Trying to build a new rig for some PIE.
How much watts would I need in a PSU if I am getting three GTX260s to crunch?
According to Nvidia - High Quality 1000W to mid/upper quality 1200W

Honestly I think a nice 850W one could handle it. I mean they say a 800-1000W for a 2 way 260 SLI, but I ran it for a month on a Corsair TX650...
Just consider that each Graphics card can pull 182W at 12V, or roughly 15A. PSU just needs to push 45A+ from the 12V rail and you're good.
If it were me, I'd go with a 900+ with a Tier 2 from this chart.

Oh, and the pie:

Edit: Haha - the TX650 can push 52A out the 12V rail. It's got it covered.
But I'd get this

Hey Otis, thanks for your reply, especially for the "Tier" link!
Will a PCP&C silencer 750W be able to handle the fire?
By the way, are you still in LA? :D
It's rated at +12V @ 60A so I'd say it should hold... Might see if anyone else comments but I'd say yes.
And no, I moved back to Texas to start school again... but I'll be back out there next summer for work.
WFD posted some nice info on GPUGrid really only using 60% of a cards TDP.
I havce been running an OC'd 295 and 285 on a Corsair TX750 but just replacd it with one of their new AX850 ... drop me a PM.
Thanks guys, after seeing some reviews, I've got my hands on a Rocketfish (best buy brand) 900W on eBay for only $11.50! Will try putting it together with the system after I got it, but I still havn't ordered my cards yet.
i've got a bad feeling about that psu...
At first, I had the same feeling, but I've done some research and after seeing this review, I've decided to bid on it.
Anyways for 11.50 I've got nothing to lose:p:
i'n using the corsair tx950 and it's great. super quiet.
also this was the numbers for the pie

my oh my... i went on a mini vacation, and come back to a few new faces, and lots of pie action. i noticed dak completely dropped out , but many went up
WCG pie is not enough for you?
a quality 650w should be enough for an i7 with 3 gtx260's, but the problem is finding one with 6 pci-e cable in this wattage. of course you can always get a bigger one (like that rocket fish), but all you really need 650w.
My kingdom for a piece of pie !!!!!
And yeah my output greatly dropped started playing again LoL and strangely gpugrid dont like it even if the game if very light graphically speaking so cant run both at the same it look like. But since most of my stuff on my car is paid, i could maybe be able to fork a bit more money to get that planned phenom II x6 and 3 gtx 460 to use with my leftover 1kw silverstone strider plus psu.

Just under 46k for a slice today. Great job guys!
just curious, who's KINCAID_PC_BRYAN? he's had pie like every day, yet i haven't seen him post at all. another secrete cruncher?
I think I remember him stopping in once or twice ... nice guy  , some people just aren't into the forum thing.
WFD ... looks like you got everything firing smoothly now, real nice points you've been putting up
Gratz on the #2 ppd machine all of GPUGrid :toast:
I think KINCAID_PC_BRYAN has a different name on the forum. I also remember him dropping by once in a while.

There it is! 53K today.
Congrats guys!
I think that's the last update, but computers are getting packed for my move so either way this is the best I can do tonight...
pretty sure not the final update. stoneageman only 452,122. i look at his points to figure out if it's the final update, he usually around 750,000 or so.
