What are you guys using to measure CPU temps? Intel Thermal Analysis Tool is reporting 56-57C running Orthos using a Tuniq at 3600mhz which seems too high. PCProbe seems to read lower by 2-4C but also seems to read lower than the BIOS.
Cpu & heatsink are lapped and I'm using AS5.
Sorry, I sent the cpu to 1.25v not 2.5
Thank you for the help guys, appreciate it alot.
So far this is what I've set:
Disabled everything in the advance cpu settings
except "Vanderpool Tech" it won't let you change it.
Set AI Tuning to Manual then
disabled : Spread Spectrum was auto
set PCI Clock sync to 33.33mhz
set CPU vcore back to auto , tried 1.7 and it turned red
Now what about these other settings ?
DRAM Freq: 533, 667, 800, 889, 1067 Which do I use ?
I have Gskill DDR2-1000 memory
Also do I change any of these's setting from auto ?
FSB Term Volt
NB VCore
Mem Volt
DDR2 cannel A Ref
DDR2 cannel B Ref
SB Vcore Sata/PciE
SB chipset volt
Configure DRAM by SPD - set to auto
I'm trying to get the bios set correctly then I'll be able to change the FSB slowly and test w/ prime95 etc.
Thanks everyone
Regards,
Jose
Good morning m8s !
Hey , i have a question !
My Board seems to be not so good ...
465FSB ist the max .... Can it be ?
Which Voltages did you all need for 500 FSB ?
Also NB Vcore , Southbridges , FSB Voltage ...
I dont want to believe that my Commando cant go over 465 FSB .. This is a voltage probleme somewhere ... Who can help ?

Some of it probably has to do with the RAM ratios at certain speeds and NB voltages, but I haven't tried all the combinations because there are thousands of them! ;)
Have you tried different NB/FSB voltages? I have found that if my NB volts are too low, I get a hard lock when benching (mouse freezes, need to hard reset). If I bump up the volts it usually takes care of it. However certain FSB speeds simply won't boot at all.
Either way, it's still SO much more stable than my EVGA 680i, so I am happy. ;) This board is definitely faster through most benchmarks at the same CPU/FSB/RAM speeds which I attribute to tighter internal timings than the 680i.
I have a problem, if i change the multiplier in bios to 6 it wont boot with an fsb at 480. But it boot with 340*9 at the same settings on everything else.
What do you guys think?
Regards
NB overclocking/multiplier problem:
480 x 9/6 = 720 fsb overclock; seems too high; my math may be wrong.
If i set the fsb to 480 and multiplier to 6 it would be 2880MHz and that doesent work.
If i set the fsb to 340 and multiplier to 9 it would be 3060MHz and that works fine.
Or did i not understand you? I am lost:confused: :)
could be your ram can not run at 480Mhz ?Quote:

I mean : 333x9 or 500x6 work without problem. My Ram could do 510 max so i can not test higher FSB.
ps : NB Vcore is 1.35v is ok with 500 FSB
Then i have some serious problem, my ram is 2*1gb of ocz ti alpha pc8000 and should easy do 500fsb. And i have tried to set the NB vcore to 1.5 and it doesent work anyway. And the cpu vcore at 1.5 also, and the screen at the back says chip init.?
What voltage and timings are you using on the memory? Also what is trfc set to in the bios?Quote:

I also think that this version has serious issues with 5:4 divider...:(
no problem at all, it works fine with this 803 BIOS, the highest I can do is 480FSB, 4:5, but my ram are not really stable at DDR1200 CL5. Can you post all the other settings so other guys can help you? :)Quote:

a1 tunning must be manual.
see Dram Frequency.
luck:)
500x7 ram @1ghz is ok
400x9 ram @1ghz no boot at all... (cpu is full stable @3,6ghz)
(timmings 4-4-4-10 tried 2,2 up to 2,4 Vdimm)
Vnorth,fsb @1,3V,tried higher but nothing...
Any help??
Up your SB voltage(SATA-PCIE) to 1.7-1.8 and you will boot.I had the same problem.I think you sould also raise your Vnorth to 1.6 but try the SB first.

Thx a lot!!:toast:
weird - some other guy wrote 1,35 NB is ok for 500FSB, why then 1,5 for the NB at 400FSB
1.35 is ok for over 500.
I run 525x8 with 1.35nb and all other voltages at the lowest setting. Fully orthos stable.
But then again i have a thermalright hr-05 on my nb and not the stock heatpipe.
Come on guys, async always needs more Vmch than sync!!!
Ι don't think so...Quote:

Yes 4:5 always needs much more juice than 2:3, but 1:1 needs less than any other so you're both right.
