CABYE 0542FPMW batch 0100 & already on 3ghz :D
CAB2E 0540FPMW batch 0143 (not tested yet)

hope one has a stronger mem controller than the FPBW to get me passed 3.1ghz stable ;)

the FPBW does 3ghz 1.5V & 3.1ghz 1.55V (both stable) but the mem controller craps out past 3.1 :(

i have a question... in async whit my old bh5 i cant boot whit max async latncy at 7ns but boot at 9 or 8... and max preamble at 5.5ns..but boot at 6ns...

super pi 32mb whit same OS and same config but 295x10 asincro...i have passed super pi 32mb at 1.48 volt..... but prime is dont stable...

Can you count ???, how many instances do you see running, 1 or 2 :rolleyes:

If he only had one instance running then yes, he would only be using 50% of the available processing power with 50% idle, waiting to do other things, like play BF2 at the same time :p: :)

But the Winter is bet tiem for Aircooling nice Chip you have.

sorry but why was he going on about how it puts both cores under 100% load and i only see 50% which means BS and tbh, that is lame for a 170 anyway :stick:

He has only highlited one instance, there should be two showing 50% each, he has shown two instances running in the background each taking 50% of available processing power :)

Also 2.55Gig is not very high but his Vcore is very low, but on average the 170's will do 2.7GHz with under 1.5Vcore which IMHO is nothing to sniff at

As far as I know, the stepp CABYE 0540 APMW is currently sold as a pretested by trendpc (from Germany I guess) for a frequency of 2950 @ 1.5V... Seems good, but I prefer to see good old sreenshots... :D

Tatts you know as well that CPU-Z validation counts and not what you have in your Bios Settings.Your 1,55Vc for 3.1Gh isnt amazing. Because you havew to give in your Bios
1,55 and 104% VID. that´a too much for a Screenstable or Windowsstable System!

well if were going by cpu-z volts which are wrong then mine is 1.5V for 3.1ghz which is stable (not bench stable) i can bench mine @ 3.2ghz 1.55V (in bios) but why? it fails prime so isnt stable. i only ever give results which are stable & by the voltage to what i set in the bios as it is alot more accurate than any windows app, use a MM to measure your OC and i bet you it reads slightly higher than you set in the bios and nowhere near what cpu-z tells you.
head over to dfistreet, you might be suprised & even learn something ;)

p.s. show me some more 146's doing 3.1ghz stable with 1.55V or less (bios) or 1.5V in cpu-z please

there aint many doing 3.1ghz on that list & all but 1 needing more vcore, also, if you have a look around, youll find i posted a SS of 3.1ghz stable using 1.5V in cpu-z :rolleyes: the one youre referring to is a 0542fpmw which i got today and isnt much of a clocker

i seriously suggest you do some homework mate.
mine can run prime 24.14 for 3 hours easy @ 3.2ghz but fails on occt? occt is only a pre prime test, surely you know that? & everyone knows a OC isnt stable unless prime has run for at least 8 hours, 2 hours is just tickling it :rolleyes: and when did anyone say superpi was used for stability?

and btw, i aint having a go mate, just pointing out the facts as i think you have a few mixed up here

i had an email from a retailer were i had one on order and they refunded me saying there not expecting anymore from amd and if they did it wouldnt be until january, ive contacted other retailers which said the same and most places wont let you pre-order one anymore so something fishy is going on

with CABGE 0536 am only up to FX55 speed. The only thing making a difference with speed is vCORE, period..ended up putting mem timings back to SPD raised HT back up to 5, ect.

I think to go on is to RAISE Voltage even more...1.65v bios setting shows 1.54 in CPU-z after boot - next jump is 1.75, 1.85v ect. - Have room on temps but is big voltage jumps.

Any ideas??

Be very carefull using the razor blade. I found it much easier to slide the razor blade under the IHS at a corner, more like just pushing it under the IHS. But take care not to slide blade in to far. There are some circuits in there that can be damaged. Just take a look at one some has posted with the IHS off and you will see what I mean.

I'm sure someone else has posted this in this thread before but here it is again. A short movie on the removal. This fella used a razor and a screw driver to pry the IHS off. I didn't like the idea of twisting a blade under the IHS so I just used the razor to cut the sealing material but either will work.

Yesterday I removed my 148's IHS and reduced temps in about 10C! I was refusing to do that but reading your post I said, enough to that stupid heat. Now at 1.5V my temps are around 55C full load with an XP-120 and low RPMs :D

Thx before and tatts. And my 1700536MPMW struggled tonight with one Core at 2600Mhz and 1,36Vc after 3h42min by Prime 24.24 Custom. The Second core did it the whole night through. Thats not good news for me.

rufus, i tried again with my 0542fpmw today & does 2.9ghz occt stable with 1.55V but doesnt like 3ghz, even with 1.65V which is abit high imo, never tested anything between 2.9 & 3ghz though so dont know the max.
but im not to bothered as my cab2e 146 is looking very good :D

tis one came off easier than any one I have ever done. i juse use a ultra thin double sided rasor blade and start at a corner and slice evenly all the way around and then once more all the way around to be sure it's free. then use the tip of an exacto blade to gently pry one corner up. took about 2 minutes. the key is using a new sharp blade on each side if necessary.

you are pro, 2 min, my opteron is 1st cpu what i taked topless :P i took like 20 min , used razor blade, and f***d up 3 pins :P but i was lucky :nono: :D 10*c dropped in temps

3500Mhz 3Dmark on me 146 opteron. Have to use ricky tweak otherwise coldbug wil max it out at about 335 HTT (stock mach II)

Yea I've been looking at the Mushkin Redline XP4000. I can't seem to find many places online that carry them. Can you show me some places that have them and are fairly a good price?

An Excellent result there loc.o :woot:

Have tried the Multi Processor HAL but made no difference for me ... have now seen other FPAWs running DDR600 so must be this particualr IMC or MB combination .. going to move Chip to another MB just to see if this is the case.

CABYE 0540 FPMW. Stock mach. The tweak is using acpi multiprocessor in device manager. It increases idle temps (and helps a little for a 2k1 score).

Just received a retail 148 0540 FPBW from Newegg, doesn't seem to like 3gigs. All fine and stable at 2.95 1.5v but thats about it as far as stability goes. :(

Just wondering what your TMax case on your FPBW? Seems most 146 with this stepping are out performing the 148's with same stepping and week.

yes ive encountered the same thing. most 148 0540 dont go that high on water. gonna test the max later and post some results.

Alphaone it must be an CABY 0542FPMW. 0543 i´ve never seen before. Or is it a new Productionweek?Nice clocks on Water. Put on your PWM and Mosfets en 120mm Fan above and your PWM Temperature will fall down.

So far, I'm very impressed with my Opteron 148.. $297CDN FX-57.. Haven't even touched the vcore yet, and I haven't hit the max at default vcore either..

Cooling is retail XP90 w/stock fan..
