Ada3500dep4as Caa2c 0505fpmw - Huh?

Well, I fixed my high temp thing. As the previous person said he doubt my temps were hitting 80c, he was right. Thanks. Abit Av8 has a severe problem with the temp readings. I found this out through the abit forums. I had to reflash my bios several times with an older version to get it to run more accurately. Now my temps seem just slightly low for a 3500 but not more than 2 or 3c low. My average idle at stock 2240mhz is ~35c and load is 44c. Its about the same with my system overclocked at 2600mhz. I just order a complete new overhaul on my system cooling. Ordered a CoolerMaster Cavalier from svc for $50 along with an Thermalright XP-90 and a Zalman 700Cu VGA cooler for my 6800gt. I'm really curious to see how low my system runs after all this. I'll report back with my oc'ing abilities with this stuff next week.

how stable, and what're your temps? 1.9v seems kinda high. What're you running it at for 24/7 use? Maybe some burning in would give you 3200mhz with a little less voltage.

Hold up.. It has only been running for 12 hours :slap:

I am still playing with it.. that is the Max it wil boot into windows at and I still have a lot of tweaking to do on it.

Vapo chamber temp is -43C and cannot tell cpu temp as none of them are reading temps right.. one reads 123C and another reads -10C :cool:

Clawhammers have always like High Vcore voltages.

haha, sorry to jump the gun there. And yeah 1.9v is safe, not sure what people suggest as 24/7 voltage being safe tho. I wouldn't worry about using 1.9v 24/7 even, it just dosn't give you alot of breathing room to go higher is all.

Just recieved my 3500+ ClawHammer hopefuly I will reach 2.7-2.8 stable with
it. I will test it in the days to come, I will post results. I will start with stock
cooling and finish with water cooling (swiftech 6002-64). Lucky me it was a
CAA2C :banana: Anyone having a CAA2C 0509 FPMW. Any good, I won't

Is there a confirmed relation between steppings or is it always luck of the draw?

I had an FX-55 that was that stepping Kosmic71 that wouldn't do over 2756 MHz

Luck of the draw. My CAA2C won't go above 2.65ghz no matter what voltage.

Got a 3500ASBOX, ordered 04/14, arrived from newegg today 04/18.

ADA3500DEP4AS CAAXC 0432MPMW ......looks like an older 4000 core.

I was hoping for one of the newer CAA2C chips. Don't know about this one. It may clock well but I'm not getting my hopes up. If you're expecting the CAA2C with a late week code from newegg - maybe not. Looks like I either got a stray or they have run out of the late week code CAA2C chips.

there is no guarantee of a good OC. It only tells you that the odds is on your

Kosmic71....First part, right. Second part...I don't quite know how to address.

Steppings and week codes are important in determinig potential.
Almost all chips manufactured with the same (identical) code have very near the same potential. Whether or not you can achieve a particular speed, is dependant on many things but it's always best to have a good core in your hands to start with.

As far as the CAAXC chip, I'm not too optomistic. The earlier DEP4AS chips were not particularly good clockers. (Check the available data)
We'll see... I should have it up and tested in a week or so.

2 people have the smae stepping as me. On got stuck at like 2.55 if i recall and the other was nearing 2.7 So idk

What are you guys getting with water?

I'm on water. 2 120mm D-Tek Pro Rads in series with YS Tech 120x38mm 125CFM fans on a Eheim 1250. I get roughly 85F idle, 88-90F load@75F ambient temps. And my chip hits the wall at 2.6ghz.

wow thats good temps. I guess I should look into that huuuuuh. although i don't kknow if its worth 275$ to get 100+ MHZ

Well got my second 3500+ Clawhammer in; the first was a
ADA3500DEP4AS CAAXC 0432MPMW. I didn't even want to mess with that and sent it back, unopened.

The one that came in today was ordered from Newegg on 4-13, shipped out of Edison, NJ. After reading of what joe111 got from newegg on 4-18 I was like "oh no, not again!", but it wasn't one of those.

It is a CAA2C 0508APMW. That is a trip, arrived one day apart.

At any rate, hopefully this week of production was a good one. I'll know soon enough. Gonna put it in an Epox 9NDA3+.

I'm thinking of getting one of these chips since it doesn't look like the Venice cores won't be coming out for another two weeks and my SLI system is sitting on my desk without a CPU. Does anybody know if ZZF is still selling CAA2C chips? Also I noticed that Monarch Computer is selling AS chips, has anybody ordered from there? If I don't see any Venice's by the end of the week (and it looks like I won't) then I'm going to get one of these, just haven't figured out where to order from yet.

I'm looking for the best OCer, im getting a phase change in a couple months

God only knows what is selling where on any given day. The chip I returned, the CAAXC 0432XPMW was from ZZF, but they easily could have something else now. Seems like you can get one stepping one day, then a totally different one and even month or year of production, the next!

Even going with what one person gets from a place; by the time one acts on that info, it is old and maybe no longer valid.
