Mmmm thought so. Something weird is going on here. Using version 1.21 it shows F7 as my bios. Possible that the second bios is taking over from the flashed original F11 one? Anyone else have this?

Matshui this is your CPU or your mem failing. Try upping voltage on CPU first and see if it helps. If not it`s probably mem so up voltage there or raise timings to higher values.
Matshui - andy's advice is good. it is unlikely that you caaoc xpmw is failing even with stock volts. the mushkin on the other hand could easily need more volts. sometimes it wont even do rated timings until vdimm is at 2.8volts
I have tried upping voltage on CPU, so I will then try my memory...
Just didn't think about it coulb be them, as they are underclocket, but I have experienced many weird things with my new hardware, so why not..!
Yeah these A64 motherboards are rather strange.
Are you dividing your memory at all? I`ve hear ppl with Mushkin`s like yours up voltage to 2.8 - 3.1v and all is fine. Seem to like voltage even at stock on these boards.
Now I think, how can I be such an idiot not to have noticed my memory only got 2,6v....
Yeah, those Mushkin love voltage, even at stock as you say, atleast they did on my old nForce2 board, they did run much better when I gave them 2,9v instead of 2,8v, only running at 217, but they clocked as hell (my CPU couldn't follow...)!
But thanks for the help, I just tried giving them 2,9v, my comp turned off while updating BIOS...
But a click on the Clear CMOS button, and it did run again... :D
definitely your ram. Try up your voltage.Quote:

As I recently got my 3000+ and AN50R, I think it is time for some overclocking of this CPU...
It is a CAAOC XPMW (don't remember the 4 digits before XPMW, but can tell you tomorrow)...
If I then try and OC, doesn't matter if it is 50Mhz or 200Mhz, SuperPi gives me an "NOT_EXACT_IN_ROUND" fail..
I am currious to know what to do about it.....!
Ohh yeah, VERY usefull information you found the Macci..!
It was my memory voltage causing problems, now giving them 2,9v and currently at 223x10 3xLDT stock voltage....
I think we will see more to this CPU, when my watercooling arrives.. :D
EDIT: How much does memory timings do on the Shuttle board, I am thinking about running mine at cas2,5 insteed of cas2, or should I just lower my timings from 2-2-2-6 to 2-x-x-x...?

I have the same problem and it's killing me! So i would be glad if someone could tell me what to do ?
I don't know about you guys...
But my Shuttle AN50R v1.3 is VModded to give me 3.42V VDimm on "AUTO"
But I can only run 2.5-2-2-5-12-16 at tightest...
If I try to run 2-2-2-X I get BSOD...
I've run my KHX3000 2X 256 (BH-5) @ 285 FSB 1:1 @ 3.6V so I know the sticks are capable of running high FSB's but I don't understand why my sticks won't run CAS 2 at all..
BTW My KHX3000 are single sided, not double sided.
A64'uSER, try upping your voltage, either on the CPU or the memory, it helped me....
BTW, what is a good for BH-5 memory at 2,9v, it seems like mine is maxing out at ~233Mhz 2-2-2-6...
It's only bugging me when i'm overclocks my cpu...
man thats wierd i can run 2 cas and im using some older rev el-3700 dimms? im even using the 512 sticks and they are double sided as well. i thought that the double sided memory was a no go in these systems? i gues its like everything else when ocing "its just luck of the draw" and "what works for one may not for the other"!! oh hey what is "safe" for my memory voltage and v-core ect on these systems? i run the an50r and just dont want to wind up with the paper weight!?!? can you guys tell me what is safe for these settings? also whats the LDT do? if i set it lower does it run faster or is it higher that i need to set it? sorry for the noob questions but in the case of this new 64 system im afraid that i am a nOOB :p:Quote:

thx perc,
okay... i've maxed my chip out...
2.6 ghz @ 1.8 volts...
was hoping to hit the 2.7 ghz mark ... i tried up to 1.9 volts @ 2.65 and it errored in prime...
so what's next? a new chip? r404 mod? :)
Hideo has a new 3400+
in air cooling :
04.03.06 Atlon64 3400+(0401SPMW) 1.50V(’è:banana:i) 11x220MHz‚Å:banana:—p‰Â”\‚Å‚µ‚½B
11x224MHz for SUPERPI
CG core stepping? I dont know
more info, soon
Got my new A64 3400+ still boxed -- waiting for Mach2 lianli mod kit and pc65 to get here...hate the goddam ups -- screwed me big time with their delays
any ideas how well will this do:
CAAOC 0352 TPMW
sound like a winner to me Phyrox. i had a similar chip but it was the 3000+ and xpmw and it did 2.5ghz on air benchable. you have a 200mhz headstart on that chip so expect great things
I also got a new one :D
My first move: 2500MHz @1.66v with Asetekkie
http://xs4all.nl/~famchow/CAATC.jpg
asetekkie as in waterchill, correct?
yes, KT12-L20 with Airplex EVO 240 and 2x SUNON 120mmQuote:

Here what i have achieved today.
This is with Asetek watercooling (38C idle/ 49 stressed)
http://www.kakaroto.ntonline.nl/A64_...4GHz_CAATC.jpg
Is this good with water?
Stepping is CAATC 0404 XPMW (greeny)
hi, i'm french ;)
I would like to buy my new pc :
3000+ or 3200+ core CG
AN50R or nforce3 250
2*256 CH5 winbond ......................
Fortron 350W aurora
HIS 9800pro iceQ
7000A AlCu
My ch 5 run on nforce 2 150 or better on Nforce 3 250?
:toast: :slobber:
hey neo.life. welcome
nf3-250 is so close i would wait and try it out. or at least wait for someone to compare it to the nf3-150.
thx flytek
but
