i cant get the Gskill HZ ram to run at cl4 with memset no matter what it just locks up even at ddr2 700 speeds yet on a p5wd2-e it would run at ddr2 1000 with 4-4-3-2 @ 2.3v.
the ram is running at ddr2 916 here.
Anyone know when the RD600 motherboards are out? Wondering if it's worth waiting a short time for, links to sources would be appreciated :)
DS3, chipset is hitting 61 when I don't have a fan on it. It's in the TJ07 case and with the sides off. Gonna try tomorrow with the sides on and see if that makes any difference. Will try reseating it too but I think it's starved of airflow.Quote:

Just for a laugh. If I dare go over 1.55v this is ok for a few benches. But I doubt it's prime so don't ask.

Is this for real??
Retail E6600 @ 3.7 @ 1.213 volts??
What you mean 'Just for a laugh'?
Course it real, cheek:slapass: Don't take to much notice of cpu-z voltages, its buggy, should say 1.55v. You never tried something just for a laugh, to see if you can?
Ooh... £1 worth nearly $2. Makes a little holiday and shopping trip over the pond quite interesting....
I have the mch @ 1.55 and vdimm of 2.2 upto 2.3.Quote:

1.55v is nothing to be scared of..
Max out the MCH, just get a fan over it, turned mine on first boot at 1.65v. And why so much Vdimm? Its not needed at those speeds, it'll make em hot.Quote:

The memory timings/speed are not going to do much for the overall system speed. I'd of thought the first thing is to get the FSB up, then worry about the memory bus. I'd stick to the 1:1 ratio as well, I'm not sure the other ratios are working that well tbh.Quote:

Well impressed with my £90 2GB ADATA Value :D
Stock DDR2-667 5-5-5-15
Memtest 30 mins DDR2-833 5-5-5-15 2.1v

with what FSB?
416 @ 4:5 = 333 I would think.Quote:

What are you planning to lap with this eBay lapping stuff then? The CPU itself or the Asus heatsinks?
The cpu
Why thank you.:cheer:Quote:

hehe, not very hot actually, I can keep my hands on them fine. 833 is fine on 2v maybe 1.9v but can't be bothered to run more memtest right now lol.Quote:

Made some progress last night.
i am stable at 380fsb 1.45V vcore 1.6V mch 2.2Vdimm ram @1:1
Memset was causing the problems running cl4 but i was ok setting it in the bios.
did a 3d2k1 run and was only a few points shy of 50K.
Sorry for being surprised when you just post an image and 'Just for a laugh'. What was i suppose to think?Quote:

Care to provide a bit more information? bios version? other voltages? etc.
This is encouraging for retail cpus as so far they've failed to live up to the ES's.
