Okay, but what if you run on the on-board video and disable audio? What's the max stable FSB you can reach? If it's higher than 150 MHz, you'd probably be able to reach that speed should AOpen release a BIOS with working locks.Quote:

I can barely overclock at all with the onboard graphics at either 66 or 75 locks. Also since doing this and then reinstalling the radeon 9800 pro I have lost the ability to define the agp / pci locks. Even when set at 66 in the bios clockgen sees it as 75 :confused: .I think the onboard graphics are somehow interfering with the agp card as previously said in this thread.Quote:

I also demand the freedom of multiplier change. I cannot change multiplier no matter what.... period. If I knew this was gonna happen I wouldn't have bought 2.0. I would've gotten maybe maybe 1.8.
Other than this AGP/PCI annoyance, this dothan is ~wonderful~. Excellent performance even at low FSBs.

with more v-core there is no effect. Nearly around 2600 MHz it is maxed out on air-cooling. :(

I have seen 190+fsb on the DFI, you have to run a pci vid card as the agp bus floats, i tested the PCI bus with a geiger and its fine.
So basically, the limiting factor is that the AGP frequency isn't fixed, and the built-in video card can't handle the high clocks, given a fixed PCI bus.Quote:

Also - have you looked at the Soltek 855GEI-FGDR? The info page _says_ it has all the goodies working, but without anyone having first-hand experience it's hard to tell.
Would indeed be nice to know if one should wait for the Soltek, or just go ahead and get the AOpen and check if ClockGen can manage to lock the bus frequencies...

i thought pci frequency was half of agp frequency. is there a way to test the agp?
not in this case apparently. with the DFI it seems that only PCI is locked.

this is gunna sound stupid but it worked for other asus boards.
put the AGP bus at 67mhz in the bios and this locks the pci/agp at 66/33 . i know it only applied to certain asus board but asus has done nothing but screw up every board since their 478 boards. so try 67mhz agp in the bios and go from there.
even if it not asus chaintech did this also... i think another board mfg you had to run 67mhz in the bios. to lock 66/33
also again old school stuff but certain boards the pci/agp wasnt actually locked until you engaged on board SATA RAID even if not drives are on it,, just engage it. ie turn it on.

Seems Nate hit 220fsb, i have a feeling 199fsb witht he 4:5 ratio for ddr498 2-2-2 would have been a good choice with a vdimm mod on his board.
can't wait to test one of these toys ;)
