Hmm, coretemp seems to be about 15 degrees lower for me.
Just got my board up and running under water today :)
I did Ace-a-rue's mounting technique for the NB/SB/PWM blocks and their temps dropped quite nicely (no fan yet either)
Currently priming my E6750 at 3.2GHz stock volts, I'll post some more results tomorrow when I get the time
So far this board looks great, I'm excited
personally, i believe this board is slightly better than Asus' P5K.
Just like to add some day#1 observations with the mobo for me.
This is coming from a well tested week 29b e6600, thoroughly worked thru on a AW9-max and an IN9-32x.
Orthos blended stability tested 9*272, 9*300, 9*325, 9*335 no probs, low temps (IFX-14).
At 9*350, couldn't get the thing to even post.
My e6600 is good to about 9*360 on stock 1.2375v.
Went back and took off the heatsink assembly. The PWM pads weren't making good contact on the i/o side column, so I added a little AS ceramique. Then replaced the nb and sb with AS5. Then add 2 low speed 50mm fans to the nb and pwm.
After that, the 9*350 wall disappeared, and I've marched on to 9*360.
So: recommend a TIM changeout.
Also, the TR Ultra 120X and the IFX-14 fit in either configuration no probls.
Some more random notes.
I've found that software overclocking by uguru (windows xp), still isn't as stable as bios. A number of times, settings in uguru would fail stress testing, but going back and setting the exact same settings in the bios were stable. I'm using uguru 3104.
I never use uguru when ocing, I allways use the bios which works out great. This mobo performs very well.
So do I need a bios update to run the new Q6600 G0 stepping chip and if so has one been released yet?
I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I ran my GO on one of the older bios's, may of even been the shipped bios (prior to the command rate option) and it ran just fine.Quote:

Switching to the latest bios M629B_11.B04 hasn't really made any noticeable difference to be honest.

Is the chipset cooled at that fsb?
at 450fsb the nb on my ip35 is just barely warm to the touch
after 500 though it gets pretty hot.
iam on air so i run it 450 max
but yea they run very cool compared to 680i stuff
my pc wont boot with my x-fi fatal1ty , im getting the 25 code error but it boots fine without it and works on my friends pc

hmm sorry for being a noob, but what exactly is PWM? Right now, my uguru is reporting that my PWM is about 70~C under load with my q6600 at 378x9, which is pretty hot and bad for the mobo i assume
gonna try to take off the heatpipes on the mobo and redo it tmr i guess
Looks like I'll be selling yet another Abit board, I really thought they had finally released a decent board but unfortunately Vdroop of ~ .07 using quad is a crime :down: :mad:

I'm kinda curious, before doing the nb/sb mod my heatsinks got pretty hot while under load and the temps were high, then after doing the mod the heatsinks got cooler, but my PWM and system temps went down, what's with that, shouldn't they get hotter due to better heat transfer?
For the record I get a .04 +/-.01v vdroop at stock volts

Just a small update, I have listed below a link to the a Revised Edition of the Manual i.e Revision 1, I'm not sure what has changed but it has also been added to the IP35-PRO section on the ABIT Website.
