Load temps at 40C. Wouldn't run these voltages 24/7, but it sure is fun right now. Going to try to prime at about 3125 or so.

Than try Prime at 3125Mhz your Loadtemps on Air are Ok by this Frequency.
But your Vcore is very high!
Never the less nice CPU.

Yea I have 623-3 but I can't run my OCZ EL Platinum Rev. 2 @ 274HTT. People are doing 2.5-4-3-7 3.0V @ 300HTT with this memory, I can't do the same timings @ 274HTT. Even 3-4-4-8 does not work out! Uh I am confused.....

I just got my CAB2E 0540FPMW 144 from Dream Hardware and I noticed that it already has thermal paste on it. Has anyone had good OC results using the stock paste or should I clean it off and use Artic Silver?? The paste looks pretty thick to me. I'm getting my motherboard on tuesday and just looking for some opinions. I'm going to try the stock heatsink first and see what kind of results I can get.

If it has thermal paste on it, and it is a boxed version you bought, then the cpu has already been used, and probably returned for some obscure reason (bad clocker??).
Even if it is a tray version you bought, the cpu should be clean wihout any traces of themal paste.

LOL, the hs comes with the thermal paste on it, just clean it off and use as5, a little dab will do you.

Thanks, Yes 623-2 but with GeIL ONE TCCD not the BH on this .... still working on how to max the Mem Mhz but at least I know the chip is good - better than expected.

I haven't had a chance to play with my Opty 146 CABNE 0530APMW in almost two weeks. Trying to sneak in a few minutes this morning.

Last I left it I had it 32M stable at 3.46ghz but any higher and it crapped out. I thought it might be my Twinmos SP UTT holding things up and sure enough when I dropped a bigger divider on it, I was finally able to meet my goal. I was reluctant to use the 140 divider because the bios has a hard time reporting the correct memory speed. I believe the actual memory speed is around 245 although CPU-Z picked it up as 350. :p: Everest seems to know whats up.

My goal for this CPU when I first started playing with it was 3.5ghz. Finally made it! :toast: :woot:

Thanks. But I think I might be done with that one. I need to start testing on another Opty 146 CABNE 0530APMW. I'll start with some air sometime during the next couple of days.

@Gundamit, that does it - mine coming out of the box today. If I can get into the 21's that is better than the SD I have now. I notice the Dynamic Idle Cycle Counter is disabled. Iirc I read something about this with these cpu. Does it need to be disabled for certain reasons or absolutly for oc. thanks.

Lol. You're asking Mr.Short Term Memory! I can't recall, thats why I keep all my old screenies so I can remind myself of the memory settings. It may be that its just the default setting and I never tried it another way. :confused:

I got sick of resetting the bios trying to get this ram to run faster.

I could do 10x250 1:1 but nothing higher (maybe 260 1:1 I forget)

I am now running 10x280 with ram at 234mhz. I was thinking it might be my MB but who knows. Maybe later this week I will mess around some more.

I do not think that you are alone .. it maybe that the FPAW chips are experiencing this issue of > 260-265 - no boot.

I had to raise volt a bit for 3.0ghz. It seems to work better with certain '%' of VID. Still it is less than I needed with SD. No, my shots are Pi 1 M only.

My CAYE does 2800 MHz 12 hours Prime stable at stock volts.

I didn't have time to prime at higher volts yet :(

Sorry but SP2004 is not the best Stabilitytest.
If you want to go sure then use Prime95 version 24.14!
And make the Test Custom FFTS in place changing every 15 Minutes. (8-4096).
Thats the ultimative Stabilitytest for the CPU!!!!!!!!

The SP2004 is the Old version of Prime 95 Versions before 24.xx.
And these versions are not optimized to set the new CPUs under 100%Load.
Prime Versions higher than 24.11 are better for Stability Test.
Try it and you will see. Same Frequency and Vcore and than let SP2004 run. After an Hour try it with Prime 24.14 Custom FFTS in Place . And the CPU will soon give up.

SP2004 is like SuperPi.Says nohting about Stability.
If you dont believe it test it out with SP2004 an Prime95 24.14.
Set a Vcore an Frequency thats Stable under SP2004 und then let Prime95 24.14 Custom
FFTs in place changing every 15 Minutes run. And you will fail in the first minutes or seconds. And thats the Truth.

Or Try it with RC5-72 or Setihome.

I just removed one on my 146 CABYE 0536GPMW. Load temps of 53C on Water with a Swiftech Storm had me pissed so off it came.

Load temps dropped 14C to 39C with 1.55v @ 2800MHz.

Be very carefull using the razor blade. I found it much easier to slide the razor blade under the IHS at a corner, more like just pushing it under the IHS. But take care not to slide blade in to far. There are some circuits in there that can be damaged. Just take a look at one some has posted with the IHS off and you will see what I mean.

I'm sure someone else has posted this in this thread before but here it is again. A short movie on the removal. This fella used a razor and a screw driver to pry the IHS off. I didn't like the idea of twisting a blade under the IHS so I just used the razor to cut the sealing material but either will work.

I just removed one on my 146 CABYE 0536GPMW. Load temps of 53C on Water with a Swiftech Storm had me pissed so off it came.

Load temps dropped 14C to 39C with 1.55v @ 2800MHz.

Be very carefull using the razor blade. I found it much easier to slide the razor blade under the IHS at a corner, more like just pushing it under the IHS. But take care not to slide blade in to far. There are some circuits in there that can be damaged. Just take a look at one some has posted with the IHS off and you will see what I mean.

I'm sure someone else has posted this in this thread before but here it is again. A short movie on the removal. This fella used a razor and a screw driver to pry the IHS off. I didn't like the idea of twisting a blade under the IHS so I just used the razor to cut the sealing material but either will work.

+8h and running with 3103MHz 1.5V 23ºC ambient AIR, nothing special with Prime :D

So and thats running still yesterday here on my 170 0536MPMW. Ambient Temps between 17-18,5°C.

There is always some dissent as to what is deemed to be an acceptable proggy to show 100% torture stability (mainly by those who's systems are not 100% using Prime95 v24.14 :rolleyes: )

You have a marvellous chip there Dani if you can run Prime v24.14 @ over 3.1Gigs :fact: :clap: , definately a keeper :)

But your first Screen at 3,1Gig and 1,5Vcore under Air is interesting.

I have an Ambient between 17,5°C und 18,5°C but you Chipset at higher Ambient is lower than mine.
And i have the original DFI Northbridgecooler on Board.
Yours must be modded or under water or your Ambient is below 15°C.

I Would appreciate results from anyone running a 148 CABYE 0543 FPMW :) .

I won't be able to stick any juice through mine for a couple of days and I am curious as to what this stepping can/could do .

in all fairness, 2.5ghz on a 170 isnt much of a OC compared to others and you go on about this prime 24.14 but its only using 50% of your cpu, not exactly tortue is it? :stick:

At 1.33v its probably could run Prime indefinitely! I want to see something freaky! Show us 2.8ghz and up! :p:

Yes it's modded, here is a pic of my old setup with tuned VapoChill LS, but I use that NB cooler, 100% copper, fan @ silent :)

Chipset cooler

..and ambient temp is 22-23ºC ;)
