Hey all, thanks for the great info in this thread. I was lurking around and was wondering if the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Mobile AMN3700BKX5BU Socket 754 chip will work on the Chaintech VNF-250 motherboard.
Thanks!
with the right bios, i do believe it will.. probably any bios newer than last may :p:
Thanks for the response. I just received the chip today and popped it in. It posted detecting the mobile 3700 and then crashed loading up windows, which it probably should since I didn't adjust any settings and it didn't have cooler. Just wanted to make sure it works. Sweet! Still waiting on the cooler. Ordered a Zalman CNPS7000-CU. Running a 3200+ right now and hopefully will see a little bit of a speed increase.
nice :D
be sure to bend the little hold-down bar some to apply extra force, the zalman is meant for lidded cpus :(
I have two questions:
1. Where can I buy a 3700+ or 4000+ Mobile; I see that Atomizer just purchased one.
2. I thought both of these chips were lidless hence the need for a H like the Zalman mentioned as opposed to an XP120 for example.
thanks!

I dunno if he still has any. last time we talked he told me school was first in his agenda...
Vandi423 used to have em from here, shoot him a pm and you can find out..
I found a 4000+ for 380 shipped but Ithink it was supposed to be listed at 330$
I also found a 3700+ for 200$.....I just want to hit 3gHz and it sounds like the 3700+ can do it and it's way cheaper...
