No, Gigabyte is still working on it.

The SATA optical issue is *STILL* present with F7f....this is not good!
I'm sticking with F6b. I'd stop playing with the F7's as they either don't provide any performance benefit or just add more bugs in the long run.
Hey all, thanks for a great forum, posters!
I have the X38-DQ6 which I've had maybe a month. So far, I have to say I'm abit let down. I shelled out almost $500 here in N.Z which is alot for a guy with no present job, moving up from my p965-S3 (so a huge upgrade or so I thought).
First problem (maybe someone can suggest something I'm missing): My max FSB is...410-420 mhz. Currently on F4 bios but did try one of the F6 bios' to find the max FSB went below 400. I'm very disappointed since my S3 could do 514 perfectly stable although I could only have 2 sticks of ram in at a time.
Second problem: Every couple days or so, the machine, upon reboot, just fails to. It requires taking 3 sticks out and leaving one in, letting it boot up and run a little while and then shutting down and reinserting the ram. What is with this, anyone know ?
I have a Q6600 G0 CPU and G.skill HZ and Crucial ram. Appreciate any suggestions! Thanks.
Luke
Also, is it relatively safe to flash bios from Windows nowadays ? I don't have a floppy drive is all.
I forgot to mention that I had to RMA the first board I got since it just wouldn't POST no matter what. Took it in to get it looked at and they couldn't get it working either. Would go through endless reboot cycle.
Maybe I was a little harsh, I'm not that let down but I do need a stable system that pref overclocks to 450. I didn't think that was too much to ask. I havn't done alot of tweaking so maybe theres hope still.
I flashed the bios with F7f
the result , I cant overclock the system
going back to F7D :)
I'm holding on with F3 bios pic of S-pi 1M with not that optimized memsetting 4-4-4-4 rest auto.

F'n hell chefnr...
Now if only my E6850 would do that.
Thanks i will go for to get my mem at higher speed this is mem at 4-4-4-4 1:1
Then i will get the cpu a bit higher..
Have a pic of 3d05 at same speed.

I have the same probleme as you. But before the endless reboot cycle, the mobo flashed itself from the HDD, and it seems to have failed. I don't understand why it flashed... I just set bad parameters for frequencies and 2.0A (etc)...
It happened the day after I received the mobo.
I had to RMA it too.
Did it happen because of the HDD was a Raid0 ?
Sorry to hear that viquene. Having raided HD's shouldn't affect anything. Did you keep a bios copy on your drive?
Is 420Mhz considered average with these boards ? I can't believe how bad that is compared to other chipsets.
Yes, the bios is still probably on the HDD...
The problem, for me, is not that the flashing failed. It happens. It is just I don't understand WHY it flashed...
I didn't ask anything...
If the params don't allow to boot, the mobo must load default params...no ?
So we're two months on from the X38 release...and STILL no official and/or stable bios....great isin't it?
Gigabyte are a wonderful company that really care about it's customers who keep them in business and put food on there table.
Did anyones sarcasm radar go off just then?
There is alot of droop on the DIMM voltage with this bios, setting 2.0V in bios droops to 1.96V.
 verry funny
if only they had good bios coders:rofl:
they havent fully fixed 965 or p35
what wakes you think they will fix x38:rofl:
well i so pissed @ gigabyte i will never but another gigabyte product not even with a big discount "time is money"
I'm not sure I will go with Gigabyte again either to be honest. I've been a decent customer.. last two video cards + motherboards were gigabyte for example.
Is there any vdroop mods for this ?
