I am not sure what you mean - can you be more specific?!
Well basically everytime i reboot it will detect new hardware, even though it was detected before. Always something different, alot of the onboard features get detected such as the onboard lan, or sound ect randomly.
Also i get this random beeping noise in windows at random times, a good amount of times... It makes the noise of disconnect device / connect device even though it doenst pop up any message. I even changed the noise in sounds in control panel and it will play that sound instead everytime . So i know windows is for some reason detecting something new...
Any help :D
Sounds like a driver issue to me. Just disable ALL the onboard stuff you are not using in the bios and install 5.10 drivers after a clean install of windows.
What bios, BTW?
1.3 can u link me too those drivers please?
I want to flash my current BIOS (1.3), to the official 1.41 I downloaded from Chralie's thread over "Best Of AMD". But when I press the Live Update, an Explorer window shows up and nothing happens (adressbar shows - "file:///c:/Program%20Files/MSI/Live%20Update%203/MSI.htm") :(
What should I do flash it (I DON'T have a floppy!) so I can start my tweaks?! :(
And there are any other 1.41? beta/official/mod? if so can some1 link me?
Thanks in advnace.
Best regards,
Swing
did you use this prog?
1.41 is a beta bios.Quote:
C:\Program Files\MSI\Live Update 3\FlashUty\Award\WinFlash.exe
Just execute and select bios... wait one minute, reboot and you're done
There also is a modded 1.41 bios.
Take a look here
Jack, we need more people like you in our forums  :toast: :D ;)
So which bios will be better? 1.40 official, 1.41 beta or 1.41 mod?
Thanks in advance.
i'm just glad i can help others out :)
but i don't know which bios is better.
I'm currently running 1.36 since it seems to work nice with my BH-5.
just flash one of those 3 biosses and test which one works best :)
In 1.41mod, do the voltage options above 10% work?
bachus_anonym found a way to raise Vcore to 1.78V max, no matter what bios. :)
1.41 Beta mod bios, anyone try it?
Hi!
Some Neo2 settings question, BIOS @ 1.4:
Sideband Adressing - On/Off?
FastWrites - On/Off?
Spread Spectrum - On/Off?
LDT Multi @ 5x/4x/3x?
Dynamic OCing - On/Off?
Cool&Quiet - On/Off?
And it seems that I can't enter the Advanced options.
I press SHIFT+F2 for few secs, then ALT+F3 and nothing happens.
The red blank goes from Cell menu to "Standart Bios Features".
Thanks in advance, :D

True. However, if I start adjusting FSB @ speeds above 300 in Core Center, comp freezes.

Do you read the thread, or do you only post ;)
for FSB - use clockgenQuote:

***bachus_anonym beat me to it ;)
and as bachus already said, dont leave CoreCenter running in the background.
That program is evil :stick:
Yes I read it
But I just want to be sure before I change anything,
Also I don't know what BIOS ver. those Tips are regarding, the optimal settings can be different from ver. to ver. As for the hidden options... It really didn't work for me.

OK, sounds good ;) I have to say, stability is much better with CoreCenter now. MSI is working on it.
Very nice thread! Thanks!
hey guys,
just read through the entire 31 pages. took about 45 min.. :)
sooo.. just went to monarch and ordered me a k8n neo2, 3500+ winchester, zalman 7000B-AlCu, and ddr booster. what bios should I give a shot first? 1.36b??
/goes off to read the entire "S939 mobos - known bugs, tweaks and fixes" thread
im trying to get the damn raid to work. WHY ISN"T IT WORKING!!!!!!!!!
Yeah do that. Otherwise just use the latest official 1.4 bios & once you're into Windows, then use Core Center to adjust voltages up to 1.76v-1.8v for Winnies..Quote:

Off we go...

In the hidden options:
DRAM Drive Strength (???) - Should I leave it Off/On?
PCI Auto Detect - On/Off?
Thanks! :banana4:
One more question:
Which bios will be better - 1.36BETA or 1.36Mod?

as for dram strenth, weak or normal, just set them to either and test...
each board/mem is different
hope this helps :)
Thanks, but what does DRAM Drive Strength do?
