lol......
this board is driving me nuts...
refuses to set the CAS latency to 5, sticks at 3.
Set CAS to 6 and PCI-E speed to 100MHz manually, now no boot. Keeps looping through failed POST.
the best part is that I can't reset the BIOS. Obviously that should fix the problem.... but no....
105MHz for PCIE and it should be ok
same problem here. I set it to 5-5-5-12 but cas latency is set at 3 as wellQuote:

If this board can do E6600 stable at 3.6 ghz, i'll have it!
isnt default spec 100MHz?Quote:

After several hours of tinkering, I can safely say this board has a lot of issues. Even with stock and fail-safe settings I am getting artifacts and lockups. I have tried every pc part used in another computer and they all work perfectly fine. The only difference being the board.
so its been running at 3.6GHz now, had to jumpstart with my friend's mushkin again to get it running.
How do my settings look? anything obvious I'm missing? (why are the PCI express and PCI clocks half of what they should be?)
voltage high or low for this speed?
Gigabyte emailed me back about the ram dividors, they said they will forward my suggestion to the right department.
I guess if we all do it then they will add it to the bios :D
I sent that via http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/ServiceCenter.aspxQuote:
Hi, i'd just like to let you know that this board is missing a vital feature, memory dividers which make the ram run slower than the FSB.
Many people on many message boards are not buying this board because of the fact this is missing. Could you add this feature in a future bios update?
Thanks.
So if a couple more people do it they may listen :)

-I do realize an E6600 won't go past 400... Is it possible this can be fixed in a BIOS revision though?
-I'm thinking of going with a Scythe Ninja (or a Tuniq Tower if I can find one) - what northbridge cooler will perform the best and still fit with one of these gigantic coolers?
Thanks.
I am a noobie. I bought the DS3 and have a PD 820 OC'd to 3.4 and a WD 2500KS SATA hardrive. Had trouble getting the HDD to work in SATA. I don't think I ever did manage it. I ran the HDTACH and got 55.5 MS search and 169 MB/s read whether I was at IDE in the BIOS or ACHI. Could someone tell me all the BIOS settings to use on the Peripherl page of the bios starting at the top in order to have SATA functional? Thanks
Just a quick screenshot of the Bios of someone using SATA? I'm running XP 64bit. ATI x1900 gt. 2 gig of Corsair xms 5400 c4.
arg, 805@3.6 failed dualprime after 4 hours... vcore up or down? its at 1.325 now
i can confirm it boots every single time at 400mhz FSB 1:1 on the ram
i can do that go back turn all overclocking off go into windows power off. power on set it to 400 right off the bat,,, reboot and she boots right up.
i have not had any cold boot issues either after powering the system down all night long.
ditto at 450 MHz 1:1 for me.Quote:

Just double checking, but these 400+FSB 1:1 are all in BIOS not software overclocks right?
and are these dual prime stable as well?

help guys ...
BIOS is F3
^^
I've been having this problem as well. Increasing the vmch has stopped it in my case. Now the system boots whenever i restart.
I think the system is telling you something is unstable. Have a play around with some of the settings and maybe try some more vmch as it helped me.
i can boot when i restart, but i cant boot after i power down PSU
restart or changing BIOS n reboot works fine, i jsut cant pwoer on from power down lol i guess
also i have been doing 4Ghz for couple dyas now still. i play games ... dont have any problem at all
