well grr. so far im the only one with that batch to have it fail which makes me think my mobo is just stupid.
there seems to be more success with gigabyte boards

it is fully capable if unlocking... apparently haha. looking at the list on page one very few people use it and iv been told that this board has issues in general.. and i have had to replace it once already.
i plan on getting a gigabyte board on boxing day :) so i will see if thats any better.
Any idea where I can order a C3 550? The improved memory controller is what I am interested in.
i would be interested in this aswell
got some updates, so far this thing is pretty impressive. Learning allot about the little nuances of AM3 clocking. Fun stuff :)

Hi
Ive just got myself a 0940 x2 550 be, im using a Asus M4A785TD-M EVO (bios 0910) and it seems to unlock ok, comes up in bios as unlocked 4 cores, and windows sees it as a X4 B50 quad, occasionally im getting some weird graphically glitches, photos and pics have a grainy appearance etc, im guessing it hasnt been 100% succesfull? I had considered swapping a board for a gigabyte one, my other thought was it might be overheating?
I get graphic issues as well with my 945 when unlocked. Even with fresh OS install etc. Anything Flash related (Adobe/Shockwave) Pretty sure its the chip. To bad because she is prime stable @ 3.85 4cores 1.5v.
nice surprise yesterday, my c3's came yesterday evening and i popped one in this morning

I got these from bottom line telecommunications for anyone that wants to buy one.
haven't tried to unlock it yet, or any unlocking on this mobo for that matter, but it's looking like it'll be very possible to run prime stable at 4.0 with high NB and only 1.46v on the core with air. close to 4.1 may be possible as a dual core on air with this chip.
edit:
here is my first go clocking as a dual core

definitely still headroom here
Just ordered one - $118.00 - a bit more than the C2's but no tax or shipping for me.
how much did you get them for from there?
let me know the unlock outcome when u get there
That first chip stopped clocking at 4045 with 1.53v - 3999 at 1.46v is right where it liked to run. It wouldn't unlock- It'll post as a quad but that's all.
I switched to the second one and it does unlock fine. I'm currently priming it at stock to gauge just how stable it is. It has higher stock volts than the other chip, but it does unlock. I'll post clocking results later when I have them.
So far this is the best I could get from my 550@B50

The batch is 0925APMW.
The other one (0924BPMW) doesn't unlock, but clocks a little bit higher.

It's 4GHz stable at 1.5125V.
This bios currently has tons of random issues regarding video and audio that crop up whenever I enable the "unlock" hybrid microcode in bios with the C3 chips installed, even when leaving ACC and the disabled cores off.
But the unlockable chip does crunch stable:

I'm going to try it in my DFI motherboard and see how that one handles the chip after I finish clocking it in this board. I think it certainly has more headroom, but I just don't know how much more after the way the other one fell over completely after 4.0
let me know if the dfi board even unlocks it :S
im hoping mine isnt the only messed one :P
0921APBW - cdawall - Asus Crosshair III - BIOS 503 - Fail - Link
on BIOS 1204 this will unlock i will post a SS of it after i reassemble it
i have just got model
0944bpmw. seems from what i have seen in one post, no one can get it to quad unlock
0929APMW - Enyan - ASRock M3A785GMH/128M - BIOS 1.40 - TRI Core Success (3rd core unstable @ stock voltages)
x4 B50 would not run stable with stock NB voltage and Vcore up to 1.4V (crashes/BSOD during P95), but I noticed the third core always failing SuperPI calculations so I decided to disable that core. After that it was rock solid at core voltages.
0929APMW - Enyan - ASRock M3A785GMH/128M - BIOS 1.40 - QUAD Core Success (Stable @ Vcore 1.4V, NB 1.2V)

Fully stable running X4 B50 at stock speeds, Vcore @ 1.4V and NB @ 1.2V. Cool 'n Quiet also works well (Vcore @ 1.0V and multiplier @ 4x) so I think it will also run well with only NB @ 1.2V and Vcore @ 1.35V (stock). Havn't tried OCing yet as I am happy with only the unlock for now.
somebody can help me????
went i unlock to 4core cannot load window just hang ....bios stas x4 already...
somebody can help me please...
nope don't try increase voltage use stock only...your already sucess 4core???
If it unlocks, but doesn't want to load Windows, then you have bad core, or they are healthy, but weaker than the other 2. My advice is to try playing with ACC values for the "bad" cores, it seems to help for many of the unlocked chips out there, let's say +4,+6, even +12 helps some CPUs. You can try also increase the voltage a little bit to see if it helps, because the weaker cores might need higher values, even A LOT higher voltage. For example, mine wants +0.05V more for 4GHz, compared to the same frequency at 2cores. I just have one weaker core, but the chip can handle about 3550 at 4 cores with default voltage. Your unlocked cores seem to be weaker, if not bad. The other thing you can try is to increase the northbridge voltage a little, it helps for stability, too.
bro my proc batch 0941b??? forgot ....
already try what you tell....
what mobo success unlock using this batch ..... please tell me..
