for my P5B new beta bios(0706) was a relief. Now I can reach fsb500 with no problem. Actually now my memory cant go any further. :)

Well my e6400 is ordered and for the time being i am using my 805d in the Asus P5b-d wifi. One thing i have noticed is that i cant hard set my memory to ddr2-700 but if i leave it to auto then it works fine at 1:1 350mhz which is the same thing. can anyone explain this? happens in either slots 1 or 2 sticks. Timmings set at 3-4-4-10. Passed memx86 for about an hour with no probs on auto.

Can anybody tell me what the p5b deluxe does when nothing is inserted and turned on? I'm mean only both powerconnectors connected without cpu, vidcard, mem. I;m thinking you will get at least beeping errors.
I need this info to no for sure my board is broken.

have you tried to pull the battery and clear CMOS for about 5-10 minutes...to make sure the bios code is reset and all capacitors are cleansed of any static electricity...pull your ATX power plug from the board when you do this.

Yep!
The first thing the board was doing after the fatal crash is continuesly rebooted like on,off,on,off, etc. After turning down the power for sometime it didn't go on,off anymorel it stayed on, but that's about it, no post, no beeps, no nothing:confused: Oyeah, during/just after the board crashed it smelled like something was burning. Any pictures of the burnt " fet"?
What's that by the way:confused:

Any word from asus?

no word from Asus...i've called and never heard back. there is an FET close to the wifi board. I looked at them and they visually seem ok, but you never know by just looking.

I would just RMA it and start fresh.

Only problem is, if you RMA a motherboard you will not normally receive a new board as replacement. You are going to get a refurb back from ASUS, which may be fine, or may have an issue that went undiagnosed. This is true of just about every computer-electronics component RMA.

So, you may or may not be "starting fresh".

if within 30 days, I would return it for a refund (which is what I did with mine), and just order another one...that way, you are assured a new one, and also save some time when returning, etc.

My comp restarts halfway in a game or the game just exit to windows

currently running pci express frequency at = 100

363FSB X 9
Vcore 1.55

It passed the 32M SUperPi tests though

Any ideas ?

Btw cannot use clockgen while cpuz 1.37 is open, gives "device driver already running" error...

after 2 bad/burned boards, PSU issues, yada yada yada, I finally was able to achieve this!! e6300 conroe over air:

I'm at 50C under no load, so I'm not liking that, so I think for everyday 24/7 use, I will drop down to just 3.0ghz, and drop the Vcore from 1.4875 to 1.475.

32m superpi is not much of a stress test. Try some 3dmark and orthos.

While all chips are different, 1.55 vcore should be more than enough to run at 3.27ghz; seems a little high actually.

Check your temps during orthos. Coretemp has a log file you can look at as well to see what it was when you fail in the game.

so I ran 3d marks to see how it is...dunno what the numbers should be...is this ok?
all x1900xt and other settings at default...just my first run for sanity testing.

how are my temps? seems a little high...mid 50's to upper 50's under load, 50 with no load... :confused:

my e6400 @ 3200MHz and x1900xt 256mb @ stock and I scored 11,5k in mark05. i dunno if your score is cpu limited or not.
