous).
Thanks
I've been using the latest 975X chipset drivers from Intel's site since day 1, and my Audigy 2 running the latest drivers is working perfectly.Quote:

tricky to get a USB floppy to work as a floppy for windows setup to load the AHCI driver with.. finally got it working! :)
Sorry for the lack of detail....the drivers install fine, no problems in device manager - everything looks fine but there is silence from the computer.Quote:

That's odd. All I can think to ask is if you're sure you have the speakers connected to the correct jack.Quote:

I just went from DS3 to P5W DH Dx and I have couple of questions
what is ICH chipset voltage and what should I set it to?
it's like 1.05 and 1.20
how high can I go on MCH voltage with stock heatsink?
mine goes up to 1.85v
I want to remove that heatsink cover, but.. wouldn't that void warranty?
thanks
so this top download is the newest chipset drivers for the 975x chipset? seems a little light for a chipset package..

or am I looking in the wrong place?
