but what f the venice still has some bugs??
we wont know for sure, so thats y most of us "poor ones" will have to wait...
yeah, +1 hereQuote:

im sorry im not trying to be rude but it couldnt of bin EXCELLENT Gskill as my Gskill on my winnie gets 7600mb in sandra at 2.5GHz at 2.8 i would be arround 8100-8500 with the right timings it may be good ram for cewrtin speeds but not so good that high or he was running a divider it dosnt matter you cant just say they suck without even knowing 4 reviews is not enof and thats how many are out now when i look into buying a part i read at least 7-10 reviews on the product and ask ver knolageable people to make sure its worth the money it will cost
Geforce nailed it....thank you. :toast:Quote:

Had I known earlier I could have had them as early as Tomorrow. But now if I were to order they would be here on Monday.
So this means that Newegg and other places should have them in about a week of so!
But No Venice Yet. :( AMD called me but nothing official yet. Still looking though but I guess most of you have already Pre-Ordered. Happy OCing!
Where do you see the turion ?
Ben there is no since in posting a anwser to your post as i said what i ment ah screw it why not
you will see a performance gain but my words to every one with winnies includeing me and my high clocked winnie at 2.6GHz
AMD admits there memory controllers on the winnie are pretty faulty hents you cant put it under phase you cant run 4 dimms with 1T and your lucky if you can run 4 at all and most cant scal high HTT with 1:1 divider now those of you that can scale high give it 3 months with your chip scaled high on air and watch it become a case like SNDS but now it will be SWDS i know i have had three winnies and highly scaled HTT and 1.6v on air is what killed the first 2 so if there is a better alternative such as the Venice which you have seen in the 4 review that exsist they have better mem controllers
hents the need FOR MORE REVIEWS the more PROOF you have the better off you are and the more reviews the more they show like PI calculations and Prime stability, and lets see you bring 2 screen shots of benchmarks done on similar rigs and see it match up  you cant because it dont happen every system is different you should know that, see3 dosnt have anything to do with demand better memory controller dose AMD only rates there chips to beat intel and thats all they have to do there is no need for amd to sell a 3GHz amd right now because intel has nothing to compete i have a 2.0a P4 northwood thats 2.0GHz stock it dose 3.6GHz on air so why didnt intel sell 3.6GHz chips when they came out with the 2.0a? because NOT all will do that speed nore was it needed at the time, and if i get 2.6GHz on a 3000+ ill be just as happy when my winnie got that but i will have the ease of knowing the memory controller will live longer and perform better you may not think there is any performance gain but if you do let me re phrase that when you do get a venice you will see a performance gain may not be in numbers but in the memory controllerQuote:
numbers speak for itself regardless how many reviews there is, different results at the exact same speed with same equipments only mean two things, either something fishy, or the cpu and ram are defective/inconsistant, again....320 x9 is 320 x9. Oh by the way, correct me if I'm wrong but I have yet seen any venice reviewer do any SuperPI 32M bench or 24hr Prime95 on those venice at 2.8 or 2.9Ghz, left alone at 3+Ghz. Make no mistake about it, the venice looks impressive with the SSE3, and sure welcome by many with the supposedly improved ondie memory controller, but if they all can hit 2.8~3Ghz reliably, why in the world didn't AMD sell them as such? why stopped at 3800 (2.4Ghz)?
getting a good overclocker that can do 2.9~3.0Ghz rock solid on air depends heavily on luck (suicide screen shot and such need not apply), come on now...let's be real, just don't be disappointed if 2.6~2.8(prime95 or superpi 32m stable) is all you got out of these 3000 or 3200 venice, they're by no mean dud or bad overclockers either!! But for me, myself, and only me....I probably won't see much gain (if any).
FZero,
Not sure if you see my signature but my winnie is running naked at 43'C under load at 2.7G, don't think the lifespan could be any shorter than those with retail heatsink/fan running at default clock with 50+'C under load. :D :D I myself had already went through about 5 winnie just to hunt for the magic chip and finally got my hands on this one that I think is decent, all of the previous one can't do any higher than 2.55 reliably, of all the trouble and money that went down the drain I should of gotten myself an FX-53 right of the bat. Not sure if the number "337.5 x8" or "337.5 1T" mean anything to you, but my winnie doesn't has any memory controller problem, and I could careless about filling up 4 memory banks either. I'm only interested in the performance gain I get over my current winnie, and I only speak for myself, and me, and myself, and I only, in no form or way am I trying to steer anybody away from the venice nor am I saying the Venice sucks. All I know is, this time around I'm not going to make the same mistake again. :p:

There's always a risk with early adoption, if you can hang on then hang on so you can see how the binning is or how Venice overclocks to San Diego etc etc etc.

Andy
Just got an email from Monarch tonight - May for the affordable ones.. :(

Hopefully Sparco comes through for those of us that orderd through them
18 Apr
/pray
same here, have my fingers cross....I'm waiting for the San Diego :D :D
Man, if Sparco comes through...I'm going to order another Raptor from them just as a way of saying thanks. Then I can RAID it with the one that's already sitting here... :fact: :woot:
If they do come through we all need to remember to hook them up with some nice reseller reviews/ratings points
3700+ SD seems like a good deal to me, I think i'll buy it. I hope it OC's the same as Venice, the higher speed-binned SD's, and even the new SD FX57, and the past FX55 (IF NOT BETTER!)
BTW, the new FX57 is San-Diego and 1MB, right? So, why buying FX57 when you can buy the exact same chip, only lower speed-binned (like the 3700+) at much lower cost?
Well why buy an fx-55 now over a 4000+/3800+, for a he guaranteed clocks and b unlocked multis.
Right, unlocked multies... But the new E CPU's are promised to clocks the same if not better as a good FX 55... They do 2800MHz on stock volts and reach 3600MHz on phase-change.
You're forgetting something...
Overclockers are a small percentage of CPU sales, most people don't care about it, don't want to do it, don't trust it, or are generally too dumb to figure it out...unfortunately income is not directly proportional to intelligence, therefore lots of people buy the top of the line product because it's the best *out of the box*, forget that we can make a chip of 1/3 the price perform at higher levels, the average consumer doesn't know that or just doesn't care to bother learning how to
It's not like AMD ships their chips with directions on how to overclock to make sure that they'd never ever sell higher priced chips ever again...while it CAN be reliably, and somewhat simply achieved, 97% of the CPUs out there won't ever be Overclocked
Why would an overclocker buy an FX chip? If the person has the income to spend on it, it's an unlocked multiplier chip guaranteed to be in the highest quality percentages of the chips that AMD sells
Answer: A) people are stupid
B) smart people with money can get the most out of them.
Thanks, I see the picture now.
I really think that the smartest people will get the most out of the CHEAPEST chips ;)
You said that the FX line of chips is guaranteed to be top notch in terms of silicon/quality, but why do a SD FX will differ from, let's say, a 4200+ SD which is only 200MHz less? Aside from unlocked multies, which doesn't help that much IMO (And I've played with some unlocked CPU's, but that's my opinion only). Currently I think i'll "settle" [:slobber:] for a juicy 3700+ SD.
all i can say is the weak dollar might do me some good as those prices arent bad in £s. shame monarch charge $30 as a processing fee on international orders.
Do Monarch ship internationally? Wow, that would be nice, I didn't know that.
looks like Monarch would have the SD on May 6th, will have to wait till the 16th at sparco....
