what was your Vcore set to? (the asus probe tool always shows it lower...I had mine at 1.4875 and it shows 1.4)Quote:

that's been known for a long time!
Mine reads like 1.2 v no matter the vCore until I hit 1.5v in BIOS, then it reads .05v low.Quote:

guys, break it down to me....
I've tweaked my OC settings some more, tightened the RAM timings, and lowered the Vcore while remaining stable...all is well so far. I got the e6300 OC'd to near 3.2ghz using a Scythe Infinity +fan.
My problem is that I feel my temperatures are way too high.... 50C/57C idle/load!
Mobo also shows 40-41C
is just that I live in Florida and my house is usually around 79F ambient, or perhaps I have a bad mount of the Heatsink? :(
Is this normal?
ps- I'm running Vcore at 1.400, and Vdimm at 2.25v.
Ive just ordered one of these ot replace my P5W64 which reported stupidly high cpu temps.
Hope its a good one :)
P5B Deluxe is great. But it shows hight temps too. My idle temp with core temp is 40-41c. And 50-55c @ load! So it seems the 965 chipsets or, c2d with it shows higher temps, or something. Because i thought with C2D being 65nm and so would be much cooler, but at these temps its much higher than amd cpu´s.Quote:

You can choose the program to clear cmos or not. But i recommend you do clear cmos when updating with Asus Updater. So yes then you need to set all settings again. But yes the asus updater works fine, you can use it with no worries. ;)Quote:

Hello there folk´s.
I´ve got a small problem, my Board (P5B Deluxe Wifi) was pretested @530 FSB an my Cellshocks are pretested @ 1200, but my damn E6400 only reaches 400MHz with 1,45V and over 50 degrees...to much i think ;) The CPU is an E6400 with the Stepping L628xx My Cooler is an Sonictower@5V FGLLE Papst. Is there anything i could tweak or mod?
alright...just to make sure I dont FUBAR' it, I update bios in windows with Asus update, then load optimized settings, reboot, goto BIOS, and re-enter my OC settings, and then start up again?Quote:

Go to bios and load optimized def
F10 / reboot
Go to bios and set your prefs
Those are the steps i always take and it works fine.
yes :)
but go in steps to that frequency just tu be shure ;)
Doing this in windows I assume, right? Perhaps I didn't look hard enough, but I dont remember the app having a default loadQuote:

A lot of people keep putting more volts into the CPU because when they fail orthos or other stress tests, they think it's the CPU and keep feeding it more power. When it could be that You just have an unstable FSB or Ram.
At the same time, these chips act very weird.
You may only need 1.28 to get to 3150mhz, but to get to 3200 you might need 1.45, that extra 50mhz might not be that easy. I will find out for sure once i get home and try it myself.
I remember when I had my opty165, i could 2.95 at 1.45v all day long... but getting to 3.00 was a different story even at 1.6V, by then i just got scared, never got stable.
hmmm batch L628.... :DQuote:

Bios 0711 fixed the double restart/false start issue it seems. That's good, but otherwise it seems the same as before for me.
Mmm fixes that issue SWEEET.Quote:
