Added support for the latest Core2 Duo E7200, E8300 :) And for even unknown E7300
E7300, if it will be released, will be best CPU, 10x multiplier and 1066FSB, which give 4GHz simply at 1600FSB, so everybody can overclock it on our P5W :)

Looking at what lies ahead regarding Gfx cards and mobo's I would hold off that buy till mid summer... and rethink ya buys again...
Just installed a E2160@2.88 (Vcore Auto with EIST/C1E) on my now spare P5W (BIOS 2406) with a self done vLite slipstream Vista x64/SP1 - works really great with no problems doing S3 sleep/resume. Got to install the latest Intel chipset (got mine off MSI) as well as the Asus ATK0110/Realtek Wireless (available on Win updates) drivers to remove all traces of unknown devices in the Device Manager.
Haven't seen any aberrant "config disk" popping up yet too. :)
Update
Tried a new install today on a PATA harddisk on ICH7 with the same self done vLite slipstream Vista x64/SP1 source DVD on JMicron PATA and that irritating "config disk" has appeared once so far. Had to install the JMicron RAID drivers later to get S3 to work right too else the PATA ODD disappears on resume. Managed to edge the E2160@2.92GHz Auto Vcore.
I have a Asus P5W (almost same like the P5W DH Deluxe).
I connected my WDC 500 GB SATA HDD on SATA Port 1 (RED)
Now I want to connect a SATA Optiarc DVDRW, I tried every SATA port.
The bios detect the SATA DVDRW drive, but I can't boot up from CD in this drive.
What port should I use and what setting in the BIOS.
I would like to use AHCI for the WDC harddrive.
I migt try Q9300, E8400 and E7300 on P5W DH.
What is latest "good" bios?
Hmm try latest 2704, in which they officially support E7300, Q9300 C1. I haven't see any changes in overclocking with all last versions, because all power saving features always off.
No, I meant that I disable all these functions then I buy board and didn't test them at all after, bacause don't require them
I just tried E8400 on P5WDH Deluxe with bios 2704, works fine but max FSB seems to be 372MHz, not very good.
Edit:
Now I tested Q9300 and its max stable FSB was 388MHz, weird that quadcore works better than dualcore.
Sound very bad such low FSB with dualcore, is it bad mb or which FSB it can handle with 65nm dualcore?
It's time to upgrade lads to get some decent FSB out of a newer CPU... latencies on the NB are way too tight to handle these new CPU's at 400 plus FSB...
IMO, we need to be mindful that the P5W DH Deluxe was more geared for P4 and E6000 series CPUs (better OC'ing the dual core then quad) using PC6400 ram. After going from that to a X38 using a E8400 a performance increase at the same OC was found. I don't think I have the pics any more it's been a while.
My board did 455Mhz FSB with 1.65v on the north bridge with an E8400. Thats with 4-4-4-12 timings and 2704 beta bios.
See pic => http://lordm.net/files/korgan-ownage/410.JPG
I think you have to check your settings i BIOS one more time.
Korgan not all P5W boards went as good, not even guruanteed on the newer MCH improved versions, I had the luck to be owner of one with 440FSB out of the bios, but sadly it died due to some electrical powercuts at my place, the RMA board was a newer rev but didn't clock as good... went to the Striker then (worst decision ever lol)
Peeps that have this board for a long time must be happy it still supports the newer rev CPU's... OC'ing is never certified and varies from board to board, user to user,... and if ya want to push these CPU's hard more bios options are required which the P5W really lacks (but all boards of it's age do)
Hi All,
I am currently running the P5W w/ 2GB or RAM. I have run it with as much as 4GB in the past. I have recently been working with multiple VM's under Vista x64 (Disregard my sig, no longer running OSX), and MAN does it get bogged down easily. I am looking to upgrade to an 8GB kit, as it's so darn cheap, but wondering if anyone has had issues w/ 4x2GB kits on this board?
Here are the modules I am looking at, as I have had very good luck with G.Skill in the past, and right now I am looking at value over decadence. :)

I welcome any thoughts, suggestions, opinions, etc.
THANKS!
:up:In any case these are great Dimms at a very fair price... and they will give ya some headroom in case you ever tend to replace ya P5W with another 775 DDR2 mobo... I would try one kit first and see how they run...
I love these dimms top notch hardware
I reset the CMOS after flasing 2704 and had everything at Auto. After various mysterious crashes I noticed that the vCore was reported as low as 1.07V by CPU-Z. Other people on the Web posted that underclocking helped, and so that's what now workes for me. I am not thrilled with 2704 not offering around 1.3V as an option...
